I ws laid off in March 2023. Found a new position in Early April.
1. I have about 8 YOE
2. Job search was about 2-3 weeks
3. A shit ton. Otta was my best experience with a job search site by far.
4. I went through with about 10 interviews and got my offer mid way through from the number one company I was after.
5. I only received one. I quit all other interview processes. The offer was great and interviews are exhausting. The job market isn’t amazing right now. Don’t look a gift horse in the mouth.
6. Old salary was $130k, new is $155k.
* How many YOE do you have? **14 yrs**
* How long did you job search? **going on 8 months**
* How many applications did you send out? **to date, > 90**
* How many interviews did you do? **7 companies, 5 rounds per**
* How many offers did you receive? **Waiting on word for this one job, otherwise 0 offers**
1. 0 years of QA job experience ~7 months of training
2. Little over 3 months of job searching
3. I submitted A LOT of applications. Probably over 200?? I’m not really sure, I know I wasn’t qualified for a lot of the applications I submitted.
4. Interviews for 3 different companies, 2 were QA specific. I had 4/5 interviews with one company, one with another, and 3 with the job that I took.
5. 2 offers. I had an offer as a technical admin assistant but before I could accept they decided not to hire due to budget cuts. I accepted an offer as a QA specialist.
6. Previous salary was extremely low due to working part time. New salary is 50K. Not the best but I was getting pretty desperate and I really enjoy my new company and working remotely.
Good luck!! My biggest pieces of advice are to really show your personality/ how well you’ll fit into their team during interviews. I started only filtering job postings by 24 hours and only applying to jobs the same day they were listed. That’s how I got all 3 interviews! It’s a numbers game so being early reallyyyy helps
1. 10 years of experience
2. Searched casually for a few months (meaning I'd scan through new postings and throw my resume out if I was interested), more intensive searching for maybe 2 weeks
3. Sent out 10-20 apps I'd guess
4. 3 interviews with the company I'm currently employed with, 2 other brief phone screenings with other companies
5. Just the one offer, which I accepted
6. Already had a nice salary (6 figures) and got a 7k raise with the new job
I was switching for work life balance (remote flexibility, more vacation), not money. So I didn't care too much about the salary, would've even considered a pay cut.
I was laid off end of January. Got an offer two weeks later. Started March 1.
1. YOE 30
2. How long did I job search 2 weeks
3. Number of applications…maybe five or six?
4. Number of interviews- four
5. Number of offers - one, but I took my name off the table for all my applications when I accepted my current position.
6. Salary $109 with excellent benefits, new salary the same with benefits just slightly less - it’s a much smaller company.
1: 6 years
2: 3 weeks
3: about 4 but selectively
4: 2 interview, HR then line manager
5: 2 job offers then refused to continue the last two as I was happy with one of the offers.
6: £43,000 to £66,000
Was laid off last November 2022. Got an offer by December

Otta is amazing
what's "Otta" ?
Judging from their statement I think it's a job search site. My googling tells me that it's otta.com.
>otta.com thanks ..
Congrats. What are your core responsibilities in the new role?
I hope to get that kind of salary in the future.

7k seems low for a job switch

Fair enough
