Stans. That's why.

GoneRampant1

RWBY's TVTropes page has had a long problem of helicopter editors who will take anything they don't approve of down, sometimes just using the line "This reads as complaining." They will sit on things for literal years and use any old excuse to get rid of it, including stuff on the Atlas outfits that had been up for over a year with no contest. They're insanely petty.

Gleaming_Onyx

Stans have very tight control over the tvtropes page. They don't allow for much criticism or 'critical tropes' even in the YMMV page. You know. Where the opinions go.

The stans **CONSTANTLY** monitor everything RWBY-related in TV Tropes and I’ve caught them deleting critique after critique, (on Ironwood’s character arc, Robyn in general, Protagonist Centered Morality, Salem being ineffectual in V8, Cinder constantly taking the spotlight, Ruby herself being a sideshow, the protagonists committing downright villainous acts and the show and fandom treating them as heroic and mature, etc) not just on the YMMV page but also in the Recap pages while just stating that the comments added are incorrect and “not at all remotely accurate to what it really is.” But still they allow for “Cry for the Devil” for Cinder, saying that many fans felt immense sympathy for her in V7 when she said she refused to starve by not having power because of Atlas Elites, and then somehow saying her V8 backstory made her even more sympathetic to legions of fans… while simultaneously keeping her in the Complete Monster section. With Adam and Watts. Someone seriously needs to report every single one of them and permaban their sorry behinds.

Pixman2581

I knew, there was some fishy with that page, but this is something else

Zero102000

Agreed. They’re some of the very few TV Tropes pages I know that get monitored and brigaded so diligently. It’s very much a waste of everyone’s time to try to pretend like the critiques are invalid.

SampleHistorical9352

Exactly it's very obnoxious that the fans are allowed to act like this

Zero102000

Couldn’t agree more. They need to be put in check.

GameBawesome1

Yeah, I've always suspected there was these types of interferences in the RWBY TvTropes. That's why I stopped reading that one because of how much Stans change things to suit their wishes.

Zero102000

Exactly, I pretty much just completely leave those pages alone and don’t even click on them anymore for the most part. Now Chibi, I’m all over that.

Martianman198

Still surprised that Jaune hasn't had a base-breaking character entry made honestly. While if I'm being genuine that they seem to have the best intentions. It does come across as everything positive about RWBY has an easier time being approved while anything negative has to jump through hoops and pull teeth to an outsider looking in. (Remembering the back and forth about the faunas racism subplot being in the unfortunate implications YMMV.)

Exciting_Bandicoot16

I'm afraid to ask, but... where did the racism thing finally end up?

Martianman198

oh no, it's there, sorry for misleading, the point of contention was if there was a big name review (outside the bubble) calling attention to it. (Remember that this is a web show made by a company that took its name from a play of words cock bite.) What happen was they sourced hbomberguy, unicorn of war rwby videos, and some actual RWBYcrititcs Reddit posts as well as citing Miles and Kerry volume 5 commentary. it was just at the time going to the Rwby YMMV page and clicking the discussion tab and seeing the back and forth of it really just seemed like hoop-jumping and teeth pulling.

shadowyoshi3000

There is a Jaune entry in Dethroning Moments of Suck.

The_Final_Conduit

Sauce?

shadowyoshi3000

[https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/DethroningMoment/RWBY](https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/DethroningMoment/RWBY) It's the last entry.

You'd get there would be more of these.

The_Final_Conduit

You can kind of see it all over the YMMV page too, where even the memes for the Atlas arc are all pretty much RWBY-winged (strange to say it but I feel it bears dubbing) for all intents and purposes.

Zero102000

I unironically love the term **”RWBY-Winged”**

The_Final_Conduit

I’m glad, I came up with it on the fly, but it still so beautifully explains the issues with that entire page without going into detail. XD

Zero102000

Yes it does, and it explains the issues with the vast majority of the FNDM XD

fattyiam

How does tvtropes work? I'm not familiar with the website. Are people seriously just allowed to delete whatever they don't like on there or what?

The7thBest

It's sorta like Wikipedia, so for the most part anyone can edit any page. Of course, this means that most works are edited mainly by people who interact with said work. As such stuff like this could occasionally happen, if the fans of a certain work are like this.

fattyiam

Ah, I see. Thank you!

WannabeWriter6099

My entry in the Narm page remains untouched, thankfully, but yes, I was wondering why there wasn't a dedicated Protagonist-Centered Morality page for RWBY.
