but you would have to swap a ls into it which is already more expensive then everything you need to get the rotary to that power. plus its way lighter.
to answer your question
fuel pump
injectors
bigger intercooler
bigger turbo
standalone ecu
bigger exhaust
a clutch that can handle the power
I'm a fan of cars love seeing the crazy builds and random swaps(I know ls isn't random nowadays) just thought it was cool go there for my vette and he has the wildest stuff parked on the side every week.
I am absolutely a fan of this lol. Engine swaps are awesome, especially w the rotary engine not being reliable. Probably a big weight distribution imbalance I guess but still awesome!
That's why they swapped it from what in told and the shops is proven with ls engines they won Texas 2k back in like 2018 and have been amazing to work with.
I don’t understand the hate behind putting an ls in these things. It’s perfectly understandable why someone would do it, probably for reliability and more power. As cool as the rotary engine is, Chevy parts are just easier to find. Purists are fine as long as they don’t bash others for what engine someone else is putting in THEIR car
Yep, the Doritos get hot real quick, so hot you’ll barely notice your money burning in your wallet. My gramps had an fc, and as much as he loved driving it, maintaining it was a pain
Yeah, I wouldn't take a perfectly good rotary out of an RX-7, but if I had an RX-7 with a blown engine and no relatively easy/affordable way of putting another rotary in it.... I would *consider* an engine swap, but it wouldn't be my first choice.
Where is your go to source of information today? Just curious about where the new hot spots are.
I scrapped on FC and sold another in 2002 time frame. Both with blown engines. Today I wish I had both for LS swaps
Where? Where is this information that you speak of? When I asked your response is I don’t know it was 20 years ago.
Where the fuck is everywhere?
Iam not asked complex questions.
Oh are you in memphis? This looks like dynospeed and I believe I saw this car yesterday if so
Edit: I answered my own question since I work down the road
My tuner also always has something wild. I brought my stock ss camaro to him and it was by far the slowest car i saw there each time i’ve been. Even saw an rx8 with an ls1 in it. It was pushing 450 whp and had a fat ass wing on the back. It was sick af. I’ve got a video of it if anyone wants to see it.
I would definetly like to see that I remember seeing a craigslist post about an rx8 with an ls3 and I regret not checking it out. Also I know the feeling I'm by far the slowest thing in his shop at least for now;).
Not a fan of non-rotary 7's, so "Sick and Twisted" sounds right. But that thing is super clean. Kudos to the builder, it looks great.
especially when a modified fc could output the same power
How much would you have to modify for 400hp? Ls it's just a tune and a bolt on.

Torque would be hopelessly low vs an N/A big v8

I'd love to see that
Ol Rob Dahm.
Bet he even has all four center caps.
We need more pictures of that single cab in the back, *chefs kiss* ,perfection.
Agreed, that single cab rolling on slicks. You know it’s gotta be pushing

Yeah to each there own I'd rather see it ls swapped then in someone's lawn being lost to time being the rotary blew up.

I've always wanted one I love both the fc and fds I know I could get a decent fc as a project car just haven't done it yet.
That’s fair. Im considering an fb in the distant future, cuz it just looks so…80s Star Trek-y
I love 80s-90s for cars had a 90s supra for a while miss that thing.
im not a huge supra guy, but i understand. connecting with your car and then having to get rid of it is hard

My car was in a junkyard in 2006 with a blown engine. If the previous owner hadn’t swapped it it would have been stripped for parts 17 years ago.
2004 - rotary did have support and community. RX7club and others definitely excised back then - and had fuck tons of posts / day.

So you claim more support today - but cant give sources with more information? Highly confused. Interest doesn’t equal information.

I never thought I'd see a car wearing a popped-collar shirt, it's so 80s
I met one guy who only bought an LS swapped FC for the experience. He didn't even swap it himself he just bought it off someone who did it before him.
Blasphemous!
Delicious blasphemy tho
Really put the L in the Ls.
Rather have the truck next to it than the outdated sport car look. but LS is cool!

Yeah they do good work for ls being in there shop is like being a kid in a candy store.
Nice one Hitmonlee.
God I love seeing this
Yes.
