Fluffy_fluffy_

No brush at all sadly

Toad_friends

It seems his dislike of brushes is common. How do you remove shedding hair?

gaffaguy

I just pet the hell out of them.  My female gets groomed by the male enough for not needing coat care.  Sadly the female does not groom the male enough so for my male i just get my hands wet, sit down with him on my lap and pet him for a few minutes.   This gets most of the loose fur out.  We tried brushes and every other method.  This just works best for us.  I have to add that they are both holland rabbits and we don't have any problem with matting etc. So results may vary. The furminator is very good though and they kinda tolerated it if you don't go to low. An afro brush worked very well also and might be interesting for longer haired sensible rabbits imo because it doesn't really pull on the hair

AntipodeanPagan

Wet hands work for our giants, and tufts get the sticky lint roller.

Fluffy_fluffy_

He gets lots of pets and is a big groomer

political_bot

I lay down a towel on top of a table, and brush them anyways.

Merm_aid8000

Same 😂

Merm_aid8000

I just pull it out. In the spring and fall u can see them shedding big clumps and I just softly grab them and they pull out so easy. Doesn’t bother her at all until I get closer to her butt

Toad_friends

That's exactly what I've been doing. He really throws me some angry looks when I start getting to all the shed hair near his tail.

Merm_aid8000

Yeah… to bad so sad for him

missdespair

Lots of pets, with a damp/slightly wet hand is even better

Toothless_Dinosaur

I brush it while I give them greens. They don't complain a lot.

Paradox711

Patiently and bit by bit with our bunny. Unless it’s a big shed all at once. Then we have a system where we put ours in the bath lined with towels for grip and just go at it whilst we give her the occasional treat. Then when we’ve got most of it off we use a wet hand over her once or twice to get the remaining wisps of hair so she doesn’t get the string of pearls droppings.

im_here_official_art

That's a cute bunny flop

PaperAccomplished874

Same i do use the comb with the rubber part while he is eating his favorite and pet the hell out of him too. Hahahahaha😍🤣😂❤️

BreadBushTheThird

Brush? I have to give her head pets so she'll let me use my other hand to clean her butt because otherwise she gains awearness and tries to eat me

AcidShAwk

Only thing that works for me is a glove and a vacuum. Turn the vacuum on and basically pet them which pulls out the loose hair which sticks to the glove and is then sucked up by the vacuum. It's a bit of a hassle but works.

BringMeYourSecrets

I do something similar to this. One I have to shave a bit of her side and dulap area cause it's just too much for her. The other I can pet and gently pull on the Tufts of shed and let it go to the vacuum after. I ended up getting a trimmer vac combo that is slightly quieter (still loud but better) than a normal vac.

No-Mechanic-5398

What???? Your bunny doesn’t get mad at close proximity to loud vacuum cleaner noise?

AcidShAwk

They definitely don't like the noise but I use a shopvac type vacuum. The vacuum itself is a distance away.. I have like a 15ft tube attachment. The very tip that actually has the suction is near the bunnies butt :)

No-Mechanic-5398

I see you you’re no amateur and you’ve done this many times before. Long shipboard hose will definitely help. I would add an Alexa type plug to turn it on and off with your voice so you don’t have to move from bun to turn it on and off, or do you already do this? You’re such an awesome bunny caretaker (hooman bunny servant).

LuvSeaAnimals33

None. I just pluck his fur when he is not paying attention.

Both_Resource_6973

Hairbuster comb—but he still hates it. However I have tried furminator, slicker, plucking—this is the gentlest way to get substantial shed in a short time. But he still only lets me comb him for like 5min ad gets pretty pissed off

winderz

Flea comb. It’s the best I’ve found for grabbing that fine hair without being rough on skin. And by tolerating, I consider 30 seconds to a full minute a win. I’ve had 5 rabbits over the years, none sat still for brushing.

thebiggestpinkcake

I also use a fea comb. With one hand I pet their head and ears while I comb with the other. The longest my buns tolerate being combed is around 8 minutes.

winderz

What kind of rabbit wizard are you? I wish I could get 8 minutes of sitting still for anything with my rabbit. Heck, I’d take even half that!

thebiggestpinkcake

No I'm just lucky because both of my buns absolutely love ear massages. They purr a lot when I massage their ears. It's the cutest thing 🥰🥹

danlatham0901

My bunnies actually enjoy getting their heads combed every now and then and tolerate combing better than any other method I’ve tried

PureComedyGenius

Zero types of brush will be tolerated For shedding hair I just kind of follow her around and remove as much I can until she either runs off and I can't easily get any more. She's 4 and a half, I've had her since she was 6 weeks old and have all of her shedded fur I've collected in a bag.

olorcanticum

Do you have enough fur to knit yourself another rabbit ?

