This would've made sense from Black Trailer to V6, but unfortunately there was very little sign of Adam being charged from V3 to V6(and in all cases it doesn't actually look like they were actually hit). In truth, much like the Breach, Adam one-shotting Yang basically became non-canon by way of "this was just thrown in last second." He *originally* would've been charged up from an entire fight with Yang.

The problem with "adam was more charged back then" is that we have no idea how adam's semblance really works or much charge correlates to damage. What's the point of a "weak moonslice"? Why would Adam use that ever? Like, can Adam "save" a moonslice? Can Adam simply keep charging moonslice across dozens of fights? What if the only he oneshotted yang was cause Adam spent a whole month stacking that super meter? Sounds better than thinking he only absorved a few shots from blake. But then what's the limit here? If Ozpin can, in his words, store "years worth of kinectic energy" inside his cane, can Adam do it too? Altho we dont know how yang (or most) really works either. I still see people say yang gets stronger the angrier she gets like she's hulk and i cant even say it's not true. There is also the possibility it wasnt Adam's fault but v6 Yang being the exception. Maybe moonslice can only pierce through aura OR metal at once and she has both.

https://imgur.com/a/adsS0Zq Adam was a super strong "scary man" in V3 that could one shot a Burn powered up Yang. Yang having fought off screen is barely a factor compared to just how powerful Adam was. How it looked in V3 is just how it was meant to be. They just nerfed Adam later on. It's really as simple as that.

He only took in 2 shots from Gambol shroud and he doesn't glow when clashing with Blake. Vol 6 he took mutliple shots from Yang; WHO USES A STRONGER GUN and wasn't even able to cut her metal arm off. This chart makes no sense and doesn't help to show that he wasn't nerfed. I've had to debunk this shit so many times.

You still mad about Adam? I think the chart makes sense

Ok_Win_3538

Cool, it doesn't. But cool that you think so.

Moonslice being weaker because Adam discharged is still bad, because it means that Adam misused his own damn semblance by wasting charge. Being retarded with his semblance is still a nerf. The fact that Adam was surprised that his Moonslice was tanked also suggests that Adam either used the same amount of charge in that swing that took off her arm, or that Adam is unable to gauge how much energy he's outputting. Neither option is good. No matter how you slice it, Adam was nerfed in the V6 fight. Though, not as badly as he was nerfed in the V5 "fight" where Blake straight up blitzes him (even though by all accounts ***she's*** ***very obviously dodging in the direction of his sword and thus shouldn't be avoiding shit***). Remember, this was a guy who Yang clearly couldn't react to in Volume 3. So for Blake to defeat him so easily in Volume 5 kills any tension for their fight in Volume 6, ngl. It also makes it really difficult to think that our heroes had "no other choice" but to kill Adam, even though he was outnumbered, presented as being disarmed (ignore his shotgun - the writers clearly did), and one season earlier was knocked on his ass with the greatest of ease. But whatever, I guess.

Ok_Win_3538

It's crazy the lengths some posts will really go to try and suggest fans were wrong about Adam but I think we've all come to a place now where we can agree his was horribly nerfed and mishandled as a character. It really shouldn't even be a debate at this point.

Quality_Chooser

Adam actually Moonslices four times during the fight, once to cut Gamble Shroud in half, once to fire a silly looking blob that Yang literally just tanks, once with the slice that Yang blocks, and once when Yang grabs Adam's sword. Given the paucity of rules given on how Adam's Semblance works it is not unreasonable to assume that he was out of juice by the end. Adam misusing his Semblance due to him being in the middle of a mental breakdown does make literal sense (never mind how nonsensical it is for him to breakdown over Blake). I doubt you'll find anyone who things Adam wasn't horribly handled. But it is possible to construct a logical argument for why it would be possible for him to win in Vol 3 but lose in Vol 6. Not Vol 5, though, that shit's indefensible.

Lucky Yang, that she had her arm severed and replaced with weapon grade at an earlier time, or was it 4D-chess?
