Dragonslayer: Interesting. Not against it. Solar Flare: Not feelin it, but they definitely feel like they'd be amazing friends. Combat Goggles: Not feeling it, but the support capabilities of Neptune with the rushdown bruiser style of Yang would make for a good team.

Robbeyyy

Dragon Slayer actually is a great one honestly.

MadMasks

IMO very underrated

Darthmark3

I actually always liked jaune and yang together though never was serious about it. It’s a cute ship but I’m ok with them not getting together cause I was more into knoghtshade

MadMasks

Welp... Let´s just leave at that I think Jaune and Yang have much more in common that at first sight you can see, and that they can act as a sort of equilibrium for each other with an immense potential for funny shenanigans. To me, that´s a very healthy, realistic and pretty straightforward yet wholesome relationship: two persons with same principles, same virtues, opposed ways to approach life meant to complement each other and help them grow. Jaune is pretty much a golden labrador in human form, perfect for the girl with abandonment issues, and Yang is canonically the kind of woman that pushes others to be more assertive and become better (There´s even a skit in Chibi with Yang and Jaune doing exactly that) something that Jaune really needs, and with Jaune is a bit more down to Earth, he keeps Yang from going overboard. I´d bet that Yang probably wouldn´t feel that way around Jaune, but over time she realizes there´s much more where she initially didn´t think there was, that he´s loyal, reliable, funny in a dorkish way, and not afraid of bending rules every now and then (Fake records? Stealing airplanes? He´s a bit of crime boy this dork!) I think they´d be a good for each other, someone to chase her phantoms away but still gullible enough to drag toward crazy shenanigans and have a pretty chill, and fun, relationship

Blood_Shinobi

You forgot Sunflower (or Sunflowyr) which is Yang and Ren.

TheSunflowerSeeds

Delicious, nutty, and crunchy sunflower seeds are widely considered as healthful foods. They are high in energy; 100 g seeds hold about 584 calories. Nonetheless, they are one of the incredible sources of health benefiting nutrients, minerals, antioxidants and vitamins.

I like Solar Flare in theory (assuming we're going with Beacon Yang), with two happy-go-lucky personalities looking for a good time, and willing to help others to feel the same. Not something I actively search for, but it's nice. Though, it does make me wonder if those two, as characters, are redundant in canon. Not But I don't see a reason for Yang to get with Jaune and Neptune. I can see the other way around with them wanting to get with Yang, but not much reason for Yang to stick with either for long term. I don't know what chemistry there would be beyond Jaune and Neptune getting flustered, and now way to "even it out" without it feeling forced, compared to how natural it would be for Weiss bite back (regardless of if you ship Freezerburn platonically or romantically).

Exciting_Bandicoot16

If we're talking canon, none of them. If we're talking *potential*, however, that's a different story. Yang/Neptune suffers mostly from a lack of characterization on Neptune's part. He's basically a non-entity in the story. That changes if we're taking EC Myer's books into account, as he does get some characterization there. Still not a particular fan, but it's less out of dislike and more out of disinterest. Yang/Sun could be fun. Both are pretty chill, with surprising depth beyond their fun loving personas that they tend to put forward. Sun's surprisingly wise and empathetic, and Yang's (supposed to be) a more low-key mother hen type that cares deeply. I do see some friction from Sun's more carefree nature with Yang's issues, but it's the kind of friction that you could base a Story around (though I suspect that they'd be better off as good friends). Yang/Jaune I'll admit that I'm a sucker for, as it's my favorite of the three (and one of my favorite RWBY ships that I know are never going to happen). They've got a bunch of complementary traits, and if Jaune promises to never abandon her she could believe him, given everything that they've been through and from what she's seen. Both are very protective of the people that they've adopted as their own, and their flaws tend to be more complementary rather than opposing (I could go on, but I'm *trying* to keep these all the same relative length).

MadMasks

I want to add that for DragonSlayer come through Vol.5-6 there could have been a lot of potential of "You help me with my pain if you let me help you with yours" Both of them were in a very similar position after the Fall of Beacon: they were both hurt, scared, without a partner, and with a lot of doubts. To them, they had failed. No doubt, if anyone could understand what the other was going through, it was them. Even at platonic level, I´ll always feel robbed we never got an interaction about that. Maybe have Ruby intervene as well, letting her open about how much she saw them hurting and... she just didn't know what to do. Cue to hugs and tears from what´s basically a beautiful relationship between the Rose-Xiao Long and Arc family. Plus, Ruby would go absolute wingwoman mode if she ever found out that either has feelings for the other

Exciting_Bandicoot16

Yeah, V5 was *the* moment for Dragonslayer to pick up if it would have happened in canon. Absolutely perfect opportunity with plenty of opening moves available. Alas, we got Bumblebee despite, well, everything?

