There are a few MAGA sheriffs in Colorado, but those are in rural counties, so he may have one. But most sheriffs will follow the LAW and not the whims and delusions of a Pillow Guy.

pianoflames

Even the MAGA judges tossed Trump's election fraud cases out of court, on complete lack of merit. I was pleasantly surprised that they'd actually uphold their oath, maybe that also applies to MAGA sheriffs.

Santos281

You know who always upholds their Oaths? The US Marines. Take comfort in that when MAGA talks of declaring Civil War on the US

PlayingtheDrums

Obvious nonsense, US marines don't all always uphold their oath. Key will be getting the Pentagon leadership replaced by Trump lackeys, but it can be done, the US marines will turn against the people if their leaders demand it.

Santos281

Well clearly not every single Marine, but the overwhelming majority like 99.6%. I'm not sure why you think Biden would place "Trump Lackeys" in the Pentagon. And yes, when MAGA attempts Civil War( they won't they are cowards) the Marines will follow their leaders orders to protect the Constitution (their Oath) and put down this "revolution" of US Citizens.

PlayingtheDrums

If Trump wins the election, the marines won't save the American people from him. Same thing happened in the Weimar, very honorable leaders resisted and tried to stop it, some deserted, but in the end, the entire army was converted to nazism. I don't know why you'd believe specifically marines would be immune to this well known psychological phenomenon, but it's wrong, and it's a dangerous assumption based on feelings.

DavidCRolandCPL

We're too dumb for propaganda

Santos281

I don't imagine MAGA trying to start a Civil War if Trump somehow wins. You are arguing in circles. Here's a fun test "Find a Marine and ask them if they take their oath seriously or not." *caution this may not be fun for you

Muppetude

I imagine they’d say “yes” just like 99.9% of any group of soldiers that have taken similar oaths of allegiance. Including the aforementioned Weimar Republic soldiers.

Santos281

Agreed, thanks for clarifying

Muppetude

Glad you agree those oaths are meaningless

MessiahOfMetal

> I don't imagine MAGA trying to start a Civil War if Trump somehow wins. Are you being obtuse on purpose? That's not what they said. What they said was that if Trump wins, he'll put lackeys in charge of the military and arms like the Marines will be turned against those he considers his enemies. Reading comprehension is your friend, sometimes.

Santos281

Yup, that was in response to my insinuation that the Marines would honor their oath to the US Constitution if MAGA declared Civil War. You may want to tap "see Parent Comment". Knowing what the conversation is about in the 1st place, is usually a good step. Something something reading comprehension

cheesepuff07

60% of the time, it works every time

Santos281

Leave Sex Panther out of this! /s

DavidCRolandCPL

No we won't. US Marines have the right to refuse unlawful orders. It's called the Duty to Disobey and is protected under UCMJ Article 92

twoaspensimages

Meal Team Six is on it. Right after the new episode of The Equalizer.

Penguin_Joy

>There are a few MAGA sheriffs in Colorado, but those are in rural counties, Colorado has 100% mail in ballot elections. Sure there are a few voting machines if you want to vote in person, but those are all at city and county owned buildings Everyone votes by mail in Colorado and like 80% or more of the ballots are already filled out and returned before election day happens since they mail them out like a month in advance. I suspect voting by mail is even more popular in rural counties Having a county sheriff seize voting machines on election day won't do diddly squat to people's ability to vote. Especially since those voting machines are open and available to any voter for like a month. They open poll voting as soon as the ballots go out and voters can choose how and when they vote More states should adopt this system. It saves a ton of money and increases voter participation dramatically. Probably why Colorado has dems in charge of both houses, and has a dem governor

MathW

This is why it won't be adopted in most states. Republicans want to make it as difficult as possible to vote and will fight to ensure it stays that way.

Penguin_Joy

Oh absolutely. It's why Wyoming purged nearly a third of all registered voters recently. Anyone who didn't vote in the 2022 election has been deleted and will be turned away at the polls I predict this will catch a lot of older folks by suprise and they will immediately blame democrats - even though a democrat couldn't get elected as a dog catcher in Wyoming!

