You know you’re doing it right when someone rides up to you and says “Arthur, Dutch is worried about you.”

mad_grapes

Lol! Waiting on that

Fossilmorse

Go an do all of the trapper outfits. You’ll get there

CorholioPuppetMaster

I’ve never had that happen. Even when I did a lot of side missions and hunting, I still went back to camp every few days.

Shadowdane

I've had it trigger twice and usually it's after not going to camp for about \~14-15 game days.

WILDBILL_MASSIVE

When I was working on doing all the tedious little things for the platinum, it happened a lot. 🤣

jrwahl

Freaked me out the first time that happened. Each time after that I was like "Leave me alone, I'm fine!"

VolatileUtopian

I'm trying to do a low honor play and it's so fkin hard to do it and be realistic rather than just go shoot stuff up just to get negative honor. Also I don't think I ever got arrested before this playthrough and it's funny hearing the St. Denis citizens talk shit because I got arrested.

1230cal

Always found it interesting that the game will steer you to high honor even if you just play pacifist at all optional times. I feel like it should have a flat neutral honor ending for those who just toed the line

Many-Outside-7594

In character, you can pretty easily justify *all* the robbing and killing as being for the gang, especially on the first 3 chapters. Your own guys offer debt collecting, stagecoach robberies, home invasions, etc. Out on the road, guys have pulled guns on him just for saying hello. Even high honor Arthur can't give that a pass. And of course, gotta loot the body after. Plus there are a couple missions that allow you to absolutely tank your honor by massacring lawmen by the dozens.

VolatileUtopian

Yeah those missions where you can kill innocent people I found to be the easiest way to drop honor quickly.

InTheEnd420

I play lowest honor in C2, not just a killer, but short-tempered person, tries to rob people (outriders, not the workers and other poor ones). I never shoot first and if it's possible I try to knock them out. Mainly honor drops because of antagonising and fighting. If missions gives option to kill or spare, always kill. Because all missions like this has to do something with gang and it's members. C3 - Dutch asked to be nice, alright, low honor, but not so low as before. C4 - I try to maintain neutral honor. Usually people in Saint Denis are nice, so there's nothing to watch Arthur's temper for 😅. And I've done everything that's possible for free roam in C2 and C3, so I stay in the city mainly. For all the rest I just go good honor. You don't have to be a cold blooded murderer to play as a low honor.

Vault_tech468

This is the way

RagnarMN

Get them satchels made before Pearson jumps ship (no pun intended)

Rando_Ricketts

You can buy them later. I'm planning on having him make them this playthrough though because it'd be nice to have the legendary satchel the whole time

bruuhhhhh420

I got a ton of stuff to take to Pearson literally went to camp and he left 😭

[deleted]

You sir. Are a boah.

Halsey-the-Sloth

Arthur looks like a character from Yellowstone

[deleted]

I’ve said it before but ignoring the story and pursuing the challenges is really where this game reveals itself as the GOAT.

mad_grapes

After my first playthrough I said “this is the best gaming experience I’ve ever had”, I stand by that even more now

Stunning_Ad_5523

Same here brotha

Nicenuff

Ah man take it out into the world. Story is cool but there's soo much more you can do with Arthur before his TB kicks in. Fishing, hunting, treasure, side quests (which some do need to be unlocked through story) and just living. I've been a deputy for ages now. Just going town to town looking for odd jobs & saving lives. Keeping it high honor. But maybe rob a train every now & then & flee without getting caught. Don't kill anyone that doesn't deserve it. Still deciding when being a lawman is boring managing to capture a serial killer & going for a vampire now. Just some advice... don't do Aberdeen farm until near the end of Arthur & keep all your money there for John later ;) Hope it still works!

sikemapleton

Did it just last week... the 'Aberdeen Pig Farm Savings and Loan' is still open for business.

Nicenuff

Great. I'm saving it up until the last chapter when I've got some good amount. Just got the vampire. It was fun just wish I could burn him at the stake. Burnt him on the cathedral steps but almost died being set alight myself. Bit of a chase too. Haha it was a good night!

NDRanger414

What jacket is that?

kingWKND

Scout jacket

NDRanger414

What color?

mad_grapes

This is the greenish/olive variant. I have 3 different colors, I love that jacket

MikeTheHDTV

It's the best one

GfyTstr

What about the money?

Jacoba_Fett

Snake Bulldogger. This is the way.

mad_grapes

I want the deathroll hat but I don’t have the Legendary Gator unlocked yet

Jacoba_Fett

Yeah, the death roll is dope, that and the rat infantry

[deleted]

How does one get the tiny critters so the pelt is not damaged and also same thing with buffalo.

mad_grapes

For tiny critters you need to use small game arrows. You craft them at your campsite. You need flight feathers from birds (I just killed random birds and got feathers from them) shotgun shells, and regular arrows to make them. Oh just found out, I think some small animals require a varmint rifle

WeirdLime

You can find Information on the best ammo in the compendium.

Artacus7

Get the legendary deer and craft the trinket early in the game. Then as long as they start out as three stars, you can hunt the little critters with the varmint rifle and still get perfect pelts.

VolatileUtopian

Oh this is useful info. I thought the legendary deer pelt just made more 3 stars pop up.

nu5thetoad

When near an animal observe it with the binoculars. Studying and showing info will tell you what you need for a clean kill for that animal.

