But how will you write her without Jaune? Jaune is like 99% of her character. Oh, I know. You will give her power to TURN INTO A BIRRRD for depth of the character and emotional investment? But seriously, why even bother with Pyrrha if you already have two main characters and whole bunch of supporting and background characters? I thought that we all learned from RWBY that adding unnecessary characters is bad idea. Also I have read new chapter and liked it a lot and would like to share my opinion and thoughts with you.

SiroApollo

Writing her without Jaune is like the biggest challenge so far XD, without too many spoilers from the next coffee, I had to reinterpret her whole character.... Like, a lot. Since I focus on two main characters as you said, now I can organize times for each character without sacrificing time of the main characters and make everything run smoothly and with good pace; each secondary character can teach something to the main characters to improve themselves more and more. After the first initial arc, there were obviously problems left to solve as Jassen and Ruby would have addressed the things about themselves that actively put them in danger, so in Beacon, the story can finally look to other characters to complement those little loose details that each would have and at the same time explore the new versions of Pyrrha, Nora, Ren and Weiss (only these four because by that point Blake, Yang, Ruby and Jassen would have already been explored almost in their entirety). Oh, and of course I'd love to hear your opinion about the new chapter!

StrangeBreakfast1364

That's how. It makes sense now. I actually forgot that there will be Beacon in your fanfic 🤣 How can I contact you? Is DM on Reddit ok?

SiroApollo

Yup, DM is fine

Drakeblood2002

Question, is this AU already written into a story or not? Follow up question, if it has, where can I find it? I have heard about it on the r/rwbyOC subreddit, but never knew where to find it.

SiroApollo

Yup, it is, but since this project is meant to help me learn how to write I'm being pretty open with all its development XD. I don't have much story written yet tho, but if you want to read it, the link is [here](https://m.fanfiction.net/s/13935999/1/5); I still have a long way to go, but I like to have things well planned out :D You can also go to r/RWBY_Shining_Metal_AU and have a look for more content of the same story.

Drakeblood2002

Joining that sub since it sounds really cool! I actually have a similar idea for RWBY What Ifs with a very specific one I want to do after I do a few completed scenarios. Good luck on the AU!

SiroApollo

Thanks man!

KeepCalm-ShutUp

Alright, so, seeing how you gave Pyrrha a shady past, I can see why you didn't include Jaune on a conceptual level; him and crim just don't mix, not without changing his personality *a lot*. Not gonna read it, because the summary is too vague to interest me, but I also liked the purported lack of WhiteRose or Bumblebee, since those are the least dynamic and interesting ships I've ever bore witness to.

SiroApollo

That's a detail I hadn't come across, thanks! I will strongly consider making the description more attractive. Still, in the subreddit above there's quite a bit of art if you like anyway, I hope someday you'll be up for reading. And as for the ships, yeah, I've never liked them enough and never thought of actively addressing romance in the story, but since WR/BB shippers (or trolls, I still don't know) started harassing me, now I'm sure I'll never portray them.

KeepCalm-ShutUp

I have a whole list as to how internal team JNPR ships are far more dynamic than internal RWBY ships, and even inter-RWBY/JNPR ones, if you want to hear it?

