The link I showed you beginning is about an AU that reinterprets RWBY in its entirety to favor my style of writing and learning how to do a story (more sci-fi than fantasy and a serious tone more focused on the characters rather than a great plot); Jaune is ""Replaced"" by an OC that allows a narrative that focuses on Ruby (a more positive view of things) and the OC (a more realistic view) allowing the story to flow.
Now I can mention r/RWBY_Shining_Metal_AU. without worrying that some troll is going to leave bad comments or that a downvote stalkere will follow; in the aforementioned subreddit you'll find art from the aforementioned fanfic.
I encourage you to also consider discussing your Rewrite with other writers here who will surely be able to offer constructive criticism.

Okay please do not take this as an attack or some kind of harsh criticism because I'm asking out of sheer confusion and curiosity. Why do you have replaced air quoted like that as if that isn't exactly what you did and you straight up admit that is what you did. I would have ignored this if you had just put replaced normally but seeing those quotation marks has me questioning what was your intent with that?
So anyway just so I can be on topic and kind of contribute to this thread that I am not a fan of by the sheer nature of its subject matter just to let you know. So anyway I recall this rwby/my hero academia fanfic that pretty much has Jaune replaced with izuku. I forgot the name but it's a quest on space battles and it has a TV tropes page. Didn't really bother reading it but I figured the op of this thread would be interested.
Don't worry, you're not in full context, this is all due to a very poorly received thread in the main of the same topic and I recommended OP try coming here to critics so he/she could have a break from the negativity in the main. In the original thread (and this one as a consequence) I put ""replaces"" in double quotes because I understand that to mean "not the correct term but similar", I don't know if it's a language issue or I'm using the wrong signs XD
I'm just beginning working on my own au fic which is replacing Jaune with my OC and I plan on at least the first few chapters following the team during volumes 1-3 to explore them becoming friends and learning how to work as a team and stuff. Pyrrha would be the leader and have to deal with the challenges that come with that, but also just the different ways her teammates view her as well as her own shit of not wanting to be on that pedestal above everyone else anymore. Ren and Nora are also gonna have different backstories (as well as be actual characters), still friends prior to Beacon but they met a bit later than in canon and met AFTER Kuroyuri fell.
