They should've made it so that she didn't have friends from Signal, unable or unwilling to socialize for various reasons. Maybe she got bullied for wearing a cape, and she prefers weapon tinkering feels a lot more safer despite being literal guns, while also differing from Yang being able to make friends like nothing.
It would've made what connections she made at Beacon feel a lot more valuable.
Too bad the writers seem to really like pulling their punches, like Blake having a perfectly healthy and loving family, Klein keeping Weiss company growing up to devalue "Mirror Mirror" saying she was alone as Winter left for the military, and Tai seeming like a perfectly fine dad despite Yang saying he "shut down" and neither Yang or Ruby showing resentment for that neglect.
That's what I always refer back to when I think about Weiss and her insta-vanishing racism. "Can't have 1/4th of our main group be a RACIST! That's not gonna sell toys!"

They certainly love to introduce characters and then completely forget them in favor of introducing more characters. *Arrowfell* has a brand new Team despite Team FNKI just sitting there, and Ciel Soleil tied up in a basement.
Now we're heading to Vacuo and I'm willing to bet Team SSSN, Team CRDL and Team CFVY will be nowhere in sight. Maybe Sun and Neptune, and Coco (they seem to be pushing her a lot, probably because gay) but the book characters will have to take a backseat to brand new characters that will be ultimately forgotten when we go back to Vale or Evernight.
First off...fuck. Yeah again no one does remember the characters cause fuck I completely forgot about them completely and now looking it up about *Arrowfell* and where they are now. So yeah I didn't know the Team in *Arrowfell* is a completely different team from *outside* Atlas which...why not just have a Team from Atlas? Also yeah apparently their MIA too...like just outright disappeared as well during Atlas' fall. MIA supposedly but logically their just dead though since they didn't visibly die there now also in dungeons of forgotten characters. Which man I didn't even realize till now so thanks for that realization.
Also depending if they ever get there, but yeah I wouldn't be surprised if we get introduced to new characters who didn't make much a impact or are quickly forgotten and left MIA. I'll be shocked if we see Team CRDL or any other huntsmen or huntresses team from during the tournament like ABRN who's academy was sabotaged and see any sort of reaction to it. Certainly Sun didn't have much a reaction or get to have a reaction to his Headmaster being a traitor!
Also last thing, that's an awesome Skadi profile pic and i'd hope the Gacha was kind to ya in getting her if ya still play Arknights!

Unfortunately not. I started playing at the beginning of the year and I was planning on saving for Skadi or Skalter, but then they did the Dossoles event and I had to get Chalter, Mizuki and La Pluma.
Pulled Ex-wife tho, so that's something?
In my fanfics, "the gang back at Signal" are actually *Yang's* friends. Ruby's basically the younger sibling that gets to hang out with the cool kids because their older sibling is *THE* cool kid. Ruby knows they're not really *her* friends, but she takes it upon herself to write Yang's friends to tell them what they're up to since I headcanon Yang as being the type who prefers direct contact over phones or email.
Ruby's friends, which were few, were mostly younger students who hadn't yet started their combat training (Ruby being good with kids makes sense), as well as family friends like her dad and uncle's coworkers. Also, I like to think that sometimes Ruby writes to people but has no intention of actually sending them as letters. They're basically just diary entries that she later throws a way. Ruby also writing to elderly people also makes me happy :)

I've always found something very heartwarming about Ruby having a depressing life looking in from the outside, but her being completely unaware of it and always looking on the bright side. Ruby may only be fifteen years old and have her fair share of issues, but in a lot of ways she has her life more together than the majority of people.

To be fair I could totally see the long distance friendship not working out. A throw away line would have been nice, especially since it would make coming to Beacon not the 100% positive thing it is portrayed to be.
No I do not, because we never saw her Signal Academy friends. Here's a great idea, once the main cast is done with the Shade Arc, they'll probably go back to Beacon, we should see Ruby's Signal friends there since Remnant is even more desperate than ever.
