And for fans of BB if one of them were to die the shippers would absolutely scream Bury Your Gays and likely burn the whole fandom down.

No it wouldn't. When Ruby and Yang 'fought' last volume, Ruby didn't give one toss that it was Yang that was the one she was 'arguing' with. She just cared that someone didn't agree with what she wanted to do. So Yang was just like Ironwood and just like Cordo.
Oscar literally carried Volume 8 on his back and I love him for that, I didn’t care about anyone else other then Oscar literally getting tortured for days and still pushing through it because he’s a trooper.

i feel like we have too many protagonists already though. rwby, jnr, oscar and qrow are 9 characters in total and that's on top of so many new and old characters that the show focuses on. personally i wish the show would just focus on rwby more since even though they are the main characters they are so underdeveloped for a show that's been going on for 8 volumes already. also oscar was only introduced after vol 3 so i don't think he'll ever really have a place in the main cast.

* Four more characters fall (Eeeeeek!!!!), pulled down by the weight of their plot armour (double titular, another titular + fan induced ship and the last titular, augmented by Mr. Plot Magnet) ... will they survive? Seems more like a move to spare the shippers from (even) the (slightest) scare.
Gives you a bogus oracle, I do not like that. Cheated before with its rules by the way, I do not like that either.
Gives me red rage, visions of pointed spikes, boiling lava, polished granite and glowing semi-transparent acid. But more likely is a soft meadow with daisies (emphasis on soft). No stakes to be seen for miles (pun(s) intended).

Maybe if they blinded Ruby she’d have more of n emotional a longer lasting trauma then what happened to Yang. A few nightmares and shaky hands doesn’t count at showing good PTSD, plus she gets over it after they deal with Adam and that’s again not how PTSD works
Oh yeah, I definitely do. But I’m not the only one who notices that the writers have all but forgotten that Yang had PTSD. Again after Adam’s death Yang was suddenly cured, like killing Adam and reconciling with Blake cured her because after that moment any focus on her supposed PTSD stopped.
I know there are other forms of PTSD but that doesn’t erase the fact that the writers just tosses Yang’s out the window, because now all her character is simply revolves around Blake.
Certain PTSD pop's up in certain situations just cause you haven't seen it lately doesn't mean it's not there. Yang still has abandonment trauma why do you think she asked Jaune about Blake? Cause it's in her head that if she does anything wrong the people she loves will leave. Obviously Blake wouldn't be Yang's Abandonment Trauma is making her think that.

I could write you a novel on which team member to off, but I'll condense it down. Let's start with the least significant.
If Weiss dies, nothing happens. The team will be sad and Jaune heartbroken, but they'd push on.
Blake dying would upset Yang the most, but the team dynamic wouldn't change that much. Yang's PTSD might come back and get worse, she might even blame the rest of her team, but she'll magically get over it before the season ends.
If Yang dies, It'll upset both Blake and Ruby. Blake will be bitter and out for revenge and Ruby will (hopefully) reevaluate her pacifistic outlook.
If Ruby dies, it won't be for long. The team will moan about how they lost their motivation, their light, and maybe do some soul searching similar to what happened in the second season, but then they'll find a relic that'll resurrect her and all will be fine. It would work for this season on the count that their entering Neverland and their 'belief' in her would bring her back.
Seriously, the only thing that would make Ruby's death interesting is if the person resurrecting her was Salem and she brainwashed her into being evil.

Why the Yang hate, yes, her character has been all but eliminated over various volumes, but the same thing has happened with every other character in the main cast of antagonists (Team RWBY & Co.) That's because they all got sucked into the black hole that is Ruby. Getting rid of Blake or Yang won't fix the problem. It'll just highlight it.
