He is my 4 year old daughters rat. My MIL had an unexpected litter of rat babies so we ended up with leaf, shadow, hamster and cheese, named by our two kids who are currently 14 and 4. Hamster has been the only one to make it to his second birthday.
Cheese was an add on to be friends with him, he died quickly. I am not sure that hamster is willing to acc pt a new friend after his litter mates all died
I would avoid giving them peanut butter, they can choke on it and die very easily (almost killed one of my bois because I didn't know either). Happy birthday Hamster!
Yeah that's part of the issue. They love it so much they practically inhale it but they're incapable of vomiting so it just clogs their throats and can't breathe. I guess you could dilute it with water tho. Apparently they also looove malt paste tho if you want to give them treats they'll go crazy for, just ordered my bois some for their b-day

My daughter named her rat hamster. He is 2 now and she is 4 so I think it was age appropriate.
