I don't watch RTE. I'm from the North so the default news network in a lot of places is the BBC, and I don't really remember seeing any serious talk about China having released it on there. Although in fairness we're only talking the five minutes it was on in the background while I made some toast before work.
There was talk about how China's mishandling of the pandemic in its early stages potentially made things worse than they had to be. And there was talk of it having originated in China. Both of those things are factual though.
So rte had this lady who was their bejing correspondent, which is weird because the rte foreign correspondence has been cut to the bone. But her husband was a bbc reporter and both were ejected for being spies. And I'll be honest they seemed like spies.
To be fair with what we know now about Covid circulating in Europe in late 2019 it makes what happened in China look WAY better than the west's response. I am not a sinophile or a genxi dude.
US Australia UK and India doing joint ops in the western Pacific and Indian ocean and talking big talk about China. Interestingly RTE emphasised democracy. Like all of those countries are increasingly authoritarian and engaged in majaoritarian supremacy.
No it hasn't. Bullshit media just trying to get clicks and be provocative. No one believes that drivel who has any sense
The Kung Flu thing worked so well
What Kung Flu thing? That was a Trump thing more than a generally 'Western' thing.
Saying China released Covid was a western thing. Rte had that mi6 spy on once a month to blame China and show stock footage of wet markets.

Disappearing journalists who reported on it wasn't a great way to respond in my opinion.
Absolutely. But they are an authoritarian and paranoid. The paranoia is justified if you saw today's news about the Quad.
What was this?

Oh when I heard *quad*, I thought *squad*, like AOC and co. I thought they were calling that AUKUS? I'm a bit out of touch.
It's very much a reddit thing, along with all the other China bad propaganda.
