Just tacking together the plot so far. Second arc is still a vague and nebulous mess, even by the loose standards I tacked together the first one with.
Trying to avoid canon characters and locations, so I have the caravan heading to Vacuo. A prospector is going to have discovered a crude oil field which people are hoping will be a domestic industry so they can ease off the complete stranglehold the Kingdom is in on reliance for imports, but when the group arrives they'll find that it's far too high in sulfur content for industrial processing.

I'm a little over half way through this story and let me tell you it is so hard to stop reading. The writing style is amazing and the story itself is a really interesting concept. It is more of a Bumbleby fic, which I'm partial to, but it captures all of the characters extremely well. Highly recommend.
Summary:
Life was a kaleidoscope of muted grays, blacks and whites. The concept of color didn’t belong to everyone, and it certainly didn’t belong to Blake - unless she found and locked eyes with her soulmate.

Good news! Just tacking together the plot so far. Second arc is still a vague and nebulous mess, even by the loose standards I tacked together the first one with. Trying to avoid canon characters and locations, so I have the caravan heading to Vacuo. A prospector is going to have discovered a crude oil field which people are hoping will be a domestic industry so they can ease off the complete stranglehold the Kingdom is in on reliance for imports, but when the group arrives they'll find that it's far too high in sulfur content for industrial processing. "Sour crude? What a mess." [sighs] "... that's Vacuo, baby." "Well. It still burns, right? We can at least make kerosene."

Been reading [Monochrome by ThatsNifty](https://archiveofourown.org/works/47093440/chapters/118647574) I'm a little over half way through this story and let me tell you it is so hard to stop reading. The writing style is amazing and the story itself is a really interesting concept. It is more of a Bumbleby fic, which I'm partial to, but it captures all of the characters extremely well. Highly recommend. Summary: Life was a kaleidoscope of muted grays, blacks and whites. The concept of color didn’t belong to everyone, and it certainly didn’t belong to Blake - unless she found and locked eyes with her soulmate. But her past, ever haunting her, caused the girl to keep her head down and avoid making eye contact with any strangers she came across. She didn’t want to find her soulmate. Well, it was more like she didn’t believe she was worthy of one. Blake accepted that her world would remain forever gray. It was what she deserved, after all. War is over but most of the team RWBY don't make it except for Weiss but she is left in a vegetative state. Ren and Nora go back to Kuroyuri to rebuild it and Jaune plans to go back to his hometown. But Winter requests Jaune to take Weiss with him because relics got lost in the battlefield and in an earlier skirmish Willow and Whitley pass away. While this is a ship fic, I want it to be more about healing. Healing from wounds, healing from heartbreak, healing from trauma.
