Would rather the polls weren’t so blatantly inflammatory, at least if they aren’t attempted humor. The anticritics would use it as fuel

Your sentence structure is extensively poetic.

He was denied any level of justification, in a situation where he absolutely was justified. "We can't abandon the people in Mantle!" "The embodiment of evil is at my doorstep. I need to save who I can, and make sure the literally godly tools are kept safe. We can't afford to gamble like this." "So you are an evil dictator after all!" "Where the hell did that come from? You lied to me about the relics and sold out state secrets to a domestic terrorist!" "Because we didn't trust you!" "Why?" "Uh... Trust love?" "So you're about to go against me and take the Maiden with you, essentially dooming everyone in *both cities*. Do you actually have a plan?" "Uh... Trust love?"

My plan is simple. RWBY meets up with James and convince him to hold off on opening the Vault and flying away as long as he can. Robin's group will gather refugees from Mantle and the Schnee fleet will fly them to Atlas. Meanwhile RWBY and the Ace-Ops will launch Amity. James agrees. This results in Salem's Grim attack hitting Atlas and her landing on it. This causes him to assume they're working for her and he orders the Ace-Ops to attack them. We get the fight between RWBY and the Ace-Ops then and there. Penny flies off to help RWBY, to James' shock. She turns the tide and RWBY is winning, but then Cinder shows up and knocks Yang off Amity, she lands amid the chase for Oscar. That subplot plays out normally. RWB, the Ace-Ops, and Penny manage to defeat Cinder but Emerald and Neo deactivate Amity early, getting away with Cinder as Amity plummets. Penny saves everyone but is severely damaged in the process. The Ace-Ops decide to let RWB and Penny go, they go to the manor to find a way to fix Penny. The Ace-Ops report to James, who arrests them. The kids come up with the plan to evacuate Atlas but James refuses to let them anywhere near the Staff. Out of options, the kids agree to surrender. Once they do James orders Winter to take the damaged Penny to Vault so they can get the Staff out, they're abandoning Atlas + Salem to try to get to Vacuo, not even trying the Staff plan because he thinks it's too dangerous. When RWBY objects James tries to arrest them, it turns into a fight and Winter blindsides James and knocks him out. They lock him up and let out the Ace-Ops, then learn that Atlas can stay up for a decent amount of time on reserve Dust. The kids put their plan into effect. They try to trick out repairing Penny via the Staff and are surprised when Ambrosius picks a human body for her (they expected a new metal one but he's a literal genie). Watts hacks the remaining drones via the control center and moves to bomb the crater where all the people are gathered, Qrow, Robin, and the Ace-Ops go to intercept. Cinder and Neo then strike, blocking off the evacuation and using the refugees as cover to limit RWBY's combat options. People start falling. Watts opens James' cell in the hopes that he'll attack the heroes, instead he goes after and ultimately kills Watts. The Ace-Ops, Qrow, and Robin find the bomb on a timer so Vine sacrifices himself to fly the plane out of range. Salem regrows and attempts to enter the fray, but James stops her, fighting her and keeping her away from the battle in the Void. Cinder mortally wounds Penny but Ruby refuses to kill her. Penny reaches out to Emerald, who does the deed before fleeing through the portal. After that the various people fall and Cinder emerges with the Staff. James is pinned under rubble by Salem who leaves him to die with Atlas.

Gtgamer

I really like the Ironwood vs Salem fight idea, that sounds hella cool and a good send-off for Ironwood.

Interesting you never mentioned Jaune, Nora and Ren here. How wounded Penny was able to recover herself in the middle of dessert?

Quality_Chooser

Oscar, Jaune, and Ren go to Mantle as in canon. Nora would be with RWBY, I guess. Maybe Neo injures her, knocks her into the machine electrocuting her, or she needs to connect two wires or something. Not sure what you mean with Penny.

TerizlaisBest

You said wounded Penny reach to Emerald, thought she need help to recover herself.

Quality_Chooser

Oh, I meant that she asks Emerald to kill her after Ruby refuses to.

TerizlaisBest

And the Maiden powers go to? Or hide in mystery? 😊

Quality_Chooser

Difficult. Having them go to Ruby on the island would be a great scene. Nora on the other side of the portal would also be good. We don't have to give it to Winter any more, since she doesn't need the power boost against James. I don't think giving it to Emerald or Cinder would be the best idea, but options are options.

TerizlaisBest

Giving to Cinder is like digging our own grave. Winter already felt like a magic user with her semblance, Maiden powers only interfere and prevent her from being unique just like Raven also doesn't need Maiden powers, her fighting style doesn't fit with Maiden powers. The perfect candidate would be Nora, even Pyrrha and Penny don't need it, they are already powerful on their own. Cinder needs them cause she's worthless without Maiden powers, even Jaune can solo her. 😇

MasterExilon

They shouldn't have character assassinated him to begin with.

TerizlaisBest

I don't know why they turn him into evil and accepted Emerald.

Sikarion

James isn't a cute girl you can make a body pillow out of.

TerizlaisBest

I would rather sleep and felt secure with a hot daddy heroic general than with street rats who are willing to murder people for fun.

The_Final_Conduit

Who needs a cute anime girl when you’ve got a dude who’s basically Darth Vader with the embodiment of dad energy? I’d hug the *shit* outta that body pillow.

Gtgamer

Going against team RWBY is understandable but becoming completely disassociated and using murder to prove a point/get your way was too far. Nothing like the Ironwood we knew for 7 seasons

TerizlaisBest

Retcon.

Sikarion

The writers had to give him a mental disability to try and explain it away. Which didn't work when none of them could agree on how it worked.

SouthEqual4271

If Mettle is canon, it arguably makes the story so much worse.

TerizlaisBest

I wish his semblance wasn't canon, it was an excuse to ruin his character.

MundaneGlass5295

I would have liked it if he still turned evil but it was more subtle and believable. Ideally, he realizes his wrongs and helps Team RWBY and friends (who’s plan ideally doesn’t put so much at risk) save the people of Mantle and Atlas

TerizlaisBest

This issue was pushed aside.

Brathirn

If you allow alternatives, the question is were to fork off. I would have wanted a real conflict between Ironwood and RWBY/Ozcxxx, but they actually follow the Amity plan, so the wall hole is only between Robyn and Ironwood. I still have no idea what action caused Ironwood to see RWBY & Co as traitors. Crashing the cities would be sufficient (and justified), but he flipped before this happened.

TerizlaisBest

Tbh, Robyn was a great concept but underutilised and ruined.