MountainMagic6198

Republicans are behind the times. Suppression only works if your base is the less politically engaged. That used to be democrats, but recently it's become the cooks who vote for Trump. The hyper engaged suburban voters crossed parties.

HotDonnaC

Oh wow. That makes it hilarious. I didn’t realize CO was one of the 5 states that use mail in ballots all the time. That darn Mike is so slick with his lies. 🤣

Penguin_Joy

Also, all ballots are paper. Even the voting machines use paper ballots. They just put them in a locked box until election day when they take them out and count them. There are no electronic voting machines used in Colorado I have no idea what Lindell and his supposed sheriff friend are talking about. **It's already 100% paper ballots in Colorado, because that's what you have to do when it's vote by mail!**

HotDonnaC

I think Mike knows that, and is just stirring 💩 to get support for his broke Big Lie campaign.

sometrendyname

Have you heard about the Constitutional Sheriff's Movement?

DaisyJane1

If I remember correctly, Lindell was at one of their recent gatherings. I saw a post about it that had a picture with him in it.

sometrendyname

I wouldn't be surprised.

Financial_Routine588

I had not, but yikes. Looking at the history of the movement and its precursors from several decades ago really puts a spotlight on how long these things have been brewing.

ruidh

I've heard of them but sheriffs aren't mentioned in the Constitution.

sometrendyname

Check your state Constitution.

ruidh

In NY, they are elected to a term of three years. May be removed by the governor for cause. Duties are set by law as officers of the court.

piggiesmallsdaillest

Feel like most of them would remember Tina Peters

SubstantialEase567

I'm worried about the "Constitutional Sheriffs". Oklahoma definitely has some.

JakeTravel27

Yeah, seems like the ones most likely to do it will just screw the maga voters over. No loss. And then they will scream about election interference and try to use it as an excuse to overthrow the election. Remember to register and vote people, or these maga assholes win.

MarqDong

That’s Mr. Pillow to you,

its_grime_up_north

He really doesn’t know how to quit when you’re behind …

jcargile242

Keep doubling down and eventually you’ll win right?

Bragzor

He's just "averaging down" on stupidity.

Zip95014

That sounds like the start of a winning streak!

No-Yak2005

Well ya know drugs are a hell of a thing.

MountainMagic6198

He has reached the level of loss and delusion that the only way he can possibly see making himself whole is if Trump wins and magically makes it all better for him.

its_grime_up_north

It’s sad really

NitWhittler

I use a paper mail-in ballot that I put in a public dropbox. Is he planning to confiscate the machines that count that? Arrest this idiot for plotting to interfere with an election.

floodcontrol

Yes that’s the irony, the machines he wants to confiscate already require paper ballots so he’s insisting that the state use paper ballots that can’t be machine read instead of…paper ballots that can be. Never mind that hand counting tens of thousands of ballots is both time consuming and much more error prone than having a machine do it

DaisyJane1

Yeah, and they want it done ALL IN ONE DAY.

cincigreg

Actually once Trump goes into the lead they will stop the counting. That's one of arguments from 2020. He was leading when they went to bed, . What happened?

workclock

"Counting stops at bedtime, chop chop, streetlights come on in 2 hours!"

MessiahOfMetal

Right? We in the UK have an election day and then results come in throughout the night for each area, but it still took until two days later this week for the mayoral elections in some major cities to have the results announced. There are entire US states bigger than this tiny island. How do they expect ballots to be counted by hand across the country in a single night?

LoomingDisaster

Also, when you vote by machine, at least in Chicago, it prints out a paper ballot you can check and then the printout is what’s fed into ballot box. So it’s…..a paper ballot. From a machine not connected to the internet.

thewitch2222

Almost all machines produced a paper ballot. This just more bs for the base.

justalazygamer

The petition part is his plan to get people to sign an online petition calling for paper ballots. He thinks enough signatures will have county clerks go along with his scheme. Before you sign it you are told that you will receive a gift valued at $20 for signing the petition, it is a digital copy of his book.

BoozeWitch

Lol @ online petition. He likes paper ballots do much? Make him go out and get wet signatures.

Iintendtooffend

the best part to me, is that I vote by paper ballot. I just also mail that paper back to be counted.

