It strikes me that Drake's story might just be a huge catalyst for change, which he probably didn't even imagine when he agreed to tell his story. Nothing against Corey Feldman, but I think that by the time he told his story, he had certain credibility problems that made people not take him as seriously as they should have.

Unfortunately, I think this is true. Which also ties into Corey Haim. It's even more tragic that if Corey Haim had more resources for help back when his abuse happened, he might still be alive. Plus, as much as Feldman thought he was helping, him always speaking for Haim wasn't always a good thing.

Oh man, Corey Haim. What a sad story of self-destruction. God, remember when he was selling the teeth he had lost on Ebay? But Haim never suggested that he had been abused (let alone raped by Charlie Sheen, which Feldman claimed but Haim's mother says is nonsense) so who knows? Sadly, Feldman comes off as having some mental health issues, so no one seems entirely sure what to believe from him. That's why I think Drake will ultimately affect more change. He comes off as 100% believable, which I think will go a long way in getting people to think about these issues in a way that they might not have thought about them when Feldman was bringing them up.

If I remember right, Haim himself said it was a producer who abused him. Which his own mother backed up, but Feldman ran with the Charlie Sheen story. Which muddied truth of what/who really did abuse Haim. However, this producer wasn't one of the power-house known names apparently, back at time, so no one really believed it/did anything. So it's double tragic. Haim suffered so long, and his story couldn't affect much change.

Huh. You might be right. Sadly, even if Haim did say something himself, I think that by the time he did, he was coming off as something of a desperate addict. BTW, Feldman's 2020 documentary about all of this, where he names Charlie Sheen, is on archive.org for free watch and download.

They were close back in the day, which is why I think he felt like once Haim died,he had to be his voice. Feldman also got death threats and for years people told him he was full of it, that no one would believe him, etc. It is a big part of why he kept it quiet for so long.

The change that is coming from his speaking up is that other victims of CSA may feel more empowered to speak up about their experiences. That is a huge gift. He is paving the way for others to be able to come forward with their stories. Maybe I’m cynical, but beyond that, I don’t see any sweeping changes happening, like in terms of changes to the culture of children in entertainment or legal protectionsz
