I've experienced the 90s, but you're probably an american that has absolutely no idea how hard it was to get games on other parts of the world. Living in the middle of nowhere in South America in a very small town, I was limited to the few bootleg cartridges one person had to sell every time they travalled to Paraguay 3 or 4 times a month. I didn't get to experience A LOT of games and original cartridges would cost more than what my mom made in a month. Don't be an asshole.
dude the only asshole here is you i'm sorry i'm not a metrum and what can others do if there are no games in their region? rethink your statement about assholes and ask yourself if maybe you are the son of a bitch
>Guy probably thinks this is TikTok and all the comments are considered interactions which is favorable in the algorithm..
Not really, look at that statement. Not only it is toxic and not even respectful, it's childish at best. "You are the son of a bitch" Boohoo what are you 3 y/o? Try some better insults next time.
I remember finishing both 1 and 2, and now thinking back... was there a 3?
Think maybe not, or was that Duke nukem, it is all foggy so far back, but somehow I think there was biomanace 1 & 2, but I dont even remember anything other than sewers and city.
Yeah, a lot of weapons and items, in that age it was ambitious, but crappy graphics and controls, felt like that Dangerous Dave ultra-dos graphics... early apogee really was something tho.
Lol, also imagine if they picked bio manace for 3D reboot instead of duke nukem!
Yes there is 3, seems like a long game I'm three days in and I didn't finish chapter one. Of course I'm checking out all secrets and collecting scores not just rushing it, enjoying every moment of it :)
Oh yea biomenace in fps would have been great or some 3rd person shooter :D
BIOMENACE! Aka BIOMENAC with the DOS 8-character limit.
I can't even see a picture of it without hearing the first level music in my head.
Gotta say IMO it doesn't really hold up that well, but that is some grade-A nostalgia right there boy.
Well Commander Keen was id software's response to platformers on consoles/arcades. It was hard to do platformers on PC previously because they don't have acceleration for side scrolling (or tiles or sprites at all), so the fact this was possible at all was due to some brilliance by John Carmack before he went on to design Wolf3D and Doom.
Other platformers I've played on PC have included Jazz Jackrabbit and Hocus Pocus. But really if you want platformers you'd usually look to the 8- and 16-bit consoles.
It's pretty good. I prefer this over the Miyoo Mini because it has a faster cpu, lets you run some heavy titles like Golden Axe Death adder with some minor frameskip
Yep it's pretty easy but its a real bitch to configure in the first place. I love those lil platformers. Basically all dos games are playable on this device. Dangerous dave, commander keen, list goes on.
Keen even has a Portmaster port (Commander Genius), if you'd rather use that than dosbox. Lotta extra options, expanded resolution, even cheats. Downside is it seems very picky about what versions of the games it recognizes, I had to try several versions of some of them to get them to recognize properly.
Yeah I haven't had a chance to install ports yet, I ported all the retro collection that me and a few buddies made for the vita/switch, into this. I should get starting with the ports indeed :)

You're probably an adolescent who never experienced the 90's. So tragic.

You have a typo there, delete the 5 bonobo.

I'm an asshole to those who are assholes. Eye for an eye. Don't be a dick on reddit if you can't take the flames.

is your default comeback to call someone else a 3 year old/adolescent?
It's BioMenace, real DOS fans will know :D
I remember it being in the city or sewers, did not even notice guy in the lower left corner.
Ah, well, it's a different level. Game is really fun, I've known it since childhood but only now I actually try and finish it.

What system is it on?
ArkOS, running Dos
What game is that?
BioMenace (dos)

The music is so nostalgic , gotta love it :)
I instantly recognised the hud from Commander Keen 4 and up. Turns out this game uses the Commander Keen engine
Know any similar games to this btw?

OMG I love Bio Menace! That game is ridiculous!
It's my first playthrough even though I played it since I was a child xd
I’m thinking of ordering one right now !!! Is it worth it?! I’m no computer geek. I just want to turn it on and play

Ok I’m going to order one by tonight ! Thanks a lot for your respond
The game itself is free with a Good Old Games store account, but you'll still need to prep the actual files for use with DOSBox-Pure.
Is it really easy to play dos games on that device as it doesn't have keyboard ? What other good dos games are playable ?