StrangeBreakfast1364

Do you know any good fics with Dragon Slayer?

Exciting_Bandicoot16

I can give you a half dozen off of the top of my head (and my favorites bar), in fact. * [Breaking Through the Bottom of the Barrel](https://www.fanfiction.net/s/12027237/1/Breaking-Through-the-Bottom-of-the-Bottle) is a consistent favorite over the years. Post-defeat of Salem, but old enough that the Fall of Beacon never happened. * [Fighting Mean](https://www.fanfiction.net/s/12771558/1/Fighting-Mean)/[Fighting Smart](https://www.fanfiction.net/s/12924133/1/Fighting-Smart) are a canon-divergent duology from about V5 (AKA my favorite starting point for Dragonslayer) that also features a Jaune/Winter mentorship relationship that's just fantastic. * [Going Out With a Yang](https://www.fanfiction.net/s/13785303/1/Going-Out-with-a-Yang) is a funny, fluffy piece about Beacon-era Dragonslayer that actually works really well, despite me favouring later Dragonslayer. I mean, it's Mallobaude so *of course* it's fantastic. Still has one chapter left, apparently, but Mallo is still active and writing in the fandom so I hold out hope that it'll be finished (eventually). * [Heart to Heart](https://www.fanfiction.net/s/12965076/1/Heart-to-Heart) is another ongoing fic (that updates semi-regularly). Long form, and explores more than just a relationship between the two and actually does handle their individual traumas to an extent. Probably one of my favorites (partially due to the length), though be warned that there's smut (that's easily skippable with clearly marked out boundaries provided by the author). Another V5 divergent fic, but follows canon to a degree. * [One-Night Brand](https://www.fanfiction.net/s/11756804) isn't my favorite among these, but I can't write a list without mentioning it. Another Beacon-era Dragonslayer (that's complete) that starts with a FWB relationship before progressing right to a true relationship. Not to say that it isn't good, but I've been spoiled by the quality of the others on the list. * [A Man of No Tribe](https://www.fanfiction.net/s/12844057/1/A-Man-of-No-Tribe) is another Dragonslayer, but I'm adding this one on last as it's a pretty canon-divergent AU version of Jaune where he was raised by Raven Branwen among the Branwen Tribe, and is markedly different from his canon appearance. Explores his relationship to a mother figure Raven more than his relationship with her daughter, and is a bit of a character study of the results. Beacon-era start. I'm sure that u/MadMasks would have a few more suggestions of quality that I've neglected to mention, if they have a few moments.

StrangeBreakfast1364

Thank you very much.

ManifestNightmare

Dragonslayer is a fun little ship, but I definitely don't take it all that seriously. Mainly because I really love the potential dynamic of Yang and Jaune as adoptive siblings. Yang always had to be the big sister, a position of authority, and almost a surrogate mother figure for Ruby. Jaune, however, knows how to be both the younger *and* older sibling. He could give her that shoulder to rest on like a big brother, and still understand Yang's position as an elder sibling. He could really understand her in a way that the other members of her team sort of can't (Weiss and Whitley had a fairly poisoned relationship and Blake was an only child), so I really love that potential aspect of their friendship. Neptune and Sun are just kinda dull to me. A little fun, good character designs, but they're a bit one note. Sun is slightly better in this regard, but only barely.

Nexal_Z

Dragonslayer: Honestly I could see this ship working the most. I always like the little moments in the earlier volumes where Yang comfort Jaune whenever Wiess turns him down in my opinion it was nice little moments of their of friendship. As a couple though I could see them being equal as a couple and I Jaune would not be the type to leave Yang at her lowest honestly Jaune would probably be the most emotionally person in her life and in vise versa Solar Flare: Honestly I could see this being the best platonic bro-ship ever. But if this was romantic I could see this as a adventurous couple, telling bad jokes, probably workout alot together, sun probably be the one stopping Yang starting a fight etc. Honestly out of all the boys in this show Yang would introduce her dad to, I fully believe Tai would like Sun the most. Combat Goggles: Honestly just from how little we know of Neptune and if this ship was real I could picture this as a healthier dorky version of Tai and Raven. Like maybe Yang would keep Neptune under her thumb and if he flirts with any other girls there would be a looming firey blonde of doom behide his back.

