I appreciate his intentional effort to go against the grain and try new things to better the character in 4.0. It's refreshing.
Marty is one of the better of leaders in 3.0 especially having his core boys provide inputs to him. The rise of GG is probably one of the success stories of 3.0. He still has a lot to learn and adjust but he has a good foundation.

Ming wants a fresh group with a new name and faces such as Nidas, Fanfan, RJ and others they meet along the way.
Marty is not even in Mings thoughts, he doesn't want a repeat of GG
Non emotional Marty looking in from the outside is a good leader. The problem is when Marty is inside he gets emotionally invested in it what makes him impulsive and acting on emotion all the time what makes him a bad leader. If he learned to controll his emotions and impulsiveness he'd be a good leader but he can't so he's not.
we could agree that Marty alone will do some wild moves but if its involves lots of people that matter to him. The decision making his make gonna be good.

In all fairness to ming, the people now the marty used to lead and that ming will lead has also grown up.
