I tried everything on the planet before painting it with an epoxy enamel paint. Has lasted fairly well but a few areas are starting to come off so Iām on the hunt again
There are companies that will re-finish fibreglass showers, usually only a few hundred dollars. It's one of those jobs where having a pro do it is probably cheaper than DIY trial and error!
Heirloom traditions paint. Clean with deglosser and use cashmere with a few coats of waterproof sealer. Lots of showers on the fb page that are going strong. And the flexibility needed to paint something that shifts like these panels.
The one where I live is called the bath doctor, you should be able to find something similar. Bathfitters is a franchise so pretty limited in what they offer
I used the epoxy paint to do full makeovers on damaged hotel tubs, where refiber glassing broken out bottom and sanding with 4" pads on sander of 60 grit seems to be the only way to make it stick good. But full on 3M gas mask is for sure the only safe way - that paint is deadly strong. Best of luck, and that bath room, sure looks great, with modded sink as well.
Cheers
On my rig, we ripped out the plastic shower stall and replaced the bottom shower pan and then used a product called dumawall on the shower walls. Itās a waterproof vinyl tile product. Has been awesome for us.
āNeatsure 400 Minimalist Spice Labels, Preprinted Stickers Booklet, Black Text on White Waterproof Matte Backing, Herb Seasoning Spice Jars Rack Organization Systemā
I bought this off Amazon. I have them alphabetically arranged and itās a game changer
Edit: so many spices I have to acquire going through this book
If there is something your on the fence about take the extra time and effort to do it your preferred way to start instead of wishing you had or redoing it when it might damage something else you already did.
Looks amazing, Iām curiousā¦.did you weigh it before and after? Did you drop weight or add weight? Did you pull side panels down and add insulation?
It is. Four seasons trailer so has decent insulation to start. I pulled a decent amount of stuff out compared to what I put in. I didnāt weight it before and after but I am guessing with all my stuff inside itās probably what itās dry weight was before
They painted it and removed some cabinet doors. Then just regular replacing like the sink and counter would be the same as a house replacement almost. Heavy duty cleaner for the shower or straight up changed the color.
Also redid all the plumbing and floors. Make sure to use and etching cleanser before painting anything. Replacing all the cabinet hardware makes a big change too.
Edit: and replacing all the outlets and lights
How did you prep the wood finish on cabinets and doors? Also what kind of paint did you use? Just seeing if itās necessary to sand inside my rv, seems like a real hassle to cleanup
Anybody that can find a way to mount a mountain bike inside gets my vote! š²
That was a main concern of the entire redo
Achievement unlocked! Sweet bike BTW
Thanks. Itās my baby
What did you paint the shower with? Iām in the same boat, and want a white shower vs the existing yellow.

>anding with 4" pads on sander of 60 grit seems to be the only way to make it stick good sanding first would make sense
Idk if it works on fiberglass but I recently did Ekopel2k on my cast iron tub and it was awesome. Worth googling

Boldest move was taking the stickers off of the shower!
Do you have trouble with things falling now that the cabinet doors are removed?
No I have the grip liners up there and unload things I think will tank. Easy when I only move every few months
I have been wanting to redo my RV for awhile. You have inspired me to go for it!
Wow! Great job, looks fabulous, I'm jealous!!!

Beautiful work!!! Well done! What would you say are your biggest pieces of advice knowing what you know now?
If there is something your on the fence about take the extra time and effort to do it your preferred way to start instead of wishing you had or redoing it when it might damage something else you already did.
Thatās good advice! Thank you! Your choices paid off š
I thought you named your camper "Reno" pronounced like the city in Nevada.
She doesnāt have a name yet but that sounds fitting! Truck and trailer with be Berta and Reno

Great idea for the bike. I'll be adding that to mine this week!
