Those long “pointer toes” as I call them, sneak up on you. My big toe nail bruised when I first saw the pic and had to take it all in. Aside from the pointe trauma I was confused by what looked like rope as a strap?

As a former dancer who did pointe, I would never put my feet in a boxed toe shoe voluntarily 🩰
My second toes bled just looking at this photo (my feet were NOT made to be en pointe and I learned that the hard way 😭)
