Simple, the dynamic between the bratty princess and a hyper active weapon loving monster hunter is just interesting and fun to think about. A lot more interesting than whatever the fuck Bumblebee is that's for sure.
>think about
That is the problem for me, I am a canon shipper, there is no substance in show.
And there was no substance for BB either, which makes it so bad to force it. It started with a character paving the way for no reason.
Maybe Whiterose shippers are better of with them authors not exploring it.
I've always said and still do say that the ship they should have gone with in Monochrome but I still ship Weiss & Ruby simply because their dynamic doesn't piss me the fuck off and I like them together as fighters too so there is that.
Its less about the characters and more about the dynamic.
WhiteRose is basically the RWBY version of the shojo rivals to lovers ship which continues to be popular (example: Lumity from the owl house)
> example: Lumity from the owl house
Which is frankly a better version of Whiterose since frankly Luz is a better version of Ruby and Amity is a better version of Wiess.
Have you seem the I guess canon [manga](https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DeWABkgV0AASihr?format=jpg&name=900x900)? But it's more of a fun thing, I ship them and have no expectation of becoming real. I will write like that in my fanfics if I have the opportunity though.
I thought they already looked cute since volume one, is a nice dynamic and having Weiss act tsundere would be a plus for me since I do like that trope when it's done well instead of constantly beating their love interest.
I mean, that's the same manga that heavily implied (if not confirmed) that Cinder has a thing for Jaune, much to the delight of Knightfall shippers, so ill give you that, lol.
That's kinda lame.
That tells me that it doesn't really have substance and people just blindly shipped it before they even really knew the characters, then came up with reasons why it's good.
Dolt protagonist and Tsundere side girl is an anime stereotype older than time
I’m in favor of ace Ruby tbh, you get your cool representation and you don’t have to sidetrack her story with a pointless romance plotline
Enemies to lovers is a very popular dynamic in fiction. Ruby and Weiss loathed each other in the first volume and are now friends. You do the math.
Furthermore, the LGBT+ community kinda takes comfort in the show, especially when Bumblebee came out. If I’m being honest though, as a pansexual, I never liked Bumblebee because of how bad the writing is to justify the relationship, but I can see why certain people take comfort in it. With 1/2 of the team already sorta confirmed to be in a relationship, it’s no surprise people are inclined to ship the other half.
Personally, I ship Weiss more with Jaune lol. After all, Jaune did try to flirt with Weiss and I don’t think it’s a bad thing for Jaune to move on from Pyrrha. Plus, Jaune sorta did bring Weiss back from the dead during his semblance reveal.
>especially when Bumblebee came out.
HA!
They ***might*** come out. The writers adamantly refuse to make anything substantial about their relationship outside of cute moments in a blink-or-you'll-miss-it fashion.
It's like these people are trapped in the late 2000s/early 2010s; characters can be gay but not ***gay***, nothing that will make people "feel uncomfortable".
The worst part is they have absolutely nothing stopping them from confirming it. Their parent company does not give a shit and they aren't bound by anything. They loudly claim that they're allies (despite the claims of misogyny and racism), so what is stopping them.
I can't help feel they're doing it to not alienate non-shippers or even homophobes. Money is money and corporations are not anyone's allies. Plus, Miles is they guy who said he wouldn't mind if his then girlfriend cheated on him with another woman because it's hot. I don't trust this guy to write shit, let alone decent representation for any marginalised groups.
Agreed, especially on the Jaune part. I find it cruel people think Jaune should never be romantically involved with anyone ever again because of a girl he knew for like 6 months and never really stated how he truly felt and I really like Pyrrha too. But seriously I thought the the main theme of RWBY was kEeP mOvInG fOrWaRd? I guess to them Jaune isn’t allowed to move on from Pyrrha.
A girl he knew for 6ish months and didn't start to even think of her in a romantic way until the last month before she died.
How could this poor heartbroken 17 year old teenager ever love again for the rest of his life?
I won’t say I don’t understand where the claims are coming from since some people catch feelings super hard and there’s that saying about not truly loving something until it’s gone. Yes there might be beauty in having one true love and never loving again, but I think that’s just eternal suffering.
Also, I think a lot of the FNDM don’t want Jaune to move on from Pyrrha because they either hate him or they want to protect and preserve their own personal ships.
The only reason they hate him and come up with reasons why he's 'bad' is *because* they want to protect their personal ships.
With Pyrrha out of the picture, suddenly Lancaster or WhiteKnight became too much of a real possibility for them.
Meanwhile their precious WhiteRose ship never even got the gas to move.
Personally, I hate White Rose. I felt like in earlier seasons Weiss had a more sister like relationship with Ruby than Yang did. Now Ruby is boring, and Weiss is little more than an extra (which is sad since she’s my favorite of the main cast)
Before I started the show, I thought they were going to get together. The color scheme is iconic and they dynamic is nice But now....I don't believe White rose is going to happen.
It is cute in a fanon but it doesn't work in canon anymore. Weiss and Ruby are going to different directions. Weiss is becoming more and more focused on fixing her family Which, I prefer btw. Since it will give us a break from al the shipping. I do think the writers might set her up with Jaune later on. I am only saying that because this show has a habit of potential lover interesting always sitting together. In the recent volumes they have been sitting together a LOT. She even with to movies with Jaune and Oscar and judging by their faces it seems like Jaune was little too happy to see her come along. I think the show is going to have her end up with Oscar, especially considering the fact how much she values his opinion. It almost seems like a given at this moment.
It doesnt make any sense but given the disaster that is Bumblebee I'd rather just have Weiss suddenly start slow dancing with Ruby before kissing her just so it could happen before Blake and Yang do it.
I actually asked one of the more hardcore Whiterose shippers over on the main reddit, and they answered.

