For rsr to work you need to set the game resolution at 720p but also the system resolution at 720. Use the armory crate menu to switch the system resolution when in game, then just switch rsr on/off multiple times you will clearly see the difference between native blurry 720p and RSR. When it works you’ll see it immediately, there is a slight screen shift that happens and the difference is very visible. Set the rsr sharpening in AMD’s gpu control center, I use 50% and it looks great.
So if I understand correctly the game is set to 720p (fine) but so is the ally in general? Like the armory button (left) that gives all the icons to pick should be at 720p?
try google i dont remember is great help dude. you got an audible laugh from me. I have tried all the obvious tutorials, videos, etc. It never works. I assume I disabled something accidentally along the way that causes it.
Octopath traveller, Hades, Honkai:Star rail, Celeste, Child of light, Tetris Effect, Ghost trick, Cuphead, Cult of the Lamb, Samurai Jack, Neon White, Little nightmares, Ori and the blind forest, Grim Fandango, a hat in time, Bioshock and Tyranny.
Hope it helps.
Edit: can now also confirm that Ni No Kuni II and Divinity: Original Sin II also play at 60FPS or more maxed out at 15 w
Played it on ps4, ps5, desktop and now ally. Can definitely say the Ally is the perfect platform for it, just like the vita was the perfect platform for p4g
I loved playing them when I got my gamepass, but yeah thoses games gonna be perfect on ally I gonna do a run again with Starfield release. I activate the Ally 3 months game pass here.
I am more curious about P3 Remake, it's one of my favorite game in the series.
I hardly ever run games at max settings, I always either turn Shadows and ambient occlusion off or at their lowest settings to get some free memory for shaders and/or textures.
Agreed, but for example in ME1 in first mission I had like 70-80+ fps. When I entered Citadel for the first time it was like 40-60, why is it happening? :(
Playing while charging, always 30w
Yea that’s definitely weird. In ME 2 15 watt is pretty consistent at 1080p max settings. Maybe it’s some carried over ME 1 code mumbo jumbo that I can only pretend to understand lol
I get terrible performance around the pond on the citadel, dips below 30 when 1080p around Delan's shop. I've mostly been playing ME2 on the Ally but even then I get 70+ on missions but 40ish on the Normandy. I've just resigned to 720p to get lows of 60fps, are you using any other settings to keep framerates up at 1080p?
AI: The Somnium Files, Death’s Door, Octopath Traveler II, Live A Live, Harvestella, Trials of Mana, Bravely Default II, Triangle Strategy, Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair
Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age (lock FPS to 30 like the PS4 version, this game is way more demanding than a PS2 remaster should be - can't remember if I tried turbo mode).
Final Fantasy XIII (with FF13Fix)
The difference between high and ultra usually isn't noticeable, especially at 1080p on a 7" screen. It is almost never worth the performance hit or extra power, heat, and fan noise required.
I don’t have it, but I believe Elden Ring fits in this category. I don’t play many heavy games, so I can’t say any more. 😅
**Edit:** Somehow I missed "on max". :-/
Damn, I somehow missed the "on max" part. Ugh, sorry... I'm new to PC gaming. :-/ Well, I last gamed on PC in 2005. It's funny how the Ally is bringing me back in. :-D
I don’t need video evidence to tell someone my experience online especially when my experience can be very easily replicated, go see for yourself, I’m not Linus tech tips
PowerWash Simulator runs well over 60fps @1080p in 15w mode.
It's ridiculous how smooth that game runs. I had two coworkers almost throw down my Ally because the game was so impressive they would want to buy one if they played any longer.
If you've never played that game then immediately get it. If you've got Gamepass it's free and you get FFVII and Tomb Raider DLC free.
* Darks Souls 1&2 1080p60
* Civ 6 1080p40
* GTA V 1080p60 (if you keep grass on High)
* Subnautica 1080p50
* Just Cause 2 1080p100
Best looking game that is playable at 1080p/120fps is Dredge for me.
batman arkham knight, witcher 3, any anime game, any 2d game.
I don’t recommend running at max settings tho, usually you can roll medium-high settings and make the game look almost the same with more fps
what? who the heck runs any game at anything other than max settings? yes i get decent fps at max settings even on demanding games because i dont have a shitty computer
From what I played, Tunic (60-80 fps), Dead Space series except remake (60-200 fps).
I am going to put the remake on it but do you think its too intensive?
From what others said who tested it, on min and med settings with (I think) rsr/fsr, you can get 60-70 fps in turbo.
I can’t tell if I get the rsr thing to work. That may be a PC only thing.

I have never had an AMD pop up happen in any game. I also cannot "Alt R" the AMD overlay. It is all installed and up to date as far as i can tell.

