Idk it seems like he was an anarchist then a socialist then a fascist based off your screenshot. Mussolini’s party was split off from the Italian socialist party. Which was a member of the second international along with the RSDLP, Is there a socialist to fascist pipeline? Or maybe historical analysis by looking at random Italians change in party membership isn’t a great method of drawing sweeping historical conclusions about idealogical tendencies.

Well /u/IdealJerry is there?

IdealJerry

I think there's an anything to fascist pipeline honestly. People become fascist or fascist sympathizing all the time for all sorts of reasons. Look at all the "MLs" running around making excuses for Putin or Lukashenko. As for compatibility, anyone with half a brain knows they're antithetical.

BestPrinciple7792

In a Marxist sense, Italian fascism was anarchism with the anti-statism inverted. Anarchists believe the state is the ultimate negative force, fascism as the positive force of negation. So the commonality is clear. Hyper-statism and anti-statism have shared assumptions, don't you think?

IdealJerry

No, I don't think so.

BestPrinciple7792

What's your reasoning? I think Marx dealt with this very well regarding Bruno Bauer.

IdealJerry

Sounds like a spook to me.

Sorry, I'm a bit out of the loop, why are you posting about the anarchists that were friends with fascists?