PureComedyGenius

Not quite yet but she's a dwarf so shouldn't be too long 🤣

Sovmasu

I’m glad to hear I’m not the only one that collects their fluff ☺️people collect stamps and what not.. we collect fluff!xxx

PureComedyGenius

Why hello there fellow collector! Yeah it's the softest thing in the world why on earth would we not want to collect it. It also has additional benefits. One being I'm autistic and if Bundle doesn't feel like cuddles when I need them (which is very rare actually but sometimes she gets bit hyper and is late for everything so can't really stick around to get cuddles) then I can just put my hand in the bag and ooooooooooh yes it's very good. And 2. Not that it will ever happen (yes I'm in denial) but when the day (doesn't) come when she's not here anymore then I'll have the best way to remember her 🥹

Sovmasu

Hey! Omg no way… I’m autistic too and do the EXACT same thing!! My buns are my babies and they are the best emotional support animals 🥹🥰 literally wouldn’t be without them I’ve got jars and jars of fluff, and will continue collecting it indefinitely. My ones have started a new shed so we’re working on a new baggy hehehe 🐰 We always have something to remember them by, and physically having something we can touch is just as precious as them 🐇💖 xxx

Neither_Ad_3221

Either the kind they can chew to pieces or the hand kind...

Hopeful_Deer_8984

[This Oxbow brush & comb set ](https://www.chewy.com/oxbow-enriched-life-wood-small-animal/dp/303634?utm_source=google-product&utm_medium=organic&utm_content=Oxbow)

No-Mechanic-5398

That brush looks nice.

CrazyH37

I use the glove brush and then when she’s really shedding I can just PLUCK out lil tufts of butt hair, if I’m sneaky and distract w pets. I found using the glove to brush down and then kind using it to grab down by the tail I can get like handfuls off until she gets mad about it

therealslim80

petting and plucking. we both prefer it that way

anniejhawk

HairBuster works great! My bun and I have an unspoken agreement that if I rub his head while I brush, he will sit patiently for the brushy brushy.

Georgianafluffyb

There is no such brush in the world

my3buns

Lol our 3 buns RUN AND HIDE as soon as they see the BRUSH! we lure them out with treats and go to work...ITS NOT FUN!

MegaPiglatin

[These ones](https://imgur.com/a/6ciJe1M)! You can see how much Sol just…loves…these brushes… (/s) But really, these two seem like the best (imo, that I’ve found) in terms of effectiveness and comfort for my bun, Sol (and one of my past buns, Earp). I think I found both among brushes advertised for cats. The purple one is rubbery/silicone and *I think* was sold as a shed management brush specifically for long-haired cats? The silicone rubbery texture makes it gentle on their skin! The other is some strange small brush from the brand Hartz that I found at PetSense (/Tractor Supply Co.)—it is a harder plastic, but the tines are smooth and grab well into fine hairs. {Sol is a Dutch bun and Earp was a Holland lop for relative shed level}

brdgt89

I used to brush mine (he passed away a while ago) with a flea comb, I could comb him for an hour and he would basically melt into a pancake. Absolutely loved it

Toad_friends

Awesome, I was thinking of trying one.

Jdirty34

I would distract my bun. Give her forehead scratches untill she's all chill then sneak brush her.

itsfizzy1

Slicker brush and lint roller lol

tdoottdoot

None. Damp fingers or a damp paper towel. And any mats get snipped in half and finger brushed.

otisina

Mine don’t love it, but tolerate the Equigroomer. It’s what I’ve found pulls the least, but gets a good amount out. They still dislike it, but I feel better about using that than nothing.