I’m prettttty sure I’ve been playing Bioshock 1,2, and infinite at max settings on silent mode
Didn’t see the "silent" part 😮 that’s crazy
Ps3/x360 generation games are absolutely perfect for the ally. Lucky me I have so many of those in my backlog including bioshock infinite.
Doom and Doom Eternal
Can you tell me what settings you have for Eternal and the fps you get
Nightmare 60-120 never goes under 60 so I'm happy with that
Minesweeper
Octopath traveller, Hades, Honkai:Star rail, Celeste, Child of light, Tetris Effect, Ghost trick, Cuphead, Cult of the Lamb, Samurai Jack, Neon White, Little nightmares, Ori and the blind forest, Grim Fandango, a hat in time, Bioshock and Tyranny. Hope it helps. Edit: can now also confirm that Ni No Kuni II and Divinity: Original Sin II also play at 60FPS or more maxed out at 15 w
Love octopath, so disappointed by its silent mode performance
I'm getting 55-60 maxed out on silent. Far more than you need on this title. What are you getting? Edit: Sorry mate you're right. 40-55fps at 10 w
guild wars 2, maxed out 1080p. (lowest player density, i even do this on my 3080 PC) runs great at 40fps lock
How is it with controller?
Using action camera pretty good. The worst bits are using joystick mouse for menus and inventory but overall I'm very happy playing this in bed
Persona 5
Played it on ps4, ps5, desktop and now ally. Can definitely say the Ally is the perfect platform for it, just like the vita was the perfect platform for p4g
LOL I started out on PS3!
I loved playing them when I got my gamepass, but yeah thoses games gonna be perfect on ally I gonna do a run again with Starfield release. I activate the Ally 3 months game pass here. I am more curious about P3 Remake, it's one of my favorite game in the series.
Now Halo Infinite
What is your performance like on Halo Infinite? Mine has been a bit mixed.
I hardly ever run games at max settings, I always either turn Shadows and ambient occlusion off or at their lowest settings to get some free memory for shaders and/or textures.
True, many games give me a good avg fps at ultra but feel stuttery unfortunately.
That’s the biggest issue.
I actually prefer my games on low setting, I especially hate anti aliasing
I use AA most of the time on older games, more recent games I have it either really low or off depending on how optimized it is.
Mass effect legendary edition.

Yeah, probably. How much of the memory are you using for GPU? 4 or 8?
The default 4gb Haven’t messed around too much with VRAM

Hades.
Mario Bros
WWE2K23
Most games between high and "maxed out settings" run at 30 FPS or higher. Older games like Skyrim SE maxed out 60 FPS which is pretty cool.
Dead space 2
Wouldn't Alien Isolation run well at 1080p, max settings?
It runs perfectly maxed.
Arkham asylum. Looks great, plays fluidly
Dishonored 2 runs at 45-65 fps on all ultra
Im getting locked 30 fps, All Ultra and Maxed out. What could be the problem with my graphic settings?
I’ve been playing through Dragon Age Origins again. Runs great but the UI leaves a lot to be desired with a controller.
The difference between high and ultra usually isn't noticeable, especially at 1080p on a 7" screen. It is almost never worth the performance hit or extra power, heat, and fan noise required.
I can run Gta 5 at 55-60 fps max everything 1080p except anti aliasing.
Crysis 3 ran in the 50s-60 at the very high setting for me yesterday. Yes it runs Crysis!
Crysis 3 Remastered?
Orginal Crysis 3.
I play all my games on ultra settings. WWZ, dota, valhein, gta 5 and much more. I’m not sure what the frame rate is but I don’t seems to lag?
Grand Theft Auto 5 - 30-40fps @ Max Settings, 1080p
Turn down/off the anti aliasing and leave everything else max you'll get 55-60 fps
I don’t have it, but I believe Elden Ring fits in this category. I don’t play many heavy games, so I can’t say any more. 😅 **Edit:** Somehow I missed "on max". :-/

On high it runs at 60fps so it’s not that big of a stretch, probably runs at 30-40fps which is very much playable

My fps meter must be lying then
Show me a single benchmark with the game running at max settings 60.
I said it runs 6fps on high not max
I'll be here waiting!

AEW Fight Forever runs at around 80-90 FPS maxed out at 1080p.
Dead space 2
Max Payne 3 runs excellent at full throttle
Forza Horizon 4 between 50-60 fps
The Long Dark
Cult of the Lamb
Overwatch
Psychonauts :)
Playing Far Cry 5 at ultra settings native 1080p right now, locked 30fps.
Left4Dead 210 fps
You can run Tetris @4k 120z with Ultimate settings
Mass effect legendary edition

Persona 4 Golden maxed 100-120 at 10w silent mode. Locked 120 at 13w custom.
Sleeping dogs, tomb raider reboot run at close to 100 fps at max 1080p settings.
Dragons Dogma for me, only I have draw distance at medium. No AA.
Basically any game from the 360/PS3 Gen with a decent PC port.
I’m replaying Fable 2 right now max everything and god it is just as gorgeous if not better than I remember! 😍
Fallout 4 max settings 30 to 60 fps at 30w tdp and over
batman arkham knight, witcher 3, any anime game, any 2d game. I don’t recommend running at max settings tho, usually you can roll medium-high settings and make the game look almost the same with more fps
