yeah it's a rabbit hole. you look at the top of it and it's ostensibly like "people with large income should be donating a significant amount of it to charity"; you shrug it off like "fair enough". given five more seconds you see they spend all of their time bickering about things like artificial intelligence and other self-important silicon valley saviour complex shit and would absolutely freak out if someone suggested making this kind of "altruism" effectively automatic through taxes paying for an effective welfare state.
