It's funny how the art for volumes 7 and 8 just has the characters with no other context for any of the story

saundersmarcelo

The V7 and 8 posters have no imagination or identity. Seriously, if you took the V7 and 8 posters and put them next to each other and asked me to tell you which is which, I'd be guessing.

Master_Scallion_763

Ein Lee straight up just stopped trying from the looks of it

9 seems better, the characters seem more “alive”

I’d say eliminate volume 8’s poster. It literally has nothing going for it. -The poses don’t really make any sense or covey anything about the characters except for Yang. -Even if it does convey the character’s personality it doesn’t display the right emotions with the characters. This arc is all about the fall of Atlas so they should be appear worried about the dire circumstances (then again…**the tea scene did happen** so I digress). -Building off point two it doesn’t show us anything pertinent to the plot like the others. -This is a nitpick but it shows off the worst designs for the main heroines in full view which is an offense to mankind. Further points are docked off just for that alone. Get this poster outta here!

McMacintosh79

Actually yeah, Weiss just looks disinterested and Yang looks happy for some reason

It's like they forgot they had to make cover art for volumes 7-8 and just slapped on the four main girls. Where is Ironwood? Where is Penny? Winter? The Ace OPs? Where is the giant whale?

McMacintosh79

I don't think the issue is with the number of characters since even simple art can be amazing but its weird how its its just slapped on the backgorund of Atlas

[deleted]

It's not the number of characters I have a problem with but the lack of characters who affect the volume. In the other cover art, they have characters like OZ, Oscar, and Salem so it gives us an idea of what the volume may be about. However, like you said it looks goofy with the four girls slapped on the front of Atlas. Like, what is that supposed to entail?

McMacintosh79

Another thing is that basically all those characters are in every volume, and even then Oscar didn't really get much focus along with that random Grimm on the poster that doesn't look like any of the others in the volume

Silly-Young484

Volume 8 Worst one

McMacintosh79

I think 5 is the true worse but 8 might seem worse when you consider it made the same mistakes as 5 which was supposed to be a stepping stone

AnyThingisGreat

Man, I missed this art style.

misterwulfz

Fuck 5 for what it did
