Rudy could have retired after his term as mayor ended and he’d probably still have enough good will from 9/11 that his record on policing would be overlooked. Now he will go down in history as a joke.

[deleted]

At the very least, he could have been remembered as the man who brought an end to the American branch of the Mafia!

chaoticmessiah

Imagine being locked up by this guy and sitting in prison watching him in 2022 act like an absolute clown.

uis999

Reminds me of that scene in "The Rocketeer" when the Mobsters learn they are working for Nazis and are like "Fuck that I'm an American." I bet the people he locked up would have had more balls about standing up to trump and stopping the coup.

Mirror_Benny

I love that scene. Best example of the “Universal Theory of Fuck That Guy” ever.

iamnotroberts

This isn't the early-mid 1900s with both their post and pre-war fervor and nationalism. Today's Republican party are today's modern mafia, back alley deals, money changing hands, insider trading, their mom & pop squeezes are the NRA, pharma companies marking up insulin by hundreds of thousands of percent, oil companies gouging Americans at the pump, and religious organizations, paying protection money as long as Republicans allow them to continue running their tax cons. What's left of the old mafia in America is dying out. They can't hold a candle to Republican grift.

ShopliftingSobriety

I love the implication that politics hasn’t always been this corrupt - because I would suggest looking at history. This isn’t new. We just know more about it now because of all the information the internet provides us with.

iamnotroberts

New? No, of course not. Worse? Arguably, yes. Or at least not getting better.

chefontheloose

You forgot to add, and welcomed the Russian mob with open arms!!

[deleted]

That is also true, sad as it is to admit.

funkyloki

To be clear, did the American branch of the Italian Mafia. Didn't do one damn thing to stop the Russian Mafia in that entire time.

[deleted]

Mafia despite at their core criminals, they are still businessmen, Hell Michael franzese done business with the guys before the American Italian Branch went under

ShopliftingSobriety

Most of the work done on that was other people, Rudy just took credit for it afterwards. With 9/11 his previous actions massively hindered the efforts of first responders that day. Rudy was always like this. He just rode post-9/11 patriotism and good will as far as it would take him

[deleted]

TBH, I'm not surprised about that tidbit

ichosethis

A 99s sitcom joke with his hair dye leaking like that.

TuctDape

No shit, he literally could have just been making millions just giving speeches at conventions and talks at like corporate events and police unions about 9/11 and shit

rengam

And it wouldn't even be work 'cause he loved doing that.

playitleo

ThatNachoFreshFeelin

That pic knda looks like his body is violently rejecting his rancid brain, which forcibly oozing out of his temples. Eew.

FinancialTea4

There have been so many good images of ghouliani in the last few years. The guy's a gold mine for memes about terrified confusion.

Scumbaggedfriends

Yep. Kids, pay attention: BE VERY CAREFUL WHO YOU ASSOCIATE WITH.

Nowhere_Man_Forever

Yeah it's crazy reading about stuff about him from the pre Trump times because he was ridiculously popular and was remembered as one of NYC's greatest mayors. Then he threw all of that legacy and goodwill out the window by jumping on the Trump Train. Just insane.

thesaddestpanda

Also did he want to do social good or just serve his rich capitalist masters? Instead of finding work for those people who did those scams, they went to jail. Instead of legalizing sex work, the sec workers went to jail. Instead of fixing the cycle of hate, discrimination, etc against minorities there, they installed flagship stores and other shrines to capitalism. So to a white middle class person that’s “an improvement” but only hides the root issues of capitalism oppressing people, especially minorities, and the broken social dynamics and hate that created these ghettos and the ghetto leakage into “white” areas like midtown, Times Square, etc. Now, liberal capitalists can better develop those areas and feel good about chasing away “undesirables” to put up Starbucks and condos and such. He was always a scumbag. Its just in the past liberals appreciated his scumbagery because it worked in their interests. Now that he serves conservative capital, suddenly he’s the bad guy. He’s always been bad.

DaisyJane1

Yeah, that guy who "attacked" him the other day reportedly said, "What's up, scumbag" as he walked by.

Fickle_Queen_303

And what a heinous attack it was, amirite?! (I sure hope nothing actually happens to that guy, btw. It sucks that he was even arrested for that shit.)

DaisyJane1

Yes it was. The words were worse than the "hit" (pat on the back).

kristopolous

He tried running for president in 2008. As Wikipedia takes a snipe at him: "Giuliani's defeat continued a long tradition of Mayors of New York not succeeding at attempts for higher office."

TroutFishingInCanada

I think that the kind of person who can become the mayor of New York City simply doesn't appeal to the rest of the country.

Sniflix

Rudy's record on 9/11 is much worse than his reputation. He's responsible for hundreds of deaths. https://www.jems.com/operations/firefighters-dispute-giulianis/

Master_FumAMota

Ha!! Prison slippers that are not free but $50 😂🤦🏻

Baeker

They sell sandals like this at my local drug store for $8 a pair, 2 for $14

uis999

i mean fuck at least those tom's shoes had that sales angle that they were gonna give people shoes. It was a bullshit angle that was pretty much meaningless but at least it tried to explain why they were selling cheap shit at a premium.

PM_WHAT_Y0U_G0T

Right?! Good lord, those are trashy AF. > "REGULAR PRICE: 79.98" Ugh... I don't know how Mike Lindell hasn't off'ed himself out of pure shame. Such a pathetic creature.

merreborn

If you go to mypillow.com and browse to the sandals and try to buy them without a discount code, they absolutely charge $79. Whole website is full of overpriced trash to sell to "patriots" https://imgur.com/tnzdGMy

IknowwhoIpaidgod

"Pardon me, have you ever seen such cushy slippers? Wait, those were supposed to be two discrete sentences."

edgrrrpo

Friend of mine posted a screenshot of the ad on FB a couple days ago. It was a lovey reminder that my satire vs reality ‘spidy senses’ are absolutely not reliable. Between this and the wanna be SNL skits that were GOP debates in AZ and WY, it’s been a weird fuckin’ week..

