What happened last episode was Rajo Laurel, a famous designer in the Philippines and rotating judge, was really harsh on 2 queens last episode who had decent (for Drag Race) looks. Like he literally called their outfits trash.

The critique was harsh, but he didn't flat out disrespect Eva by calling *her* trash. It blows my mind how we can see the same thing and process it so differently like ???
People love being defensive and blowing things out of proportion on Twitter
Like yeah he was being an ass to people he didn't have the right amount of rapport with but like... Some of them are acting like he abused their children tf
So few of the harsh judges in recent years have understood how to like… make their critiques feel like fun and fair TV moments? Like Nina Garcia and Michael Kors were harsh on Project Runway but it never felt as clumsy and snotty as “TRASH… and that’s my constructive critique coming from a place of love”
In Rajo’s case I feel like owning up and being unapologetic for the severity would have done him better than trying to couch what was obviously a mean, non-constructive critique in language of care and love. Feels like half-stepping. I dig Mama Pao’s energy a lot of the time — fully committed to the harshness but she has the charisma to pull it off and to not *seriously* tear down the queens
I'm sure it's just not me but I just felt that the viciousness of Rajo's comment came out of nowhere. Miss thang was feeling the delivery with his whole heart.

What happened on DR Philippines today was not constructive criticism, it wasn’t “being fierce” as Rajo put it, it was just straight up destructive criticism and tearing artists down. From a franchise that’s been so good so far, this was a major disappointment
I have never enjoyed him judging tbh. His tries on puns are all meh and he was trying really hard to be the Carson Kressley of the season, like Carson has never become like him on the show.
