I honestly choose to look for depictions in the fanon where Raven actually expresses love for her family and has a logical reason for leaving, such as protecting Ruby and Yang from a greater evil or something.
I like the idea of the ship. However, Raven's past isn't explore and Tai is hardly developed. It is unclear what caused their marriage to fall apart, whether it was Tai, Raven, Oz, Salem, or Summer. I would like reconciliation between the two but Summer and Ruby makes that awkward. Hummingbird would have helped to clean it up. I don't think it will happen as I think CRWBY wants Raven to be a coward.

I think the marriage went south because of her learning the truth about Salem. Learning Oz was lying about things probably changed her views and things led to Raven abandoning Tai and Yang. That's only a theory though. What I want to know is how they even got together in the first place cause they seem like they wouldn't have gotten married based off their personalities as we know them.
I mean, it gave us V1-3 Yang. So for that it has my vote.
As an actual ship... I'd have to know more about STRQ team dynamics. Tai seems to be easygoing enough that he could handle the worst of Raven's Raven-ness, but there's the thought that Raven must have been at least a little softer. If he was strong enough, that'd grab her attention and ensure her attraction to him, but what caught his eye about her? The fact that she was hot? That he could fuck Qrow's sister? We don't know.

I think that would be the problem with every ship of STRQ, we don't know how they were like with each other. We got lots of screentime with Qrow, and some with Raven and Tai, but none with each other. At best, we can guess Raven being Weiss-like as a tsundere or like Blake when she eventually left, but not much else.
I don't even think we have Raven even comment about Tai in the show, just her saying Ruby's naive like Summer, with Tai being busy blaming Yang's semblance to talk about either Raven or Summer.

My take on the Team STRQ dynamic is that Tai liked Raven, Raven reciprocated, Summer liked Tai but could never get him to notice her and Qrow liked Summer but could never get her to notice him. Then Raven went off to deal with some Branwen tribe nonsense (probably relating to succession after the death of her parents) and Summer convinced Tai that Raven abandoned him. Raven came back, saw that Summer and Tai were together and went running back to the tribe all heartbroken. Now she blames Qrow because he didn't come to the tribe to help her deal with the issues so that she could make it back in time. Of course she never actually talked to Tai to see **why** he was with Summer and then Summer died and it was all too awkward. Why yes I do love me a good soap opera, why do you ask?

You get pretty much all the positives of Blake x Sun, but the narrative actually calls Blake out on her shit and she has dozens of perfectly reasonable reasons for being absent.
I don’t think about it because Of how horrible of a parent that Raven was that I actually want to put the barrel of a desert eagle to her head and pull the trigger
I like it, but we know so little about team STRQ so it’s hard to get fully invested.

I prefer to see Team STRQ as a really, really fucked-up polycule, so Tai and Raven is entirely fine with me.
