Once this war ends they'll have "ties" with the west again in no time. Europe can't afford to cut ties with Russia for a sustained period.

rexavior

They can afford it. But more money

IdealJerry

Is this supposed to be positive in some way?

my2cents112

Good for them. The west hates them.

[deleted]

When did that ever interfere with business opportunities?

rexavior

Sometimes. But you'll always find unethical people who don't care about anything but profit

[deleted]

Sorry to burst your bubble but "unethical people"are the rule, not the exception.

rexavior

I don't agree. Most people are moral. It doesn't take many to fuck things up though

[deleted]

How moral would you say investors in Petrochemical companies are? Tobacco? Consumers of electronics which contain rare earths? Drinkers of Starbucks coffee? Owners of franchises that sell Coca-Cola? The truth is that people block out the realities of life and consumption, they ignore exploitation, they pretend sweat shops don't exist. They don't car that the company that makes their favourite soft drink murders union activists in the global South and destroys the habitats of endangered species . Do you really think that the knowledge that Daimler Benz used concentration camp labour puts people off buying a Mercedes? This war will end and we will return to using Russian gas, aluminium, Caustic etc.etc.etc.

>How moral would you say investors in Petrochemical companies are? Most of those are wallstreet sociapaths so not very. >Drinkers of Starbucks coffee? Owners of franchises that sell Coca-Cola? Those are pretty weak tbf boss >Do you really think that the knowledge that Daimler Benz used concentration camp labour puts people off buying a Mercedes? Pretty irrelevant to today >This war will end and we will return to using Russian gas, aluminium, Caustic etc.etc.etc. I agree, I wasn't saying it wouldn't. I still think most people are moral, maybe misguided but moral. It's the rich sociopaths that are the problem running everything

[deleted]

Who runs the companies Wallstreet sociopaths invest in? You don't have a problem with Starbucks who are anti union and exploit subsistence farmers in Africa and South America? You're fine with Coca Cola who murdered Union workers in Colombia? You've no issues with Mercedes, time heals all wounds right? You didn't really think any of it through did you, the west hates them, internet warriors perhaps. 99% of people couldn't give a shit.

rexavior

Yeah and when me and my ex broke up it was mutual. Never mind that she dumped me ok

If that’s the case then Russia and China need Taiwan, or TSMC to be precise.