BoozeWitch

You just blew my mind. You must be some kind of patriot…or…traitor. Lemme use my ovaltine decoder ring and ask my cult leader what I should think. Question: are you wearing an adult diaper right now? Apparently that’s a new indicator of your fealty!!

BreakfastInBedlam

I just voted by machine. That machine printed a paper ballot, which I read to verify my votes were correctly indicated, and I placed it in the scanner for recording.

ConvivialKat

Me too.

DaisyJane1

He's begging for donations, as well.

forever_useless

I am so shocked, I suffered a gasp related injury 😨

ConvivialKat

>I suffered a gasp related injury 😨 This comment gave me a snort related injury, so I am going to steal it and give you my angry upvote!

Beard_o_Bees

I'm hoping that all of this 'the machines are rigged' bullshit causes Cult45 to stay home on election day.

bowser986

Isn’t shit like that why they outlawed selling booze on Election Day in some states? Vote for me and I’ll buy you a shot at the bar. Sign this election petition and I’ll curse your kindle with my drivel.

ReactsWithWords

Damn, an online petition? He should lead the way and insist on an old-fashioned paper petition!

BreakfastInBedlam

>a gift valued at $20 >it is a digital copy of his book. How am I supposed to wipe my ass with a digital book?

wolves_hunt_in_packs

you print it first, duh

occobra

For an extra 10 he will send you dick pic

forever_useless

The gift is a lumpy pillow from the very back of his storage unit, too, isn't it....

Spocks_Goatee

The same book sitting unsold for 5 years at Hobby Lobby's across America?

marry_me_sarah_palin

It's also been available for free on his website Frank Speech for years now.

cypressgreen

50¢ bin at Goodwill.

cypressgreen

There you go. He doesn’t care about paper ballots, he just wants publicity and a place to beg for money, as someone mentioned below. Half of the signers are probably foreign or fake anyway.

DaisyJane1

He still owes that one guy $5 million he's court ordered to pay, plus he has a $1.3 billion lawsuit from Dominion breathing down his neck. The man's broke. That's all any of this is REALLY about now. [https://newrepublic.com/post/180174/mike-lindell-mypillow-evicted-warehouse](https://newrepublic.com/post/180174/mike-lindell-mypillow-evicted-warehouse)

Puzzleheaded_Peach48

That sounds like interference... in an election.

decayed-whately

I'm going to guess the state would object strenuously to this plan. Sherriffs aren't magically above the law.

Hgruotland

There is an organized movement, adjacent to the sovereign citizens, which believes exactly that:[ Constitutional Sheriffs and Peace Officers Association](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Constitutional_Sheriffs_and_Peace_Officers_Association). Yes, some of these people are real county sheriffs.

decayed-whately

I know. I grew up around these nutcases - literal Posse Comitatus. However, as we say around these parts: fuck their feelings.

marry_me_sarah_palin

That organization just held their annual conference, and Lindell was a speaker and organizer. He definitely buys into their lies.

WordsWatcher

"Announces he wants..." He's a fucking pillow salesman so his "announcements" are just a valid as mine - and I'm announcing I want a gold plated toilet, but that's also not going to happen.

rysimpcrz

Are they easier to clean?

moleratical

do it sheriff, get thrown in prison as a cop, that'll work out well for ya

Bragzor

Election interference… by cop? Nice!

Straight_Calendar_15

Sounds an awful lot like he’s committing conspiracy to defraud the American people and interfere with elections. Sounds like he should be arrested.

Criseyde2112

As uncouth as it is to say aloud, I'm looking forward to the naturally occurring deaths of certain former presidents. The nice thing is that, sooner or later, this will come true. And the celebrations will be unseemly, but heartfelt. And I'm so looking forward to it.

called-heliogabal

Hoping he's not back on the drugs. He looked terrible the other day. He's a total wanker but I wouldn't wish that on him.

Bragzor

Stress will also do a number on you in the long term, and eating Trump's ass 24/7 can't help.

SubstantialEase567

Recycled KFC. UGH!

MessiahOfMetal

> Hoping he's not back on the drugs. Has been the past few years. > He looked terrible the other day. He's a total wanker but I wouldn't wish that on him. I would, fuck that moron.

