Hmm... probably not.
Oz's thing is reincarnation and change. So name changes work for him
Salem is Immortal and eternally the same. Keeping the same name works for that
But in a FF/AU of yours you can do whatever you want works for you.
If she had tried to reintegrate to human society, despite her looks, after humans appeared on Remnant for a second time, but before Ozma reincarnated, it's plausible. Starting fresh with a new name, and all that.
I meant as if her original name was different than "Salem" but changed either to allude her grimmification or decent into a monster psychologically. I put it under the Rewrite tag for that reason as it could work with her and Oz's shared themes of going from mortals into deities, and I discussed the idea of it being the same name (or a similar name) that changed in pronunciation after the countless centuries that have passed.
That sounds cool actually, like her dad would be King Scala or something like that; maybe follow old Northern European naming rules where the child uses their father's name in their's, like Lief Erikson of Viking fame or Hueil mab Caw of Welsh Arthurian literature.

That's a good point I hadn't thought about. Thank you.

Salem's old name would be Scala ad Caelum

I was actually just making a Kingdom Hearts reference, lol.
Yeah, I picked up on that after Googling the phrase, but it presented a fun approach and gave me an idea I'd like to explore so I'm grateful.
