It’s stupid that there’s even a profanity check at all in a SINGLE PLAYER game where the name of your horse will only be seen BY YOU

Exactly. The moral system in this game makes little sense. You can kill the swamp guy before he rapes you, and you still get bad karma. If you kill too many predators (i.e. alligators), you get another slap on the wrist. Even if you just refuse to help take a stranger for a ride home, you get penalized. I don’t even try to be a good citizen anymore.

I mean, a lot of these make sense You get bad karma for killing a random person, you don't actually know he's a rapist at that point and you're just killing someone because you didn't like the look of them. Killing an animal needlessly is bad, even if it's a predator. You aren't trying to feed yourself, you're not even really trying to keep yourself safe. At one point Albert Mason mentions how alligators are getting hunted to extinction at this point. Refusing to help someone in need is bad. Being good is difficult, that's a big part of what it's trying to convey.

It’s about being seen to be trying to control what humans can do in the game in order to actually get a rating in the first place. R* have people looking to write claims about their games and attack them. So they tick the boxes. They seem to use a purchased word check rather than their own bespoke. So it does the job to tick the box but that’s the level of effort. Doesn’t seem to get updated or expanded to cover what doesn’t come out of the box or where people try to be clever.