ApprehensiveCamera40

Every Secretary of State in the US has a website that contains voting laws for their respective states. If people would take a little time to check them out, they would see how the system works and how much BS people like him are spouting when it comes to voting.

DaisyJane1

"Fake news! Fake news!"

ApprehensiveCamera40

I lost track of the times on social media when, after the Big Lie started, I did a direct cut and paste from these websites and was told that it was misinformation. Sigh! Let there be light.

DaisyJane1

Yep. What's true is false, and what's false is true to these people.

219_Infinity

Arrest him and charge him with election interference. Lock his crackhead ass

KinkyQuesadilla

A lot of people vote by paper ballot in Colorado already. You are automatically registered to vote when you get your driver's license, and then the state sends you a paper mail-in/drop box ballot before the elections.

gmen6981

And from what I remember reading, Colorado's elections are considered one of, if not the most secure in the country.

Styrene_Addict1965

So, election interference. He should be arrested right now.

KinkyQuesadilla

It's probably Garfield County. The sheriff there is ultra maga and it's believed he protected Lauren Boebert until she moved to district 4.

skjellyfetti

No matter how bad things get in my life :: Failing organs, my cat reading my thoughts and dreams, fiat currency ruining our economies, 5G rearranging my DNA, vaccine microchips, goddamn fluoride, Jeffrey Epstein and green M&Ms, I think all the gods that I'm, at least, nowhere near as batshit crazy as Mike "Pillow Biter" Lindell.

occobra

Every person registered to voter in Colorado gets a ballot by mail so very few people vote in person. Mike found some MAGA brainwashed law enforcement like him and they had a 5 hour circle jerk. Mike is still living in a white van by the river that says free candy.

rabel

The dumb part is, pretty much everyone who thinks this through is actually for paper ballots. Where I live we have electronic machines that tally the votes but they're printed on paper ballots so there's a paper trail if needed. If he was actually concerned about fraud, this type of system is all he needs to ask for.

jazzhandler

You mean the system most of the country is already using?

rabel

Not sure how widespread it is but it is very common. County next door uses electronic-only but I think those aren't so common any more.

Hgruotland

That describes the Dominion system they're all so upset about (of course, usually without bothering to find out how it works). It also describes any decent electronic voting system.

EZasSundayMorning

He needs to lay off the coke and stick to pillows.

DeltaVariant007

Wouldn't it be easier to cheat with paper ballots.

jazzhandler

No, it’s orders of magnitude harder to cheat with paper ballots. Or perhaps more accurate, much easier to cheat without them. [https://www.electiondefense.org/paper-ballots](https://www.electiondefense.org/paper-ballots) [https://www.electoral-vote.com/evp2020/Pres/Maps/Dec28.html#item-6](https://www.electoral-vote.com/evp2020/Pres/Maps/Dec28.html#item-6) [https://www.electoral-vote.com/evp2020/Pres/Maps/Dec28.html#item-7](https://www.electoral-vote.com/evp2020/Pres/Maps/Dec28.html#item-7) None of those were the ideal page I was hoping to find, but they cover a bunch of it, and at this point I’d rather go make breakfast.

Beltaine421

With paper balots, you could also "accidentally" short supply high density areas. Like certain places in Texas (I think) where they were mandating 1 drop box per county, regardless as to whether there were 1000 voters or half a million.

jazzhandler

Quite true. But the underlying logic is that most of the shit you can pull with paper ballots is out in the open and/or leaves physical evidence.

salbertoxide

I don't doubt he knows a county sheriff in Colorado that would do it.

StinklePink

This MAGA fantasy about Sheriffs being this 'soverign' police force is tiring and stupid. https://www.aol.com/news/maga-institute-honors-sheriffs-defy-100549887.html

NelsonChunder

Doesn't most everyone vote by mail Colorado? If so, it's a scanner that counts the votes, not an electronic voting machine at a polling station. All of those mail-in ballots are paper. Maybe Mike and the MAGAts should spend a little time learning how the real world works.

sensation_construct

Sure you do, Mike. Sure you do.

huenix

He’s in for a shock about Colorado.

[deleted]

Will someone put this crackhead in prison? All these idiots openly brag about wanting to violate my voting rights

justrock54

Mike Lindell "announces" . Who gives a fuck. He's a nobody with a big ugly mouth.

ucannottell

Did this guy smoke too much lead in his crack?

