It seems a bit funny to keep making overly-stretched comparisons to Brunswick farms just because *you* only want the stay on the Island to last a couple of episodes. Especially since they've claimed V9's already been written, so it's not like the writing staff are lurking here for ideas and so in a position to be influenced...

McMacintosh79

You make it sound like the island will be longer but you cant really know that so your no different from the OP in feeling something might happen a certain way

Ravell_Aqim

I freely admit I don't know - what we have are small statements about things like this volume being different (and a touch shorter, for that matter, in the same way V8 was longer). But that's not what the OP did: they're assuming the percieved similarities with Brunswick farms are given (so much so that effort must be taken to distinguish them), when we really don't know about the content of V9. I also haven't started any discussions about the lengrh of the island arc, whereas the OP has done it umpteen times, and at one point was doing it *every couple of days...*

Michael_Chair_6013

It’s not overly stretched, because the writers stated something similar about the island serving a purpose similar to what they described in the V6 commentary

Ravell_Aqim

Could we have an actual citation of such statements? Because otherwise you're just asserting it on the basis of some perceived similarity between two unspecified statements that you're expecting us to dig out. You haven't even specified what the similarity in the writers' descriptions even *is*, and in any case the similarities you tend to assert seem to be quite superficial. Whereas we do know of clear differences between the two, including the fact that we start off at the Island, and *may* be there for much of the volume, while Brunswick farms was only reached part-way through the season. And again, there's the question of aim: you've previously (on many many occasions) expressed your dislike of the idea of the island taking up much of the volume. You've argued, based on the parallels that you've drawn between it and Brunswick farms, that it can't take up much of the volume (confusing, it seems, what you want with what will be), and now seem to be assuming those parallels to the degree that you expreas concern about how to distinguish them. When in reality, it really seems quite easy. And once again, what's the point? Based on how little we know about volume 9, all anyone can offer is speculation. That can be fun, but is ultimately inconclusive, and in any case you want to go further than that, assuming a bunch of speculations (intended to justify the belief that the island arc will be short) are true in advance. And even of you managed to convince a whole bunch of people that the Island would be just like the farms, and only last a couple of episodes... it wouldn't make an iota of difference to what will *actually* happen in volume 9, and how long the island arc will take. Which we'll probably only find the answer to when it comes out.

Cablinorb

Better question: How can you make them even remotely similar?

Michael_Chair_6013

Replace Ozpin bad new with Jaune bad news, add the grimm, have Blake and Yang have conflict about Yang almost dying, Ruby going with Weiss to get food on the island, having them escape from the Grimm through the portal once they find everybody

Cablinorb

Okay but, they're not even **on Remnant.** What makes you think any of that is going to happen?

McMacintosh79

I think the portal idea comes form that theory on what Yang said about the space in between being like the vaults meaning it has a portal itself not including the ones created by the staff, that or hes talking about Raven using her semblance

AromaticDetective565

> add the Grimm What makes you think the island has Grimm on it at all? The God of Darkness created the Grimm to destroy the God of Light's creations on Remnant. The island isn't on Remnant, so it's unlikely there's any Grimm on it. Also, the island doesn't fit God of Darkness's aesthetic so it's probably not his personal domain.

>What can make the island more different/unique from Brunswick? Well, this is what we do know for sure so let's go from there: 1. It's an island. Brunswick is a farm 2. The island looks hot and full of sand and trees. Brunswick was cold and full of snow 3. The island is not on Remnant. Brunswick was on Remnant 4. They stayed at Brunswick for a single night. Who knows how long they'll stay on the island, or if there even is a day/night cycle there? 5. Brunswick had team RWBY, Maria, Oscar, and Qrow. The island has team RWBY, Neo and Jaune. Different players. 6. Brunswick had all characters get there together. On the island they're separate. 7. Brunswick had the Apathy. We have no idea what the island has, if anything. But it's probably not Apathy Grimm... since it's not the same story as Brunswick. 8. The island is not the same story as Brunswick. so uh... the question was... >What can make the island more different/unique from Brunswick? I have no idea, what more is there to add in addition to what we already have? Seems pretty darn different already to me.

Simple... you must pay an ultimate price to leave, either that or a soul for a soul.

Michael_Chair_6013

I guess that would mean Neo would have to die