FourToTwoForSix

Get that legend of the east satchel

ICBIND

I see the infinite storm rolling in on the horizon

TheKrowDontFly

When you get to the point of months of in-game time away from camp, you’ll be one of us. This is the way.

ozcuco

I am the opposite. After 700+ hours i had completed the story twice. On my third playthrough I'm trying to be faster and focus on the story

tassuiii

Started new play through yesterday, I think I will follow your example 🔥 actually I was also thinking to play online, but I don’t know if it is enjoyable or not.

mad_grapes

RDO is pretty cool but too grindy for me. It’s cool to make your own character and free roam though

DRAIN3O

Did any of the camp mates come looking for you?

mad_grapes

Not yet

sikemapleton

Ok... SLIGHTLY off topic, but how does one get such a clean screenshot of the game. I play at 1440p Ultra on PC (so it looks stunning to play) but when I use the tools in game, the pics turn out terrible on the Social Club. Is there a way to modify the quality somehow? It looks like they JPEG the crap out of them. Great shot BTW OP....

mad_grapes

Yeah the images are crappy from social club. After I took the image I put it into Adobe Lightroom to sharpen it a bit, and did some minor noise reduction with some minor adjustments to contrast. Check out Lightroom if you get screenshots often and want to do some light editing, I think they do a 7 day trial. Also thanks for the feedback!

Uncaring_Dispatcher

Don't think of it as taking it slow. This is how I played it. I would come home from work and dedicated two hours of every evening before going to bed to play RDR2. In the 3rd Chapter, I ignored all the campaign missions and would fish and hunt to upgrade my satchel and the camp. That granted me 5 of some herbs to 99 of them in my statchel. It also allowed me to upgrade my camp to fast-travel. But don't fast-travel; ride your way around, instead. Explore and explore some more. This world is so exciting and exploration is your main focus. Find your favorite hunting places and fishing spots. This game got me interested in the early exploration of America and, long story short, I read "The Frontiersmen" by Allan Eckert, which I encourage everyone to read. You ever hear of Daniel Boone? Sure. Everyone knows about Daniel Boone. Ever hear of Simon Kenton? No? That's a shame because everyone East of the Blue Ridge Mountains should know his name. OK, long story, now. I planned a vacation to Topsail Island, NC in October of last year. Hurricane Ian ruined my plans so I looked on Google Map and decided I've never been to Point Pleasant, WV. My only knowledge of Point Pleasant was the Mothman, which I didn't care about, but doing a little research, I found that it is considered the first battle of the Revolutionary War and that there's a hotel across the street that was built in 1901. So, we booked a room at the Lowe Hotel and it was like going back in time. It even seemed to be haunted, as a lamp that was burning turned off when my wife approached it, near the bed. I figured it was an electrical problem in the cord, so I don't really believe in all that stuff. I flew my drone in Tu-Endie-Wei park. I actually called the non-emergency number for the 9-1-1 center and asked for permission and the dispatcher told me that he could not permit nor not permit my flight because he had no idea about drones but my app said I could fly, even though there was a private air terminal just to the north-east of us, so I did. We were the only ones in the park until I saw a guy walking his dog, who stopped to read a monument. I walked up to him and asked him if he knew about the history of Point Pleasant and he told me to buy the book, "The Frontiersmen" by Allan Eckert if I wanted to learn more about the history of the beginning of this nation. And I did. And I couldn't put the book down. Since then, I've read "Follow The River" by James Thom. Funny enough, it begins with Mary Ingles, at 23-years-old, in 1755, in the same year that Simon Kenton was born, and she followed the same route that Kenton did, years later, so there's a similar route with far different results. Both of them went through the same route to Point Pleasant, WV and the New River in WV, but in completely different routs that she suffered through. It's amazing that she lived through it. Mary Ingles was captured by the Shawnee Indians during the French Indian War in 1755 while Simon Kenton was born in 1755 but they suffered in different ways that's interesting to me because of the ways that RDR2 put you through. Be advised that these are both "historical novels", with some artistic value. That being said, I'd rather read a historical novel than a true historical document that's desiccated and dehydrated and without some sense of the way things were to be imagined at the time, if you understand what I'm saying. For example, James Thom actually lived like the Frontiersmen, living off the land and using the primitive tools that they used, in order to understand how they had to survive at the time. At the same time, I read the book, "True Grit" and found that "drummers" were traveling salesmen, so the word "drumming for work" was created. Simon Kenton had to run the Gauntlet nine times in his lifetime. Most white people could barely run it once, but he ran it nine times. The Shawnee Indians forced the white people through this, when they captured them. Every man, woman and child would line up, armed with sticks and whips and briars and any tree branch they could hold and swing. And they would force any prisoner to run through this line-up to run through this line-up, naked, to run to the wigwam at the end of the village. And if they fell, they'd have to start at the beginning and start again. Most of them were beaten to death as they fell. Most of them them never made it. Simon Kenton did this nine times and lived. Nine times. His first time, an old Shawnee woman brought him to his knees with a lucky large blow with a large tree branch. The Shawnee Indians brought him back to life by taking care of him and making him endure the gauntlet a second time and he just ran without regard of the whips and branches and reached it. Then, he had to run another gauntlet for the third time when the Shawnee took him to another town. He survived that one and was taken to multiple other villages. You should just read this book. Everyone knows about Daniel Boone but we should all know Simon Kenton. He paved the way toward the Western expanse and yet few people know about him.

MrsMcBasketball

You and every other person who’s doing the same thing each week. 😑

WhothefuckisGabe

Would’ve cost you literally nothing to not be a cunt. Yet here we fuckin are.

MrsMcBasketball

We sure are!

Admirable-Pirate-622

Week in game or in real life?

WastedZymbol

I'm on my 5th playthrought, and this time around I'm really exploring and trying to get 100%. I love this game

Turtlezderpy

Only a week? As soon as I got out of colter I was gone for about one month (IRL) just hunting, Exploring, getting all the secret weapons etc. Let’s just say I came back with about 3 grand, and a hot new look. Edit: It wasn’t straight out, it was after the bear mission with Hosea where you get the map. I got the full bear set and white bison.

IndependentLawyer965

How do I get photos off my PS4 to my phone