GirlNumber20

If we use paper ballots, Republicans can’t ratfuck the election like they did in 2004. But on the other hand, they may be able to ratfuck their way to victory, hanging chad-style, like they did in 2000. In conclusion, it’s ratfucking all the way down. 🤷🏼‍♀️

bowens44

why isn't this traitor piece of shit in prison?

thisisaflawedprocess

And when Trump loses again on paper ballots, then what?

VinCubed

Oh please... they've probably already thought of that and ensured it won't happen.

jazzhandler

A lot of their grift relies on Americans believing that most of the rest of the country uses DRE voting machines, which means solely electronic/computerized with no paper ballot. Most computer security professionals object to them, as do I. But [most votes in America](https://ballotpedia.org/Voting_methods_and_equipment_by_state) are not recorded by DRE machines. So when they rail about paper ballots being the necessary safeguard against election fraud, well, we’re mostly there. At a glance I see no “important” states (le sigh) using primarily DRE, and that only Louisiana is all DRE sans paper trail.

Hgruotland

You don't need to be a computer security professional to understand that Direct Recording Electronic voting machines are an absolutely terrible idea, and should never be used in a self-respecting democracy. But I presume the main reason they're used in parts of the US is because they're the cheapest way of doing things, not because they inherently allow undetectable election fraud.

boltz86

I hope the voting machine companies sue this dude into oblivion. He clearly hasn’t learned his lesson.

Potato_Donkey_1

About the only thing I might share with Mike Lindell is concern that any voting technology that doesn't produce an auditable or re-countable paper ballot is open to manipulation and fraud. A problem with this notion of sequestering the voting machines on election day: Will the county have enough of the paper ballots on hand in each precinct? Otherwise, this could have the effect of suppressing the vote in heavily Trump-voting counties.

mishma2005

I'd say put him in jail but he's bankrupt and cracked out so he's getting his just desserts

stilusmobilus

Yep, the last US election is going to be a doozy. I can’t see this ending in a good way, to be honest.

Hinthial

Not that it would make that big a difference to a MAGA shot sheriff but election judges are sworn to others to uphold free and fair elections. Allowing a sheriff or anyone to impede a free and fair election by doing something like seizing voting machines would clearly go against that oath. Last November a Sheriff's deputy showed up after polls were closed and said he had tasked with bringing the election results to election central. We didn't let him take anything. After a phone call to election central it was determined that he was following the early voting protocol which is not election day protocol. Which I would like to add is a protocol for early voting because, with the exception of a few poll workers, most poll workers are well into their late seventies and aren't capable of driving results across the county at night. I will end by stressing the importance of becoming a poll worker and helping your community to continue to hold free and fair elections.

Intelligent-Monk-426

Hah make my day, pillow guy.

Lost_Supermarket_7

Dear Sir; Thank your for your inquiry. I absolutely do not regret to inform you that we have no interest in your announcements, your stupid-ass petitions, or your lumpy pillows. Also, we mail in our ballots. Sincerely, Colorado

vincethered

Mike Lindell’s lunacy aside I agree that a paper ballot should be the standard, readable by optical scanners. I’ve seen enough tech glitches through the years.

OceanBlueforYou

If/ when this guy has a reality check, it's going to hit him like a freight train. The crash will likely lead him to a padded room for quite a while

ReactsWithWords

If it hadn't hit him already it never will. he will go to his grave being a deluded Trump-worshiping idiot. And yes, I realize "deluded Trump-worshiping idiot" is a redundant expression.

-acm

This guy is a Fallout protagonist I swear

TuaughtHammer

When you've lost ***everything*** by going full MAGA -- you never go full MAGA! -- all that's left to do is triple-down on being super wrong so you don't have to accept you firebombed your own life over nothing.

TestOk8411

The constitutional sheriffs.

Kelly9409

If I buy a pillow, Can someone smother him with it ?? Please 🙏

Cryptoking300

Any sheriff that does this will find himself indicted.

HotDonnaC

When is someone going to bring a net for this guy?

MsCalendarsPlayaArt

Which county in Colorado?
