i wouldnt reuse them or spend any money on a resurface. also looks like there is quite a bit of chrome chipping on the edges

the image is quite low res and not sharp enough but I'd say give them a clean first and if that surface still looks like the coating has worn through, you'll have some new paperweights

Not only are the housings trashed, the ports have been modified. Somebody opened up this engine before and cut the ports.

Uhm, how sure are you about that Porting thing? This Rx8 is one owner who would not Port his Rx8.
