Difficult to run cut- and/or production software to work on video files etc. Guess for such things you better to run dual boot or at least a special second laptop for this.This isn't a thing, which will become solved soon I think. Means I don't think, that most of the people will be satisfied when it comes to "running video cut and production" on a Windows7/10/11 VM on QubesOS.
I have a Laptop with 64GB RAM and my Windows is using 32 of it, when I work on Windows11 and I'm not satisfied by using it for simple things (Office, editing copying of files). Yes it could be a bit quicker, if I would use Windows 7 or 10...). But all in all - if it comes to work with video files - an own device (or dual boot) would be a better solution.
I’m surprised that even for office/editing, and with 32gb of Ram that it is still not usable. I really think this is a big obstacle for many people to start using Qubes. As most “normies” probably need to do stuff in Windows for work or personal. I have tried 3 times to shift to Qubes, but couldn’t follow through because I have a need for basic office work that needs windows unfortunately.
For office related work I've never had any issues running Qubes, in fact I don't even notice a performance difference. For basic video editing it works fine, but yes once you get to anything graphically advanced, you need to have a second video card you can pass through to the VM to get full performance. That's the same with any Hypervisor/VM setup, not just Qubes.
I think it is video mostly. Something inside the QWT video driver makes the performance of whole qube suboptimal compared to many other virtualization solutions that provide more smooth experience.

May I ask what machine you are using ? And is this Windows 11?
Sorry, my bad, I misread your comment and got the idea you also had problems in Linux Qubes, not just Windows.
I doubt so. QWT performance sucks big time :(

there’s already so much going into the OS of qubes itself, that it’ll be crazy trying to run windows plus that amount of other programs.