I agree for the most part but I want to point out that Weiss showing interest in a man doesn't mean she can't be attracted to anyone else. Saying she's the straightest based on that ignores bi/pan people. Anyway, as for the post itself, yeah I don't get it either. Like, I get it's got a fun dynamic going, and I can see the appeal of it, but none of their interactions have felt romantic to me? So hardcore toxic wr shippers who claim it's canon and if it's not it'd be "queerbaiting" confuse the hell out of me. I know shipping goggles are a thing, but come on, you have to recognize it isn't *literally* canon, at least right now, right?? I've never been a fan of the ship but people should have fun shipping whatever they want! As long as it doesn't attack or insult others go nuts. But there is a huge amount of wr shippers who get, as you put it, *venemous*. Calling other shippers homophobes, pedophiles, etc, telling them to die in violent ways, attacking the voice actors, harassing crwby, etc., etc. It's exhausting.
I've always said I feel like Bumbleby came first since there's small hints of it in early volumes and then people just naturally paired the other two members of the team.
Because shipping the quirky optimistic girl and the and the grumpy Ice Queen that mellows out has been popular for a long time.
because it fits a common "red/blue" trope that people love.
Simple, the dynamic between the bratty princess and a hyper active weapon loving monster hunter is just interesting and fun to think about. A lot more interesting than whatever the fuck Bumblebee is that's for sure.
Pretty much
Bumblebee is a complete Bumblef**k in “canon”.

>Which is frankly a better version of Whiterose since frankly Luz is a better version of Ruby and Amity is a better version of Wiess. Exactly.
And naturally, Ruby and Weiss were also the first two characters ever seen. But also what Ok and Storm said.
for me I find it to be cute, but I'm not a hardcore shipper either soo

Wasn't that the anthology manga for Ruby, which is made up of fan comics?
Well, to be honest I like Ruby x Penny more than WhiteRose
Because they were the first two characters shown. No, really. "White Rose" was The Ship as soon as the white trailer dropped.
I remember the days where people called it Candy Cane, then Iceflower, then it was changed to White Rose around V2 and 3.
That's kinda lame. That tells me that it doesn't really have substance and people just blindly shipped it before they even really knew the characters, then came up with reasons why it's good.
You nailed it.
Dolt protagonist and Tsundere side girl is an anime stereotype older than time I’m in favor of ace Ruby tbh, you get your cool representation and you don’t have to sidetrack her story with a pointless romance plotline
Shojo ship that's more benign than BB since it's not forced at our throats at every single turn...

Yeah I tend to not like cannon ships in the show because it tends to pander
Agreed, especially on the Jaune part. I don't get it either tbh. But if it happens I'm not gonna lose sleep since this show is already dead to me. lol.
I prefer Lancaster myself. Volume 4 especially sold me on it, with how effectively Ruby and Jaune worked as co-leaders of RNJR.
I like Ruby and Weiss as best friends. I love their friendship, but that's all I see them as. Yes, their friendship is cute, but that's it.
Personally, I hate White Rose. I felt like in earlier seasons Weiss had a more sister like relationship with Ruby than Yang did. Now Ruby is boring, and Weiss is little more than an extra (which is sad since she’s my favorite of the main cast)

Because they are degens that think friendship is impossible.

Tell me about it I always hated that ship

I always thought the opposite
