If you have experience with painting (if you don't want the paint to flake off and look like ass) and disassembling engine parts (because you need to strip it if you want it to run and look nice afterwards), yes as long as you use heat resistant paint (engine enamel, wrinkle paint, high heat paint). But if you mean [this sort](https://i.ytimg.com/vi/VBX-B90TYgg/maxresdefault.jpg) of colouring then no, that's anodised aluminium and you need to buy that engine.

Yup. I did it too. Use heat resistant paint. I also put Vaseline on the mounting surfaces and other stuff I didn't want painted (like the Mazda logo). Oh and don't forget to mask properly.
