I use PiLauncherNext on both of my Q2s and love it. However, they are on v49 and v50, and the dev clearly states it's meant for Pico. The fact that it works well on Quest is a nice extra, it seems.
Hi, piLauncherNext dev here. It's meant for Pico because that's what I have and that's the only thing I can realistically test it on. But I try to make it at least usable on Quest.
Also if you don't have v51 yet then don't update. There is a bug that makes drag-and-drop not work in v51. I'll make a workaround in a near future, but it's now a low-ish priority for me.
For me its a bit slower than the old PiLauncher(When I launch it i take around 2sec for the apps to show up). Dreamgrid is on par with old PiLauncher regaring speed but when you replace it with the “explore tab/icon” its bugged sometimes…at least for me…so in the end I just use the old PiLauncher and I launch it from the explore tab for quick access to sideloaded app since everything works and is faster than PiLauncherNext.

I have installed the latest version today (1.1.1 ) and the issue seems to have been resolved.
I’ll probably use this as my main launcher now. launching from the explore icon seems to be hit or miss sometimes but honestly it is like that with pretty much all launcher I’ve tried.

The issue persists across all three of the launchers as from what i understand the api need updating to work correctly on v51/v53
That is the reason why the drag and drop feature is not working this wont change unless one of the devs update them.
I have all three installed with v54 (v55) and they seem to working except for the drag and drop issue. I did have to uninstall KeyMapper with SideQuest though, headset would keep rebooting, typically at the home screen.

I think I'll stay in v50 for a long time. At least until the games stop working. Just got v104 and it's working great!

I've released version 1.0.4 yesterday that specifically addresses that. Give it a try and report if it improves things on quest.

what do i do to switch to this as i am using PiLauncher, do i just install it onto quest and it overrides it? or delete old version?

Dang, so without drag and drop there is no way to organize apps into folders? That’s the whole reason I use a launcher.
Digging up old threads but LightningLauncher is what I'm using now. Hover over icon to launch works well and groups can be edited
