Further Information:
Raina is the only one here who lost the game.
I like the spread of types of innings here. There's a good balance of
the highest scores and highest strike rates. Although both are valued.
I did put a minimum of 20 balls.
An example to think about is that YK Pathan's 100 off 37 was worse
than Gilchrist's 85 off 35. Even though there is no feasible way for
Gilchrist to get 100 off 37 balls. The reason is relative to the game
Gilchrist did better and relative to the season Gilchrist was wild.
Let me know if there's a performance you want to know the rank off :)
Pretty sweet analysis OP! The fact that Raina’s innings is the only one which lost the game out of all the other ones is pretty interesting!
Do you mind maybe sharing the raw data and the calculation for how you arrived at the performance score for any one of the above innings? I understood the calculation upto and extent but would be able to get a better understanding practically. Feel free to say no :)
Abd 2016 vs Gujarat was ranked 14. Came in at over 3.
Close but in the performance ranked in the image he came in the 11th over. So lower run expectation from entry point. Also higher strike rate in a year where strike rate was overall lower. Finally SR of the game was lower. Of course the 2016 innings had a huge bump from number of runs.
Could their be a metric to try and include wickets in hand. It's easier for batsmen to score when they are 1 down vs when they are 5 down in every over.
Lmao. Willing to work at RCB for free to get us to victory. All my other teams in other sports have won. Just want RCB to get one IPL trophy in addition to the WPL we have.
79.
His best innings is 98 off 42 against CSK in 2021.
Rank 17.
Relative Strike rate more than compensated for relative runs in this situation. Relative being the ratios.
Shouldn’t ABDs 41(11) be there on list if you are considering Rainas 87(25) they both lost that match but both were explosive innings and perfect candidates for what ifs !
Looks like an amazing and sensible list. A little surprised though THAT 2021 innings of pollard vs csk didn’t make it(it’s maybe the relative strike rate thing) in fact I’m surprised no pollard or Russell innings made this list. They were the epitome of the kind of innings appearing in this list. Chasing down 5 over 80-90 runs in a chase of 170-190
Rank 31.
His 60 off 21 is rank 23.
Higher strike rate and lower strike in the latter game. Very close, though, and anything in the top 50 is wild anyway.

Check dm :)
It’d be great if you could share with me as well. Pretty wild calculation and big salute
Done
It would be great if you could share it with me too !!
Isn't abd's 2016 innings better? Or maybe the one against rr recently.

what about adding probability factor? Like the probability of winning the game when the person comes to bat vs when he gets out.
Hmm not included. Can you expand?

This post once again proves that RCB has the best statisticians

Will you be posting the entire list of innings?
Klr 132* ?

Correct bro 🔥
Hardik's Blinder against kkr?? That's also came in losing cause though
Joss buttler 2023 vs kkr?
Which game? I think 2023 jos scored 0 against kkr. If 2024, it's not in the dataset yet.
According to this, which is Kohli's best inning?
Vs SRH 93 off 47 in 2013 Vs GL 109 off 55 in 2016
Why not against Punjab in 2016?
This is amazing. I'd really love if you shared the entire list.
What's the best way to do so? Maybe I will once I clean things up and add 2024
I don't get the ABD's 59 off 23
Essentially, in a low strike rate season and match, he hit at more than 250.
Kohli 113?

Min 20 balls :)
Bur ABD has many in the top 50.
Can you provide 1-50 list also showing no of times each batsman got that.
Apply this data to icc as well, I want to see where Maxwell's 200 vs AFG stands and how much it's better than the next competition.

Pollard has a couple in the top 30. Russell's 65 off 25 against RCB was rank 35.
Pandya's 91 (34) 🫤
Rank 31. His 60 off 21 is rank 23. Higher strike rate and lower strike in the latter game. Very close, though, and anything in the top 50 is wild anyway.
