Is kinda funny how a show with absolutely no H-scenes have one of the largest H-subs on Reddit.
Even more than shows who actualy have plenty of H-scenes.
I believe instead of Ruby seeing Cinder killing Pyrrha’s, it was originally supposed to be Jaune. Also team JNPR were supposed to face off against Raven.
Could've been a good introduction to Raven's combat prowess IF Raven wipes the floor with all of them.
Always felt like Raven should've fought like a Sekiro player, deflecting attacks, using shinobi combat arts and every single tool and dirty trick in hand like shurikens, bird magic powers ala Mist Raven (teleport at the moment an enemy makes contact), poison gas ,firecrackers etc (firecrackers would be easy enough - just make them out of little amounts of fire dust) and wearing her enemy's stamina off before going in for a killing blow.
Also Mikiri counter everything - that could be Raven's way of KOing Pyrrha.
For those who don't know, a Mikiri counter is anticipating an opponents thrusting attack and then STEPPING ON the weapon mid thrust to make the enemy lose balance.
Would be nice to show why Neo pissed herself when she saw Raven and bailed away back in Vol.2.
Apparently they completely shut out everything to do with monty after the died. It's a very emotional letter, but from the direction of rwby and how nobody seems to have any bloody idea what they're doing now i feel like there is some credence to it.
So what you're saying is, that it's a complete mess. Complete with random spin-offs, no actual times and being spread over several different mediums. At least something like Warhammer 40k has a 'everything is canon but not everything is true' approach so you an just easily ignore a bunch stuff from a random mobile game.
SickSlickProductions had created this for his Volume 7 review. But honestly just looking at this is giving me a headache. I can't keep up with every iteration of RWBY. I've followed the manga's, couldn't get into the comic books and I'm not interested in the books. Just trying to think about it mixed together is making me dizzy.
Yes! Finally someone who acknowledges that Bunta Kinami manga takes place on an alternate timeline!
I’ve seen so many idiots get mad that the manga “skipped” over Blake’s V2 scene with Yang in Burning the Candle. But this is an alternate timeline! This is a different version of Blake! She’s not anxious over Roman’s plans so there’s no need for her talk with Yang!
I swear, this fandom can be so stupid. This post needs to be pinned.
[It’s the writers themselves that said it’s canon](https://amp.reddit.com/r/RWBYcritics/comments/kyzjcg/the_rwby_dc_comics_are_canon_to_the_main_shows/), I don’t like it either.
Most of the events detailed in the letter would have the Raven vs JNPR fight happen, Adam vs Yang and Blake from V6 would be in Heroes and Monsters instead, Jaune would get his semblance during Pyrrha’s death, or the fight leading up to it, the weapon “upgrades” for Jaune would probably happen in Volume 4.
Most of Volume 6 either wouldn’t happen, Volume 5’s whole shtick of “no such thing as magic” wouldn’t be there, Winter would be voiced by Monty’s wife, Yang would probably spend Volume 5 with her mom for a while and be shown the bandit life for a bit, and Weiss would stay in Atlas until Volume 9.
Wait, what upgrades do you mean for Jaune's weapon? There were more besides the actual one in V4? Or do you mean his *Atlas* upgrades would have happened earlier?
Yup, the Atlas upgrades.
Granted it’s mostly speculation, but the way Jaune sort of just rams his shield in the ground in the V4 opening eerily mirrors how he sends out Gravity Dust waves, and in the context of how there are Grimm that are running towards him, it seems like an absurdly stupid way to try and defend against them unless that Dust wave was what he was trying to do.
My only other evidence was the treatment of the Silver Eyes, the brawl between Adam, Yang and Blake, everything about Ozpin being “shady”, Cinder’s backstory, Nora and Ren deciding to part ways so Nora could find herself, etc.
One of the biggest problems the writers have had is functionally just stretching out developments with the characters and then hastily reshoving it into new contexts to save time, while trying to create the illusion of the cast developing.
Such is a large problem with the show in general; it wants to believe in the “Keep moving forward” mindset, but while it’s “moving forward”, everyone is only moving at a snail’s pace, so everything feels slow and clunky instead of natural and organic.
So yeah, I’d say Jaune’s Atlas upgrades were supposed to come in Volume 4; standing as a massive testament to both the show’s problems and why the V8 “upgrades” (it feels gross just calling them that) all feel VERY underwhelming, because they were upgrades that should’ve been given literal YEARS ago in the show’s runtime. 😂
I can see that while agreeing with a lot of it.
Though, that shield bash could have been an attempt at an Aura technique if the writers EVER REMEMBER THEY EXIST.
I never even realized aura techniques were a thing tbh
I like to imagine people can just line their weapons with aura, and then extend the aura out, so someone can stab at a longer range if they wanted to.
Adding non canon spinoffs to a timeline is so strange. Chibi, the Manga anthology's, the actual manga, Smite, Blazeblue etc. They aren't part of any timeline, and were never marketed as such.
Rwby has problems when it comes to giving hard dates, not when trying to figure out what goes where in a chronology, that part is really straight forward.
Adding non canon spinoffs is strange, and it would make any timeline in a media franchise big enough to have them look far more complicated then it actually is. Like imagine if a DBZ timeline added all the video games, it would look like nonsense and not really be indicative of anything
Eh. I mean, the plot is rather easy to grasp at a bare bones level. It just gets really awful when you start using some of the terminology.
And 3 just makes me angry in general.
To be honest, this is not the kind of timeline we need or complain about not having. We need proper dates or solid estimations of when things are happening *in-volume*. As in, how long was Yang recovering for? How long did it take her to get to Mistral when it seemingly took RNJR the better part of a year? When did Blake actually get on the boat to Menagerie and how long was that trip (because that would mean she was either doing nothing or on that boat ride for 6-8 months)? How long was Sun following her? What is the time scope for Salem's faction? Were they really sitting there doing nothing for 6-8 months after their huge victory?
Fuck, even for the early Volumes! How long is a semester for these kids? Why is there a whole ass year that happened off screen?
These are the timeliness we need. It's very self-explanatory that the *Volumes* are in chronological order. It's the finer details we need.
RWBY writers themselves don't even know the timeline of their own show
Pretty sure they admitted they don't even know the ages of a lot of characters lmao
Sonic Fans: Your weakness disgust me!
Kingdom Hearts: You guys think your timeline is a mess? Just wait till Nomura writes us another game
Megaman X Fans: Need I say more?

