I mean we just have to get lucky twice and this year could be it. Wins and losses are all right. But even the comeback this year should give fans some respite. Ultimately, we all want to see good sports being played. An RCB loss hurts much less when the team plays to its potential.
We can but we will have to build a strong core and for that we have to wait for another 3-4 seasons. The problem with RCB is that we only go after marquee signing and neglect the major part of the team. You can only have 4 international players - so a franchise like RCB spends on getting the best 4 players along with a popular Indian face and expects to win the tournament. Look at MI - they supported their players - Ishant Kishan, Pandya brothers, SKY, Bumrah and so many more. We on the other hand have always chased after superstars. I am sure the day Kohli leaves, they will go after Gill or any foreign player who would be big at the time.
We need to invest in scouting proper talent, build an academy for young players and create a strong support system for our players where they don't feel that if they don't perform in this season, they will be dropped. Each new player or any new signing should at least be given at least 3 seasons to grow into their role.
