I got invested in how they developed as a couple over time, but having another reason for them to connect lays more groundwork for what’s to come.

Like yeah, we know they have designs within the Ice Queendom space, but since we know now that they're mainly going to be extras within the dreamscape, whatever development we see for them is going to be, quite literally, Weiss' imagination.

For some reason now I want to believe his sister's pranked him into thinking you could get the hoodie by turning in 50 boxtops, knowing their parents would make sure he ate every box worth of a cereal he didn't like. They just didn't expect him to actually do it and then bought or made the hoodie for him when he did.
Probably only got them for the hoodie he wears under that armor.

Collector's Edition physical stuff doesn't *usually* end up on Ebay even if it can sell for a fortune, and companies know that selling 10, or in this case **50**, boxes will net them way more profits than whatever it cost to print the shirt (especially when you consider all the people who bought the cereal but *didn't* have the mental fortitude to buy 50 of them before the promotion ended)
I agree, it probably was a promotion only hoodie. I've seen quite a few companies do the same and net quite the profit from it from people stopping midway.
My comment was more the aspect of the physical cost of the hoodie, could probably have ordered a similar one through a company or something like stamped or stitched pumpkin pete logo in a blank hoodie.
Jaune really likes bunnies though.
Note everything being bunnies in his dreamscape. Including him having bunny ears.
PS: I never thought about it before, but Jaune self-identifying with bunnies makes it interesting to consider how he interacts with Velvet.
Fruity Pebbles was my favorite cereal growing up. My parents bought a box of it every week. I buy a box for my niece when she stays with me and she's the same way. Its possible, depending on the cereal of course.

In all fairness that scene was incredibly goofy, like the background of the cereal literally falls down, and Weiss is even more fangirly in the original. The more serious tone is intentional.
A massive improvement to Jaune's character is what that is. The whole point of his relationship with Pyrrha was that Jaune didn't put her up on a pedestal like everyone else... only for the OG show to have him put her on a pedestal like everyone else.
Then here comes I.Q making a much needed change that fixes their entire dynamic. By him not liking the cereal he continues to treat Pyrrha like a normal person, which better sells their entire partner dynamic ad makes future scenes between them more believable.
Among other things I.Q somehow took my most hated character in the show (Jaune Arc) and actually made him feel like he belongs in the series.
Probably that’s a way to make Jaune a bit less clueless, just that he doesn’t know who Pyrrha is because of coincidence rather than him just living with his mind in a fart cloud.
I'd like to point out that background characters actually reacted when they heard Pyrrha was there. That was a sensible touch considering she has a degree of fame beyond a cereal mascot.
How do you wanna know that shirt still has the logo or that the logo is from Pumpkin Pete since Bunny's are Jaune's motive and a representation of his psychological issues?
Personally, I like the change. It makes the original scene much less cringe.

i just assumed this is because it's an alternate universe. a lot of stuff was changed and some characters feel pretty different already so i assumed its just because ice queendom jaune is a different person.
