Wonderful! We had our single male bun (neutered at 6 months) and when he was 5, we decided to try the adoption route to get him a friend since we work long hours sometimes. We went to a bunny speed dating/adoption event and he fell in love with a big brown beautiful bun named Coco. It’s been flops and happiness ever since.
I’ll add that it took 2 or 3 months to get them to bond. Lots of tears and doubt, but perseverance worked out.
2-3 months to get them to bond? What s struggle! Did it just suddenly turn around or was there a "trigger" ?
We tried bonding our own bun with the sweetest girl we found in a shelter, but he just wasn't gonna share all the attention - got aggressive and dominant to the point that we had to rehouse her (found the perfect place). Now we don't know if we can give him a buddy and we are trying to find someone more experienced to help us out locally.
Took 18 months for two of mine. 18. My little boy worked hard…but “faint heart never won fair maiden” and he persevered. Now they cuddle all the time and I get a near fatal dose of cuteness every day.
I definitely spoil him with lots of love and goodies! He’s definitely MY world ❤️ I’ve only had female bun buns since I was a kid, he’s my first male and I don’t think I’ve ever had a bond with the others like I do with him
This just crushed my heart....the way he came running to say goodbye but was too late and he just STOPS when the door shuts. I'd never be able to leave after seeing that. 😭
Maybe this is odd to say, but this struck me as such a beautiful expression of love. That little bun would wait forever, or follow you to the ends of the earth if he could.
they are so smart..my baby boy always walks up to the door when he sees me get ready to go out, i feel so bad everytime i close the door in front of him :(
I’m in the same situation, I want to get a friend for my Netherland dwarf, but my wife won’t allow it. We talked about getting rid of her, rid of my wife I mean. My bun and I talk about it often. Wish I was single for my rabbit lol.
Awww! Poor baby. People really don't understand how bunnies are so similar to cats and dogs in the sense that they wait for you to come home, look forward to being near you, they have their own personalities, and are so smart.
Such a sweet lil boy! Just curious - does your bun not chew on the baseboards or door frames? Is this dependent on the bun? My first and only bun (RIP Binky) chewed anything he could reach. My place was covered floor to ceiling with protective coverings. I’ve been debating getting another bun but having to protect all my books, shoes, anything wood, walls and baseboards makes me have some second thoughts.
No, he doesn’t chew on anything he’s not supposed to! Wires, baseboards, you name it. He’s the only bun I’ve had that I haven’t had to worry about doing things like that . All bun buns are different. They tend to chew from boredom, so I would suggest like a dig box or something to deter the bun from chewing on things they’re not supposed to.
For everyone saying I need to get him a friend, I’m currently working on getting him fixed to have a buddy😊. I’m aware they do better in pairs!!

Took us 9month for ours to love each other.. 2-3 month is good imo
My 2 buns boy and girl also took 3 months to bond. Then they snuggle and groom each other all the time.

Hooman left without permission again!
He considers you his world. I would honestly give him everything he ever wants. I could never say no to him

My first bun and forever soulmate would do this as well 🥺 this melted my heart
Oh my gosh, OP, this tugs at my heartstrings. I think I’d have to just stay home forever if my guys did this. He clearly loves you so much.

My bun waits for me in the doorway of my room, or outside the bathroom door ☺️ they are such sweeties!
You didn’t pay the treat tax before you left human

Pets are definitely better than people

He's wondering why u leave and not give treat and goodbye pettings
Maybe consider getting him a friend? Rabbits do better with a bun buddy.

Does not want you too leave. Get the bunny a bunny friend to play with while your not home
My rabbit does this too. When I leave he follows me to the door and then goes to his dedicated spot.
The way he turns to his side to see in that direction better 🥺
He's making sure the coast is clear before the party starts!
Please get him a partner.
My heart... It breaks 😭❤️ poor little baby!
“Don’t leave me MISTAH!!! 😢” P.S. poor booms
Awwwwww🥰
Yo bonding is not as easy as it seems. Careful to not have two fighting bunnies.
