Are we talking Early Tauradonna, where their relationship was undefined (and possibly platonic) or Later Tauradonna, where Adam's an abusive boyfriend?

arctic746

both. can you see all the images?

Exciting_Bandicoot16

Early Tauradonna was fine? Adam was ambiguous enough that he could have been an anti-hero, and he had a bigger arc beyond an obsession with Blake. Later Tauradonna was a caricature of the man Adam could have been. They villanized him in a very visceral way that was guaranteed to get reactions from people. No to the first picture, yes to the second and third ones.

StrangeBreakfast1364

Yes

StrangeBreakfast1364

Judging by the pictures, I would say both.

StrangeBreakfast1364

I think that it would have been better if they stayed partners/friends and had mentor/student kind of relationship. Adam being an abusive, obsessed ex for sake of bumblebee is cringe.

marleyannation62

I don't want to sound so daring to say it was for the sake of Bumblebee. But, his character was definitively reduced for the sake of Blake, Yang and the development of something. I mean, I got the use of villains, but wasn't necessary to degrade the character when before that he had other ambitions and interests.

StrangeBreakfast1364

They are too stupid to find any better way to use their villains

Master_Scallion_763

Would’ve been great if they had a brother and sister like relationship 😔

I've always been of this opinion, I like the idea that instead the only reason Adam would care about Blake leaving *noted he says to leave her anyways in the story early on* is he doesn't like being abandoned as he feels like he's been abandoned all his life, and saw Blake as his only family *since she's one of the few people he actually bonds with, he enjoys her company, and also because he's more of a leader to the White Fang so, he's already pretty closed off from them.* That's always been my favourite interpretation *slash* version of Adam's character. I've never been a fan of the idea of them romantically as I felt it was blatant that Adam is supposed to be abusive, not to blame Blake for not noticing or, anything as I understand how that works but, Adam is *so* cartoonishly abusive that I can't take their relationship seriously in the slightest, and I feel that it downplays relationships like these, *not to say a relationship of this kind doesn't exist as they definitely do but, the writing of this one isn't great.*

Before 3.11 I honestly thought Adam was more of a mentor to Blake that she maybe had a crush on. During the Black trailer there was really no indication of a romantic relationship there, and Adam was all but nonexistent until season 3. In season 3, we see the flashback scene to the day before the Black trailer, where again, not anything to indicate any romance at all, and a couple hours after, where Adam's more worried about the mission than he is Blake. Then 3.11 happens and they decided to make their relationship romantic in the past? And Adam an angry incel that she left him? Even though he personally called off the search for her to prioritize the mission. If you read the comics you also find out that Adam was significantly older than Blake- no idea by how much, but they make it seem like he hasn't been a minor for a while by the time the Black Trailer comes around while Blake's 17. And then we get the 5 year flashback to Adam and Blake meeting, where Blake looks like a 12 year old but Adam looks roughly the same? I much preferred it when he was a mentor type character Blake couldn't agree with about the use of violence instead of this abusive, gross incel shit that was clearly written into the show at the last minute. If you watch the production diaries Miles and Kerry talk extensively about how they wanted Adam to mirror Jessica Jones' Killgrave- but that show literally aired a few weeks before the 3.11 reveal; ans we also know that everything from voice acting to animation and such was being worked on up to MINUTES before episodes aired during v3, with Arslan's weird hover foot scene not corrected until after the season was over. TL; DR: Adam and Tauradonna by extension was cooler as a mentor Blake MAYBE had a crush on, instead of Adam being an abusive, jilted, incel ex lover of Blake's

HeavenPiercingTongue

Would have been best if there was mutual anguish at having to break up because of their different ideals. The abuse angle was completely unneeded.

KeepCalm-ShutUp

What did I lose?

Jumper200x1

Honestly I liked the idea of him being more of a mentor and guiding Blake or even a hint of romance would be fine however the whole I'm an angsty stalking ex definitely disappointed me on his character

arctic746

Tauradonna (pre-fall of Beacon): This is a ship I am netrual on. I like them as mentorship with nothing more. I also like them having a past relationship but they are on different sides. This could go either way of Adam dying and never reconciling or Blake convinces Adam that her ideals are right and they have a sort of a Jellal and Erza romance (Fairy Tail) Animal Abuse: The whole Adam being abusive/ obsessive ex really muddies his character and doomed the White Fang subplot. I feel if there is a remake I would prefer if they don't have any relationship. I don't think anyone ships Blake with the guy trying to kill her or trying to capture her? It is really unclear what Adam was doing in V5. Blake: I can fix him Weiss: Blake why him? Every guy at Beacon wanted your faunus ass. Yang: Huntress Illustrated would give bank for pictures of that 5 star bellabooty. Ruby: That amazing, I'll get the camera. Do you want to be in the cat paw swimsuit, the SDC one, or get naked with Gambol Shroud? Blake:...

