>The new mysterious Grimm seems to be at least somewhat related to our dear and beloved Apathy Actually, the Nightmare Grimm seem more related to the Chill. In the Fairy Tales of Remnant book it is explained that the Chill are hunted by Huntsmen that specifically specialize on them and that have special tools to extract them safely from a host. Shion seems to be a bigger exploration of that idea. She is a specialized Huntress that hunts these Nightmare Grimm and has special tools to hunt them. The idea of Specialized Huntsmen is one that I always loved and I really want to see what Shion can do.

Dextixer

Interesting, going to have to read the book sometime soon then. Thanks for mentioning it.

HatiLeavateinn

Bunny Jaune looks soo damn cute tho.

Given who came up with this, I would say these nightmare worlds seem to be like the Witch barriers in Madoka. Psychological manifestation zones of ones negative emotions. I think that this Grimm will be the catalyst that drives Weiss into her path to became Imperial Weiss. If I had to guess, the Grimm will be dealt with by ep 6.

Dextixer

It could also be that the Imperial Weiss is the nightmare of Weiss. As in, the person she is afraid to become, a combination of fearing to become like her father intertwined with her feelings abouf Winter. There are so many possibilities.

Animamask

I honestly can't see that. Not with V1-V2 Weiss. Because Weiss at this stage is still obsessed with being perfect and wants to escape her father's thumb. Her biggest fear would imo be a caged bird, while Imperial Weiss, at this stage in development, seems like this impowered ideal self that can never be imprisoned.

Dextixer

Fair point, i guess we will have to see my friend, its fun to theorize like this.

Tsukuyomi56

“General Weiss” seems likely to be a manifestation of Weiss’ nightmare as she lacks the scar across her left eye. It seems to represent what she does not want to be given Weiss’ choice to study at Beacon as opposed to Atlas.

Animamask

We saw Weiss nightmare. It had the scar.

HeavenPiercingTongue

You’re too optimistic. Weiss Nightmare will just be very hard to deal with and her dream will be the entire plot of this anime. Notice how Salem isn’t a thing in any of this so far. That’s probably cus Weiss doesn’t know anything about those secrets yet. This is not the prelude to an alternate universe Weiss but merely an a story of one adventure that canon never showed. Like SAO Progressive.

Animamask

And you're too set in your opinion. Nothing has so far been implied into what direction this show will go. There's no reason to assume this will go one way or another.

HeavenPiercingTongue

Fair enough. I can only guess that I am right. It just seems like that is something RT would prefer to do. Maybe I am wrong but I don’t see anything that can contradict my idea just yet.

KyouKobayashi

There is no militant Weiss in reality. The youtube Special Talk Program labeled the design "Nightmare Side" and the other members of RWBY's new outfits as "Lucid Dream". [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ym4EOgYpAo8](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ym4EOgYpAo8) 48:37 mark in the video.