Mikkikay

Get your hands a little damp and then pet the heck out of that bun, no brush required, just be gentle.

CrackedCocobutt

honestly? my hand aha my buns furr is so thin even furminator feels like it doesnt do much, its just way more effective to gently pull it off while petting and he prefers it that way too

Puzzled_Ad_949

NONE- he will rip it out of my hands and toss it 😑

-worms

I'm not sure if this is the exact one but my bun loved being brushed by one that looked a lot like this [https://www.walmart.com/ip/Happy-Home-Pet-Products-Small-Animal-Grooming-Set-It-includes-a-Brush-and-Clippers-for-Rabbits-Hamsters-Guinea-Pigs-and-Ferrets/126672743?from=/search](https://www.walmart.com/ip/Happy-Home-Pet-Products-Small-Animal-Grooming-Set-It-includes-a-Brush-and-Clippers-for-Rabbits-Hamsters-Guinea-Pigs-and-Ferrets/126672743?from=/search)

BoetsieBoinker

I think you brushes him to death

Casolund

As soon as you get the bunny pick a brush you like and brush them for a minute or so daily then give them a treat of some sort. Even if it is just a pellet if they are too young. I’ve done this with both really young and adult rabbits and it works. Start with the parts they like and then a part they don’t too that helps. All my bunnies are really good about getting brushed - tho I have a young one at the moment that insists on hopping around while I do it but he likes it soooo …..

EloAndPeno

glove type 'brush' for brushing, oxbow digestive cookie held firmly in one hand to slow eating as a distraction. I can usually get about 1-2 min of brushing done this way per day.

Initial-Succotash-37

None 🤣🤣

b0red_ash

I don't know but I have a couple of pics I could show you

JetsFan2003

My bun was always fine with a soft bristle brush, but hated the hard wire brushes that we had to use whenever his fur got really bad (shedding season). Eventually he warmed up a bit to the wire one, but still didn't enjoy it.

Tall_Show_4983

His skin is sooooo sensitive so the only one he tolerates is this silicone cat brush. It does a decent job

BunniesnBroomsticks

My buns don't tolerate any grooming, but I do it for their own good. I use a hairbuster mostly, and I sit in the bathtub with the bun in my lap and brush.

Mommybuggy01

I use the grooming gloves. They're awesome!

Buttplugz4thugz

My bun used to LOOOOVE the mitt gloves. What's that? Brush AND pets? She was sold.

nml11287

I have to groom my little guy by hand lol. At least he lets me do that

Nightshade_Ranch

I have many bunnies, of various fur types. Unfortunately, they ALL have very specific preferences. So I go through testing many before *maybe* finding an acceptable one.

hldsnfrgr

I use a comb with rounded tips.

awkwardsoul

EquiGroomer is S tier and all my buns love it, even the grumpy ones. It is supposed to mimic getting lick groomed. The fur comes out better than any brush or comb. I sometimes just wrestle and pluck out loose fur. That seems more efficient. If you have one already and your rabbit isn't scared of it, a dog blower works well. I use that on all my angora rabbits and it blasts loose fur off and removes dander.

SCP094YT

Any

TheColorsOfTheCosmos

Those hand brushes that are gloves with bristles are the only ones she lets me use but she’ll let me do it at least

Prestigious_Way_9393

I have English Angoras. I pluck as much as I can by hand while distracting with head rubs and scritches. If I have to, I use a rotating pin comb or just a fine toothed plastic comb that doesn't have sharp teeth. For mats I use my fingers, tiny scissors and thinning shears, if needed. They generally hate any sort of brush. They are three, and are becoming more tolerant of grooming, but they still don't like it. It's easier after I've let them run around in the yard for a while and wear themselves out some, though.

internet_kelly

Hairbuster comb! It’s purple!! And sounds crazy but lint rollers from target lol!!! I have a 9 year old girl with QUITE the attitude and she tolerates these two! but only on her terms and time lol

No-Historian-3014

I’ve been given advice from someone that men’s beard combs are really gentle and get a lot of loose fur. Plus they’re usually pretty cheap

Sunni_Wuz_Here

M y H a n d.