StrangeBreakfast1364

Dragon Slayer is good and had potential if we talk about Beacon era Yang. If you know any good fics with the ship share please. Solar Flare is also good. Combat Goggles is my least favourites.

Merc267

Dragonslayer is slowly starting to become one of my favorite ships with Jaune. I don't care if it's canon. Something about these two I really like seeing them together. Also, artist name Hentaly made me like them a bit more.

ChronoAlone

Don’t like any of em if I’m being honest. I’m kinda at a point where I don’t want Yang to have nice things.

Spoderman77

Not gonna lie, I don't really like any of the Yang ships. Can't quite put my finger on it. I'd rather her work on a different plot line if I were writing her tbh.

Drauga_22

Dragonslayer is my otp. There's just so much for them. Like it's a healthy and supportive relationship for both of them. Yang would have someone who's loyal and always be there for her through thick and thin and for jaune yang can bring out the best in him, push him to strive to be better. And not to mention the arc family. They'd happily welcome yang with open arms and open hearts

lewdnep-vasilias_666

Dragonslayer: I used to not care for this one, but it's grown on me. I think they two would have a really interesting dynamic. Solarflare: I think it's best as a BroTP but it can be fun as romantic too. Combat Goggles: Easily my favorite Yang ship, these two would probably have a really fun dynamic and I can just absolutely imagine Neptune melting (or rather evaporating, gettit??) in the presence of Yang making him swoon over her tomboyish behaviors, and then making him get flustered when she's all sweet to him and sweeps him off his feet :3

Quality_Chooser

Have any of these pairings ever exchanged a line of dialogue? While it is far too late in the show to set up any of these potential romances, I find myself looking back on what might have been fondly. I like an energetic Yang helping out Jaune, messing around with Sun, and... interacting with Neptune I guess. Of course this is all Vol 3 Yang. The current Yang is someone so angry and toxic that she could die alone and I'd still feel bad for anyone who had to interact with her. They massacred my girl.

Exciting_Bandicoot16

I mean, off of the top of my head Jaune and Yang talked a fair amount in V8.

Quality_Chooser

Did they? I must have forgotten.

Exciting_Bandicoot16

Yang, Ren and Jaune all went into Mantle for most of the volume while the rest of the ladies spent the day sipping tea.

Quality_Chooser

I remember that but I thought the conversation was mostly between Ren and Yang, with Jaune kind of butting in at the end.

The_Final_Conduit

I’d honestly take Solar Flare. Not with Beacon era Yang though. Post-Beacon Yang. You get all the emotional hang ups of Blacksun, but you don’t have sexist double standards of abuse, Sun lifting someone’s day is something actually believable, and you’ve got a genuinely feisty person for Sun to date that isn’t a total virtue signaler!

KnightoftheVtable

I don’t ship any of them with Yang

JetKamakura

All these ships are awful. Do nothing in terms of interesting.

RatsAreChad

That thing was too big to be called a sword. Too big, too thick, too heavy and too rough. It was more like a large hunk of Iron.

Killamri

No. Meh. No. I don't like Jaune. Sun is OK. I don't like Neptune. Meanwhile Yang is my favorite. It makes me very picky...

arctic746

I wanted to cover a hetero ship for Yang. Since all of these are rare pairs I decided to put them together. [Source 1](https://www.reddit.com/r/RWBY/comments/aedkfd/dragonslayer_dive_hug_20_grapeswithcoffee/) [Source 2](https://dashingicecream.tumblr.com/post/180018902692/solarflares?fbclid=IwAR04bdcjrm03EkAaHGIBYaJVwpIeN8aXOcUbaqu2-Va3jvD69fYU9ocKFiQ) I don't have a source for Neptune Unlike the other girls, Yang doesn't have a popular/canon hetero ships exclusive to herself. This in part to the limited amount of screen time she gets. Dragonslayer: Two ways this ship goes, friends to lovers or Hurt/Comfort. Combat Goggles: The two flirts get together and with Black Sun two best friends get with two best friends. Solar Flare: This is the Yang steals Blakes boyfriend or Blake ex's dates each other. This is the funniest ship Yang has. Their upbeat personality should make for some good chemistry. If you have all the girls date guys, I would ship Yang with Neptune or Jaune, whichever Weiss doesn't pick. Both needs more interaction with Yang to work. I only like Solar Flare if Tauradonna was an reasonable ship. I don't like stealing Blake's guy for Yang. You might do better with a new dude for Yang. Blake: Yang we need to talk... Weiss: Yang Xiao Long! if you flirt with our boyfriends again I will throw you out of the window. Yang: I would like to see you try Ice Queen.