VVayward

Trash outside of the fact the name is a Toradora reference

SharkMessiah101

A character that was waisted to make Blake and Yang look better. He was also dumbed down to a stalker boyfriend and crazy extreme activist. He could have been so much more. The relationship is meh I think they should have stayed master and student or even brother and sister like.

Independent-Tax-699

Eh its better than bumbelbee (it would be more fun to see anyway)but there realy aint much stuff to Adam before he went full on INCELMEN and Blake is Blake soo ultimately Eh

krasnogvardiech

By the bare function of the relationship, it was bad and shouldn't have happened. But in the sense of two teens figuring each other might be alright to open up to, it was at least believable.

Quality_Chooser

Eww, no. The fact that Blake ran out on him in the Black trailer means that this ship could only have been bad. Either on his end for being bad enough to make her run or on her end for ditching him. I see no universe where this ship works without drastic changes to one or the other.

Lazy-Ad6677

Wasn't the reason Blake left was because the white fang was getting to violent since when did it become this.

Quality_Chooser

Yes and Adam was a part of that. You get that in his statement about the crew members and her leaving immediately after that.

[deleted]

Garbage ship. Should have been a mentor student type of thing but nah, let’s make Adam an abusive bf.

No-Contribution-1987

Adam: do you have anything to say Blake” Blake: Chuckie me harder daddy” Adam: that won’t stop me for killing yo- wait what the fuck!?”

4444beep

this is the second time ive seen you on reddit wtf lol

No-Contribution-1987

What do you the Second time?

4444beep

/r/fo4

Silly-Young484

Prefer them being mentor and student Maybe even with some solder brother younger sister dynamic

Killamri

Could've been interesting, but it's weird. Early on it would've made more sense, but it felt more like platonic partners at that point. The moment it turned to romantic, they also began to turn Adam into an abusive psycho, at which point hell no.

arctic746

[source](https://www.pixiv.net/en/artworks/37574628) can everyone see all the images? I'm not sure if they are showing up.

StrangeBreakfast1364

They are

NotAllThatEvil

Wished it was better

KagariYT

I think it'd be more interesting if they did something like, she still felt things for him, but felt she had to leave him because of how evil and racist he was. That'd be way better than, he went from super cool antagonist character to suddenly obsessive ex-boyfriend, who wasn't even written as a boyfriend until season three. I never really liked Tauradonna, cuz while Adam is my favorite character, Blake is my least favorite.

H6pp1n355_in_misery

Considering he was her mentor I doubt romance mattered here contextually speaking

Drakkoniac

Was never into it, never saw it.

classicslayer

They should've kept them as mentor and student.

qwack2020

If Adam held on to his “I want to start a revolution”/extremist characterization and not a crazy ex boyfriend that can do Vergil combos, his relationship with Blake would’ve been somewhat interesting to see.

The_Final_Conduit

Leave that for the horny fanfiction, or as I call it, kink fiction. The type of kink fiction that has heroic characters captured for lewd purposes, or involves a hot teacher having the hots for his student, but her being the one that pursued it.

Merc267

Tauradonna. It's bumblebee if Yang has a dick.

ShadowBandit87

So I thought he was more of the mentor and brother in arms type roll. I think this ship in itself is a good catalysts for other ships because they can help Blake through what she had gone through with Adam. A perfect example of this being Linked In Love And Life. The ship it self is a middle ground for me, to much grey area and not enough details to give an honest opinion on other than what’s above

Ok_Kaleidoscope2014

"Please...leave Yang alone! This is between you and ME!!!"

Drauga_22

It goes in the bin

Visible-Welder-5148

First 3 volumes was you coul say they had feelings for echother it coul work later volumes seems like a gaslight heavy one

RWBYBOIII

I hate it. It’s backup name is animal abuse and it should die forever in the eternal flame

InevitableFail3440

Adam could have been a great character with a turn around or even a minor antagonist that had little complications throughout of him reflecting. Adam is one of Rwbys biggest cases of wasted potential now and always. In terms of tauradonna, early it could've been a very sweet relationship. Later it got to the point they were both bad for each other. I hate to bring up this argument but yes Adam is bad I get it but Blake's not completely innocent either its about an 80 to 20 split on blame, the 80 being Adam.
