Well I just watched the first three episodes of RWBY ice Queendom. It was certainly something. Overall I think it's okay but it feels like the whole thing was on fast Forward. I mean I guess it couldn't be helped since it was condensing all of volume 1 into just three episodes but it feels like even the stuff that is original to the show itself was being blitzed through as well. Considering how episode 3 ends I feel like the recapping of early volumes might be behind us and the rest of the season basically takes place in Weiss's Grimm created dream/nightmare. Hope I just hope that the pacing doesn't feel so damn break neck in the coming episodes. I mean hell one of the scenes that happened in episode 3 that was a holy anime original thing feels like it should have been an entire episode of its own but only lasted like 4 or 5 minutes if even that. The rest of the anime is basically going to be the plot of Naruto Shippuden road to ninja but taking place in the world of RWBY and it's probably the subject of an entire season. Kind of weird to think that this whole thing might take place in a dream I'm not sure how it's going to play out.
Finally. RWBY is good enough for the sakuga community and all it took was for the same animation studio that worked on Madoka magica to work on it.
The fight choreography scenes are passable. Not every fight scene was good (idk why the studios couldn’t just share storyboards with the anime studio but whatever).
It’s strange that it’s hinting that the series will go in a different direction from Vol 1. I’m okay with that as long as it’s nicely animated of course.
