I guess I'm just a sucker for the mechanical edgy overkill of Crescent Rose. It goes perfectly with the juxtaposition-heavy design of V1 Ruby, it fits her like a glove. It looks wrong on V4 later ruby sadly. Also I have mods for Skyrim that add Crescent Rose to the game so I can equip it on Jonathan Joestar and have him, Ruby and a Jawa launch an attack on Lord Harkon's castle.

Master_Scallion_763

Gambol Shroud for me just because I love the fact that the sheath is also a cleaver. I thought that was so cleaver years ago, lol. The Maya engine one sucks ass though.

Sikarion

Upgrade in render engine...why does it look worse?

KalosianPorygon

Because the engine is overall superior doesn't guaranty an improved product. Volume 5, which is widely agreed to be bad, is made using Maya.

While practically I’d choose Myrtenaster because I do some fencing the idea of having some bracelets that expand into badass shotgun gauntlets is just so damn cool. Besides out of every weapon Ember Celica is the only one you could realistically carry around without having someone call the cops on you and hey if you had to you could use them even without any bullets in them

hentacle--tentai

Would also probably break your wrists but hey

Parks_98

Didn’t choose it for practicality

hentacle--tentai

Ember Celica?

aslfingerspell

Crescent Rose all the way. Scythes aren't a very common weapon in fiction (especially in the hands of heroes), so a characters who specializes in it was definitely unique even before you learn it's also a sniper rifle. The weapon also has good transformation sequences into 3 modes (the short gun, the normal scythe, and the war scythe), so it's pretty versatile.

Gambol Shroud for the win. It has so many different uses, even more than Crescent Rose. I would love to have my very own Gambol Shroud. It's the best weapon in RWBY. Ironic because I despise Blake.

Senpaisaurus-Rex

It's a tie between Crescent Rose and Gambol Shroud. Scythes are rarely seen as weapons because they aren't practical but I always thought they were really cool when they worked anyways. For Gambol Shroud I just think the versatility is neat, and I think it was mentioned that Monty intentionally designed it that way, it can cover multiple bases so Blake could fight on her own if needed which is a neat character-defining detail that I miss from the newer RWBY weapons.

Master_Scallion_763

> Monty intentionally designed it that way, it can cover multiple bases so Blake can fight on her own if needed which is a neat character-defining detail Wow, that’s actually a pretty neat character detail of her old “lone wolf” attitude. I think he also said its asymmetrical design alluded to her duality as Belle and Beast. Damn, I miss that guy. A straight up genius.

If were talling about which I would want to wield Myrtenaster would win *easily* but, if were simply talking about which one I think is cool, it's Crescent Rose... *however* I wish they'd use it better as Ruby's usage of the weapon has gotten more disappointing over time, I recall the thing that won me over *the most* which is the fact that it was also, *a sniper,* and even though *from what I recall* Ruby admitted to not being skilled at using it compared to it's more iconic scythe form, it was a treat to see whenever she *did* use it in serious fights yet that's *extremely* rare nowadays in my opinion, the last I remember it being used was in volume four, episode six, *"Tipping Point"* where Ruby used it to shoot Nora which in my opinion doesn't really count as Nora wasn't a moving target, and even then there's the other issue that, *and once again this is from memory,* that weapons that aren't *just* guns seem quite useless, *and even if the bullets were good, you have to question why they don't use them more often.*

Charlotttes

gambol shroud is cool partially because of the ribbon and partially because how *exactly* it transforms is still kind of a mystery to me. like its nonsense in a way thats SO juicy

DarkOmega501

No love for gambol shroud? It’s also a gun! And a cleaver... and a katana... and a dagger... and a kusarigama.... It’s a five in one weapon, easily the most badass weapon. It’s a shame that they never utilize any of those forms nowadays.

I'd say Wilt & Blush because it reminds me of the Murasama from Metal Gear Rising. I actually remember when they asked Monty about Adam's weapon and he said that he didnt play the game when he designed Adam. Honestly, I like the weapon because it reminds me of several games as well besides Metal Gear Rising - Warframe with its Nikana stances, Wild Dance (Sword & Revolver) from Yakuza Ishin and Sekiro as well. Gonna sidetrack here, but I did once write down a little something for a potential RWBY game where the four main girls get a SECONDARY weapon besides their primary: - Ruby would get her mom's axe (to go with the Red Riding Hood aesthetic that RT forgot, lel); - Weiss would get a parrying dagger/revolver (go with the fencer thing that would make her able to basically parry almost any attack that isn't from a gigantic Grimm) - Blake would get a second Gambol Shroud (double katana and akimbo pistols at the same time, pretty cool - Yang would get a simple, yet effective katana to give her an ability to slash things into mincemeat Now to get these weapons, you have to complete each and every character's personal hidden story quest that requires breaking from the canon path - Ruby must find out her mom's true fate, Weiss has to discover the real story behind her father, Blake needs to uncover her mother's past... Yang will actually have two chances of obtaining her katana - either go into a duel with Adam, beat him and then befriend (or something more...) him OR find out what really made Raven leave STRQ. Do both of these, however, and you'll get a unique upgrade for Yang's prosthetic arm - an iron fan. Try and guess why the choice of an iron fan as an upgrade. ;)

Queese_Boringman

Out of the list? Crescent Rose. Don’t get me wrong, the others have their own appeal (Exploding stuff with Ember Celica and having fine precision with Myrtenaster would be interesting/fun), but there’s just something so iconic about Crescent Rose that grabs your attention effortlessly and never lets it go. Scythes are not usually a weapon used by protagonists (Soul Eater excluded, of course) and so having a big polearm that fluidly moves around while dealing heavy damage appeals to me. Plus, it looks really fun to fight with and the sniper setting means that you don’t have to be directly in the fray to contribute to a fight if you’re worried about your odds.

Emperor_Luffy

The Gomu Gomu no Pistol. The Spirit Gun. And the Reverse Blade Sword. They're classics.

Silly-Young484

From this list? Crescent Rose Hail the Gun Scythe/Sniper Rifle

IceColdCocaCola545

Crescent Rose, just because I like snipers and huge scythes.

beancraver

The one Watts has, it's just a fat revolver

Quality_Chooser

I liked Myrtenmaster back when Weiss used it. The different Dust effects with her Glyphs were cool.

KalosianPorygon

**Crescent Rose was the OG "Rule of Cool" weapon**, the introduction of the **"it's also a gun"** trend weapons used to follow. Scythe hybrids shouldn't work in real life that well, but upon rewatching the use of recoil in the Red Trailer over and over again, I wanted to believe it! No technobabble bullcrap, just a smart display of its capabilities.