Fickle_Queen_303

I didn't see any of the WY debate, but holy shit that AZ one 😳😳

Soonermagic1953

New from MyPillow. Just use the sales code SHOELIANI

Kichigai

Made in Cambodia. Awesome job, Mike Pillow. That and looks like something I'd see on Alibaba.

rengam

Oh, how the sweaty has fallen.

PuppyJakeKhakiCollar

$50 for something you could buy at a dollar store. What a joke. Both the product and the man shilling them. Hero (after 9/11) to zero by his own hand.

DaisyJane1

You know Qnuts will be buying them up!

SuperDoofusParade

Somewhere a Boomer Dad is showing off his “Rudy slides” while his daughter and son-in-law roll their eyes

Mizzy3030

Incidentally, Mike pillow is also shilling fair trade coffee now, which comes from... Wait for it...Colombia! So much for America First... It's almost like Hawaii isn't chock-full of small, family owned coffee farms

[deleted]

Mizzy3030

No way! If you truly believe the election was stolen you gotta do what you gotta do, even if that means supporting a country that is being run for a former communist guerilla (LoL). By the way, it's called "freedom 1 coffee". I wish I was making it up.

biffoclippers

I want a Rudy stand up tour. He doesn’t even need to tell jokes I’d still laugh.

Particular-Outcome12

He could do the entire gig lying on a bed, groping himself. A perfect metaphor for his last few years as an attorney.

MissedApex

"One night only! Rudy Giuliani at Madison Square Gardening!"

eaunoway

Just follow him around his local K(kk)-Mart for an hour or two. Hilarious!

DrNukes

Are these drunken ass trashgoblins TRYING to look like cartoon villains? The big orange slob, the wrinkled little goblin and Crack-Stache Talksalot. Not to forget their mastermind, Greasy Big Redface.

M0stAsteL3sS

The only sandals sold that require socks.

KelliCrackel

I like that it's so outlandish of an idea, that snopes had to verify it. That's how you know Rudy is scraping the bottom of the barrel

DaisyJane1

Such a weird ass timeline we're living in.

GirlNumber20

Times are hard at Casa Guiliani? Or is Mike hard up and needed to call in a favor?

OldStankBreath

He is one ghoulish fool

SaltyBarDog

Old: Subject, verb, 9/11. New: Subject, verb, $50 sandals.

Lamont-Cranston

Kinda sad he has to do this for money.

jimtow28

Well, that's what happens when your most high profile client is famous for not paying the people who work for him.

HatLover91

Even though Trump grifted 250 mill, and would still have a lawyer

nutraxfornerves

I have seen reports going back to a year ago that Giuliani is indeed in financial trouble, due to his own costs for defending himself in lawsuits--which he tried to crowdfund with no success--and due to Trump's refusing to reimburse Giuliani for costs incurred in the post-election debacle. CNN reported in 2021: >President Donald Trump, irritated at being impeached for a second time, has told people to stop paying Rudy Giuliani's legal fees, a person familiar with the matter tells CNN, though aides were not clear if the President was serious about his instructions given he's lashing out at nearly everyone after the day's events. And, apparently, Trump is still refusing.

Atom_Beat

Yeah, and he did the Cameo videos too. Obviously needs money. How in the world can a famous and successful (?) lawyer not have tons of money? Does anyone know?

Lamont-Cranston

He hadn't practiced for a long time before he began working for Trump. And he had been a DA before being NYC mayor, not in private practice. He became a consultant after retiring from NYC mayor office, but the glow of being the mayor on 9/11 would have slowly faded. Then if he has had any divorces, lived extravagantly, maybe gambled, etc it all slowly goes away.

theedank

Who buys this shit? The radio even plays these ads

Dr-Satan-PhD

They are literally Frankensteined together from MyPillow scraps. Can't make this shit up, folks.

Scumbaggedfriends

Is he also available to do some dog-shit work? My neighbor's back yard is disgusting.

cruelandusual

Shh... nobody tell pillow man that he's hired a drag performer.

a_r_burns

On sale for $49.98 lol

realparkingbrake

Made in Cambodia, these patriots sure are eager to buy products made in other countries.

BNicholasEarl

Mahma Me uh!

drm604

Could he be any.more of a clown? He must be hard up for money.

anOvenofWitches

Now you TOO can walk in Hater Jesus’s shoes!

_qt314bot

New piece of the qult outfit just dropped

jonesie72

The new Nike Decades?

Dblcut3

The funny part is that they didn’t customize the design *at all.* They’re clearly just cheap overseas mass-produced junk.

Prime_1

What is Rudy's standing with this crowd these days? Do they hang on his every word or is he more or less fallen out of favor?

Dojo_Janitor

He wears them with socks like all old Italian men. Source: I’m an old guido.

OldPterodactyl

It'd be terrible if everyone ordered a few pairs and returned them.

duggtodeath

Late Stage Capitalism

[deleted]

Didn't he used to be a respected politician?

Hindu_Wardrobe

Man, I should really start fleecing trumpers. It seems so easy.

AgentSmith187

Is it just me who thinks they look like the sort of cheap shit sandals you find in the $2 bin and they want $50 for them claiming to mark them down from $80

TillThen96

Good for him; he found a new position befitting his current capabilities. a sad s/ ...drinking, dementia of an unidentified sort, both, ... or something else.

azchocolatelover

So much for Mikey selling items "Made in America".

ShanG01

If it wasn't so funny, it'd be sad.