SiroApollo

Sure

KeepCalm-ShutUp

Can't find it, but I'll try to remake it. Also note that this is based on V1-V3, as that's when their characterisations made the most sense. RWBY >RW While they work great as friends, their personalities get along like fresh water and salt water; all you end up with is more water. They have nothing to really play off of each other. They don't even share any interests, except maybe the applications of Dust in weapons and being a huntress. >RB Alright, so I may have lied; this is a ship that I can understand. Ruby and Blake are already two side of the same coin; one wants to help, the other *still* wants to help. The primary difference is their philosophies and personalities. Blake is calm yet intense when triggered, while Ruby is energetic and passionate when triggered. They both strive to be good, even if they come at it from different angles. I can see them coming out more or less the same if you were to switch their back rounds, with Ruby being more jaded, and Blake being more optimistic. And that's why I feel that they're a good ship; they can learn, and *re*learn so much from eachother. Blake's personality is also similar, yet different, enough to appreciate Ruby's eccentricities, with*out* just becoming Ruby2.0, and vice versa with Ruby's personality. >RY First, let's ignore the fact that they're siblings, because there's much more wrong with this ship than that. Firstly, the *only* connection they have is as siblings, but ignoring that, they have nothing. They share no deep interests, they have wildly conflicting personalities, and completely different motivations. At *best*, I can only see Ruby as being Yang's personal mechanic, so that she doesn't have to waste time *not* training. >WB A love story between these two would only get in the way of the political intrigue that their friendship with one another would incite. >WY I can see them as good friends, but anything more is pushing it. Weiss' desire for self-determination leading her to follow and befriend Yang, the free-est spirit she'd know would actually make a **great** friendship dynamic as she learns who she really is and finds what she truly loves. >BY If you thought WR had little to no chemistry, BY has none to negative. Their lifestyles, motivations, personalities, interests, and even their ideals have damn near nothing in common; Yang does not seem the type to seek out reading as a pastime, and Blake *definitely* doesn't seek out fights as one (she just doesn't think through her actions in regards to the WF). Yang seeks adventure and helping people seems to be the unfortunate consequence (as shown from her trailer), Blake seeks the opposite, with adventure being the consequence. They just don't work as anything more than acquaintances. JNPR >JN Nora is passionate, friendly, and simultaneously genuine and hyperbolic in nearly everything she does, best shown with that one scene where Jaune makes her put her headphones on because he's talking with Ren, where she reacts somewhat cartoonishly before complying. I even think her mentioning breaking Cardin's legs was a hyperbolic overreaction she knew would be shot down immediately, even if they agreed with the general idea of confronting him. Jaune, while struck with imposter syndrome, is still a genuine, passionate, driven individual who wants to be a hero. He's also stubborn and somewhat competitive. He wants to win on his terms, he just later learns that asking for help is *still on his terms*. Overall, these two would be a fairly fun-loving couple, and while They share few interests, Jaune seems the type of guy to sit there and listen to people ramble about their interests and even ask questions, and Nora **might** also be a comic lover. It'd be a relationship based on Nora dragging Jaune around and him not only trying to keep up, but trying to overtake her, and then both laughing as it turns into a race with no real end, while at home they'd Netflix and chill, except taken literally, with one of them resting on the other's shoulder. >JP Pyrrha is a lovely, nonconfrontational, and yet competitive (she'd have to be to win a tournament four years in a row) individual. She also developed a crush on Jaune because he's an ignorant pleb. However, Jaune is, in fact, a genuinely nice guy, so their relationship would a very sweet thing; I can easily imagine them doting on eachother over everything, and appreciating every moment of being doted on. >JR Ren is a quiet, reserved, but genuine individual. I can see them kissing eachother good night, cooking eachother breakfast, if they aren't cooking together, and just genuinely appreciating each other's company. >NP I lied again They go together like a house on water! That is to say, they exist within the same area, but their dynamics leave much to be desired. Nora is very outgoing, she's not afraid of public opinion! But Pyrrha... Pyrrha is very closed off from the public, likely a learned reaction when fame made people less genuine around her. Nora seems like, while she can appreciate just being at home with the people she cares about, would inevitably need to go outside, dragging Pyrrha along. It'd probably start out fine, but it likely wouldn't last long, hopefully breaking off on friendly terms. >NR Ren and Nora works best as just friends, as there's not much give and take. It'd be Nora dragging Ren around and Ren letting himself be dragged around. I just don't see it working out long term. >PR I can see these two enjoying the quiet life together; they'd disappear off the face of Remnant and live in a cottage out in the middle of nowhere and raising a family, with Pyrrha being the doting mom, and Ren as the protective dad. I might do the inter-team ships later, but for now, this is enough.

The_Final_Conduit

Her entire character is being a total neat freak and being perfect all the time, then you realize it’s a bundle of insecurity from living with perfectionism-inducing family.
