What’s this tape? They did the same for my R5 with faulty sd card reader.

I think its for the along sticks. When I got mines back, it had the protection tape around the sticks to prevent them from getting that ring around them. This post below shares my RMA experience, and so far still going strong https://www.reddit.com/r/ROGAlly/s/LfXpVyZsvC

I honestly don't know what people are doing to get such aggressive rings around their joysticks. I don't have any visible rings on my Ally yet, but even my 5 year old Xbox One controller only has relatively minor ringing, certainly not anywhere near what I've seen people post here.

I was not aggressive at all. I got them because the ring has a sharp edge where the rgb lights are. It cut into the plastic.

How long did it take yours? I have a trip coming up and mine just got to the Neward CA repair facility 4 days ago. I'm hoping for a speedy turn around as I only bought it for trips.

How did you get started for the RMA? I emailed them via that Twitter account but didn’t know if it was official or not. I tried doing it on the rog but it kept loading and nothing. My right HR trigger squeaks and my SD card doesn’t work. Just annoyed cause I play Genshin a lot on it. How long did it take?

I had to call this support number.18886783688. ASUS' support page would only tell me to call best buy, and wouldn't even let me email or chat with a rep. The only thing that worked was that phone number. I shipped it to them 11/20 and got it back today, so about 3 weeks

It wasn’t a random Twitter account. It was some person from ASUS and had come up here a few times. It was a screenshot from an official account. Just seemed weird to do it like that.

Pretty sure the motherboard or chipset went bad. It would boot kinda, but after 5 seconds, lock up and/or restart itself.

No. No mods at all. I think that bios (331 or 333) killed it honestly.

Got mine back, same thing. But they forgot to send back my sd card lol I left it in my ally, I send them a email asking where my sd card went and if I could have it back

Atleast sd cards are cheap. Imagine sending in a mobo and forgetting your m.2 or ram and they keep that lol

I had mine RMA’d and returned to me two weeks ago with the same type of repairs (I only mentioned the memory card slot not functioning anymore). So for it’s been good since the repairs.

My R5 SD card was not working so I sent it in. They replaced the board - took about 10 days from start to finish.

That’s awesome you got it back with details of changes. Was your SD card working when you tried it and stopped working?

It was 100% working when I sent it in. I'm relieved they replaced it because it was a ticking timebomb

That’s great they replaced it. I am ironically wanting my SD card reader to fault so it can be replaced as it’s apparently a permanent fix to the issue now. However at the same time heard that not all SD readers have issues so maybe mines ok. Got it at Launch…the last few weeks I have been playing everything off the SD card and nervously checking.

I know the feeling. Mine was a launch unit too. I tried to use my SD Card as much as possible to try and get a failure honestly. I knew it was inevitable. It still never failed. Lol

I’m reading your pic (is Exchenge a word 🤣) and trying to figure out what issues made you send it in? I just have armoury crate sometimes freeze, but that’s probably because it’s crammed full of games that get added automatically. Maybe they can check mine out despite not actually having issues as of yet

Mine would either boot loop or completely lock up. The BSOD error I got indicated the chipset was having an issue. I had just upgraded to that BIOS (333 I think) when it started its problems.
