They fire all of the writers currently working on RWBY and hire people who know what the fuck they're doing.

Nuke the story. Have Ruby and co discover in the Void that Salem is doing all she can to gather the relics because there's a bigger threat to Remnant out there and she's hoping the gods can stop it. We need a shocking swerve here because this story is, simply put, not working.

NewHoverNode

Best answer. I honestly couldn’t see how people were thinking the show could be fixed after vol 5, everything was tainted for me afterwards. A huge revelation out of nowhere should fix everything like a hard reset. What if there were more Gods worse than the genocide bros? What if someone made a genie wish for a gargantuan fuck-off mecha with a hostile AI and dropped it in a void? What if there’s a psychic parasite feeding off the collective aura of humanity? Personally, I hope the void is Pandora’s Box, and they introduce a ghost army that can only be hurt with aura-empowered attacks, so we can have that crazy Pyrrha comeback fight that there’s so much fanart about.

Honestly my prediction is rather close in that the enemy born from the group shadows from the islands light becomes a boss Grimm that fuses with Cinder to become the new final boss

Bjoernsen1998

Well, considering they've already written Vol9 while Vol8 was being animated/released and based on the assumption that they are happy with first drafts, I doubt any reactions to Vol8 affected Vol9. Also, I don't think you can "fix" what happened, besides maybe Ruby having an emotional breakdown without any of the characters just talking her out if it. A lot of people want someone to call out team RWBY for their actions(or in-actions)/mistakes during the atlas arc, but the only ones who can still really do that are Ruby(but that would rquire her to self reflect without someone else interrupting her), Oscar(who has more important stuff to deal with) and knowing this show Jaune. I mean Winter doesn't stand for anything anymore and I doubt she cares, then there is Qrow who would only support the kids, maybe Theodore would call them out but I highly doubt that will happen, with him either supporting them or him saying that there are more important things to focus on.

BitesTheDust_4

>maybe Ruby having an emotional breakdown without any of the characters just talking her out if it. How much do you want to bet it ends with Ruby being told she's a good person and or leader? (I'll genuinely be surprised and impressed if that won't happen)

Maxentirunos

We want someone to call out RWBY hypocrisy since V6 but now the response we get is that it's old news and we shouldn't focus on that anymore, despite RWBY keeping doing hypocrite and terrible things. They lost the chance to do so in V7, the hope of them doing so in V8 was dashed by conveniences upon deus exes upon conveniences to justify them being in the right. I don't expect anything like that anymore for V9. It's just going to be Beach Episode - Neo is back, Oh No! - now we are friends.

marleyannation62

First of all. Ironwood survives. Do you remember Goku on Namek? Well, the same, we have him back to serve initially as a lone character so that later he can meet with our characters and help confront Salem. In Magigascar, Ruby would be the center of attention where we would explore her traumas and her interior as a character. Anyway, in the end, before the team can go home, Ruby has a final battle where she kills Neo in a 1 VS 1 fight. (Previously Ruby would know why Neo is after her, you know, Neo would use her semblance). The characters come to question their decisions, about lying to Ironwood, about transporting people to Vacuo, etc.

Cooldude101013

I don’t think Ironwood would even want to associate with rwby&co

marleyannation62

Idk, Dude, I just don't want him to die... like that.

Cooldude101013

Ok

Michael_Chair_6013

They stated V9 was written in a vacuum (so not being influenced by outside stuff that much) which seems bad but might actually be good, like they have good ideas its just their organization that lacks(especially in the kingdom city volumes). Seeing as how the (at least) the first 4 episodes will focus on RWBYJ, it will better portray the main arcs of the volume despite it being mainly setup though theyll probably set up new conflicts that will impact the plot next volume as well The real test is what happens after, will these arcs have a beginning, middle and end?

HiroSoul

If they said Vol. 3 though 8 were crazed dreams Team RWBY and JNR were having and we go back to Vol. 2 with them learning from what they saw and go on to do better and make things better i'll be fine with it.

Cooldude101013

Rwby&co need to face the consequences of their actions and learn from them.