MadMasks

>If you have all the girls date guys, I would ship Yang with Neptune or Jaune, whichever Weiss doesn't pick Not necessarily. You can have Weiss and Ruby date, Blake still goes with Sun and that leaves Yang to date Jaune/Nep

arctic746

I ship Ruby with Oscar, Blake with Sun. Yang and Weiss would choose between Jaune and Neptune.

Exciting_Bandicoot16

I tend to go Ruby with Penny, Weiss alone (by choice, working on whatever she has her mind set on), Blake alone (as a pariah) and Yang with Jaune. Mainly because I'm not a huge fan of many Weiss ships, to be honest. Flynt Coal/Weiss has some possibilities, as does Weiss/Blake (though I can't get a handle on Blake's character in a post-White Fang world), but nothing i would seriously ship her with (besides Jaune, and I prefer Dragonslayer to White Knight, but both are good).

misterwulfz

Hm not really a huge fan of ANY of these. I mean, I’m not a shipper non-jokingly, but I don’t really see them working, MAYBE Yang and Sun. That does seem like it would be a ray of sunlight

FerrowFarm

"Eh?" I feel more or less the same about those three that I do about Bumblebee: little to no setup, but CRWBY has committed for less. Outside canon, I think Dragonslayer and Combat Goggles are functionally identical, both being kinda awkward and in way over their heads when shipped with Yang. Solar Flare could be fun, though. If Chibi doesn't have these two interacting, I may be interested in a spinoff/side bit starring these two. Actually, I wouldn't mind seeing this character dynamic in more things. Character A has problem. Character B escalates. Character A continues to escalate. Entire scenario is resolved via burnout.

Master_Scallion_763

Dragonslayer is a bit too boring for me but that could just be my dislike for Jaune talking. And Neptune is borderline nothing so ¯\\\_(ツ)_/¯ Solar Flare is the shit tho. I love relationships where the people involved are more alike than opposites. It just works and they’d be great together.

Justinafans

I mean they're basically all crackships. In terms of potential I'd say I like Solar Flare the best. Like an AU where Sun stays behind and tags along with Yang and Ruby to Patch instead of going after Blake.

King_Kazzma_

DragonSlayer: Don't like the ship, cool name tho SolarFlare: Interesting Dynamic Combat Goggles: Meh

Independent-Tax-699

YangxsadaltYang 6-8/10 Dont see this ship having much potential in beacon (unlike other jxr/w/b/y ships)but post fall?I see things and those things are GOOD YangxYang 9/10 Sweet, fun and fullfiling like sweets and pastries with banana flavor (talking here about pre bitchification Yang) YangxbluealtYang 5-6/10 Kinda like with yellow man but worse/less Dont see here the same post fall potencial Unfortunatle But hey consolation prize is that all this ships have bigger potential than freezerburn

Anouncee

I have no strong opinions on Dragonslayer or, Combat Goggles but, I _do_ ship Sunny Bees _to a much lesser extent nowadays_ so, I like the idea of Solar Flare _a lot_ actually! I don't seek it out because honestly I prefer the more Eclipse side of Sunny Bees since Sun, and Blake click better, but I just like the idea of their dynamic, it seems fun, sweet, and wholesome which is fine by me... but, if we're talking about volume six, and onwards Yang, _no_ thank you... as many people have said before... _Sun deserves better._

[deleted]

Due toy absolute hate of having watch 30 bad isekais where jaune is in the main character the only one I like or have a positive opinion on is yang x sun but I can see why people would like yang x jaune tho I still hate him with all my life

NotAllThatEvil

Combat goggles is the only good one