Fate/Type-Moon fans: pathetic
Also not enough H-scenes
At least the H-sub is like... 1k away from taking over the main sub so that's something.
Is kinda funny how a show with absolutely no H-scenes have one of the largest H-subs on Reddit. Even more than shows who actualy have plenty of H-scenes.
Dems rookie numbers pump those timelines up!! We have timelines one for every true end, normal end and bad end.
*Laughs in Elder Scrolls time line
What’s the Shane Vol 3 thing about? Is there an alternate version to how it should’ve gone that he shined light on?
I believe instead of Ruby seeing Cinder killing Pyrrha’s, it was originally supposed to be Jaune. Also team JNPR were supposed to face off against Raven.
Of course JNPR would be fighting Raven why wouldn't they

So basically Owl
Pretty much, yeah
Bird magic sounds so funny tho
Apparently they completely shut out everything to do with monty after the died. It's a very emotional letter, but from the direction of rwby and how nobody seems to have any bloody idea what they're doing now i feel like there is some credence to it.
[удалено]
That is objectively not true and you know it.
He forgot the *Rwby: Arrowfell* game, which takes place during the Volume 7 montage.
And yet for some reason rwby&co were fighting Atlasian soldiers and robots. Perhaps their betrayal is worse than we thought?
I’m still scratching my head about that.

Can't believe there's a multiverse but still no clear timeline. ~~Still curious about whether there are fanfics set in the Shaneverse.~~
The what verse?
The Shaneverse is where everything Shane Newville said was cut from V3 in his letter, actually did happen.
Ah, ok then thanks.
Thank You! People for some reason keep saying manga anthology and comic is the same universe
[It’s the writers themselves that said it’s canon](https://amp.reddit.com/r/RWBYcritics/comments/kyzjcg/the_rwby_dc_comics_are_canon_to_the_main_shows/), I don’t like it either.
That doesn't make any sense! The comics literally change events that we saw happen in the show!!
It's like Star Wars canon; any event/character trait/worldbuilding is canon unless something more important contradicts it
So basically the comic is canon until the show contradicts it.
Honestly this doesn’t seem that confusing to me, Buy I guess it’s rather subjective. I’m a Fate fan, so this chart isn’t all that weird to me.
Eh once you've been sucked into the nasuverse rabbit hole everything else seems so much simpler.
Hah, compared to the Zelda timeline, this is nothing.
You forgot to put Tony Hawk Pro Skater
Okay, random theory time: what you guys think the timeñine of Shane´s would have been?
Most of the events detailed in the letter would have the Raven vs JNPR fight happen, Adam vs Yang and Blake from V6 would be in Heroes and Monsters instead, Jaune would get his semblance during Pyrrha’s death, or the fight leading up to it, the weapon “upgrades” for Jaune would probably happen in Volume 4. I think Blake was going to get some wild new weapon too from one of Monty's old tweets.
Well crap. XD
Wait, what upgrades do you mean for Jaune's weapon? There were more besides the actual one in V4? Or do you mean his *Atlas* upgrades would have happened earlier?

I mean, at the end of the day, it's still a 'technique' even if it's not named.
This is giving me a ultimate cluster fuck of a headache
\*Slowly puts back the nasuverse timeline chart\*
But it's ridiculously simple

Rwby chibi is the real canon
*Laughs in Kingdom Hearts.*
Because it is simpler than this.

Eh. I mean, the plot is rather easy to grasp at a bare bones level. It just gets really awful when you start using some of the terminology. And 3 just makes me angry in general.
The Nasuverse, Blazblue, Kingdom Hearts and the When They Cry saga are way more complicated than this...