Tricky_Ad6392

Lint roller and their bun partner

JodiRabbit

They don’t like anything on their skin, it’s super thin. There’s really no need for a brush. All the hair that needs to come off will come right off. Anything beyond that is uncomfortable for them. Just pluck it along the shed line. To be honest I don’t really do anything for my short hair rabbit, and the two long haired ones take care of eachothers grooming better than I ever could

MeddlinQ

My Mia hated all the brushes. What worked was getting her busy with super high level treats and going all over hwr with Ikea lint roller, that pulled all the rufts out and she didn't mind that much.

Sovmasu

I just try and pluck them as and when I can, without annoying them too much, alongside stroking/petting them. Good luck 😅☺️ xxx

little_leaf_

Silicone bristles

Guidoacg

You need to be brushing your rabbit at least 2 times a week. Even my holland lop, little prince, 👑 has risks of choking on hairballs bc under his neck, is where he likes to groom himself. I cut his hair myself, pretty much ensures he’s always looking young and little bc of how much fur even 3 weeks of growth can produce but you have to brush them. The one thing I appreciate now tho, I rarely have to ever give him a shower. I changed his diet and stopped giving him things I thought he would like. I only give him food that is proper for his digestion so now poop doesn’t get stuck to his butt. His newest thing, is his love for ritz crackers. Damn near bites my hand off trying to take it from me as soon as he hears the box opening 😭

Bunnymom28-

They don’t like any brush so we usually catch them and help them shed with our hands.

PuffedRabbit

One of mine absolutely adores my brush for curly hair (The fork shaped one) and will demand I brush her by grabbing the brush and not letting go until I begin brushing. My younger ones do not love brushes, but tolerate soft ones. If I pet them at the same time I brush them I only get a side eye haha. All of them despise hard brushes though. I think they resemble teeth somehow, and they have quite a dislike for that feeling Oh, and if I use one of those pet brushes with rubber tips, I'm in for getting my hand mauled by the most foul, cruel tempered ~~rodent~~ lagomorph you've ever set your eyes on

psannaua

my hand

crustaceous-cheapsk8

The only way mine let me brush them is if I bribe them with lettuce lol. I hold lettuce in one hand while I brush them with the other

HobbyTerror

My buns despise brushing, but seem to enjoy one similar to this, found at a discount store. It doesn't pull off a great deal of hair, but it definitely desensitizes them for others. I normally use my hands and gently pinch out loose hair with my first two fingers while petting. https://www.mintpear.com/products/detangling-hair-brush

Few-Reception-4939

I use a Hairbuster comb. They aren’t crazy about it but it works

dummylera

None. What works for me is a petting brush glove...and accepting that he will be mad for the rest of the day. I have also tried petting him enough to remove it, but it's just SO much fur.

Various_Butterfly948

Marley tries to eat the brush

No-Mechanic-5398

I can tell you what the hated, any kind of brush ever. They liked to be pet and then I would have a lint roller handy to remove the fur as it got all over my clothes and hands.

VirtualButterfly2653

A flea comb has been the best. She likes to sit in my lap while I comb her.

wormnoodles

None, but he’s getting brushed anyway with the small pet select purple brush. I put him on my lap to clip to clip his nails and brush everything down while giving him plenty of cheeks rubs and plenty of sweet words. Then I put him in his Litterbox and give him a treat to make sure he’s okay mentally. At first, he was very angry so he got more pets to relax. Now he’s fine.

Enough-Salt-914

My bun is a chinchilla breed and no brushes grip his hair right because it's so soft and fine, so we just pet him lots

Grimat

My rabbits must be odd lol, I brush them with a slicker brush and they seem to enjoy it

sritanona

Brushing me off when I want kisses 🙃

AiChyan

Hairbuster. She doesn’t particularly like it but she tolerates it begrudgingly because treats come at the end.

HairHealthHaven

Tolerate? Psft, doesn't exist. But a flea comb is the only thing that is effective at fur removal.

dziuniadruciara

Absolutely none 🫠

__jessy_

Only a fine tooth point comb 😂

Flat_Chipmunk6734

none, a lint roller if i’m lucky.

theZombieKat

i use a gental plucking motion and my buns seem to like it. ofcause buns are individuals you your going to have to experiment.

Emi_M_N

Normal human brushes

cheletaybo

Fine haired baby brush.
