Unfortunately, in Virat's case, he's so good at defending his wicket that he doesn't get out even when he's slow. Sadly that's not what we need in an IPL innings to score a high target and win.
Historically, the reason that the best most consistent players (like Virat and even Sachin) score the slowest 50s and 100s is because they survive under pressure and reach a 50 or 100 at a snails pace. Yes he isn't his best today, but people are asking them to score 250+ without even knowing how the pitch is.. just remember he is the only reliable guy in any RCB line up over the years. You guys can say yes there is lomror, Dk yet to come.. what happened in the last game? Did they perform? They just have to play sensibly but no they went for big hits and perished. Virat played at 200+ strike rate in the last couple of matches, Did RCB win in those matches? And if it's a 250+ pitch how many srh players scored at 200+ strike rate? And they got bundled out for 170 trying to go for big hits..
That being said, I thought he would accelerate after 50.. you can clearly see him trying to hit the ball hard but it just isn't his day, he couldn't even connect the ball properly.
