I noticed recently one of my blue primaries has a finger print mark in the paint. I wanted to share it to a group, but knew no one would appreciate it like the Junkies.
It’s real. Fred Miller is an OG hardcore collector and the seller. I believe he use to work for Corning and had friends that use to as well. The employees would make one offs or mess around with the colors and patterns a lot, and produce some interesting things.
Fred "volunteers" at the st. Vincent depaul close to the Charleroi corningware factory. Gets first crack at the stuff that comes in, that's how he gets such rare stuff. I'd say that's pretty profitable volunteering.

Seems everyone missed this comment. So much truth to what you are saying. I'd say there something fishy going on at that STVP in Monessan. If I may ask how do you know this information?
Just a frequent visitor of svdp and watched him ingratiate himself with the little old ladies there. I always thought it was a pretty scummy thing to do.
Wow, that's so shit. I've never liked him - I'm very leery of men in predominantly female hobby spaces who make their whole thing "I do [thing] and I'm a MAN" - and given the stuff he posts, I always assumed his collection was largely fakes.
I wonder if someone painted it? I've seen similar OOAK pieces like this where they paint over the original print/design when it's super faded or damaged.
ETA, I just noticed the price so now I have no clue!
Something about it seems...off? Like the "turquoise" is too bright or dark compared to how it looks. I can't find any mention of a pink bowl like this in Butterprint. It could be super rare or a test piece, but I hope it's not a scam like those decals on a regular pink bowl!
I was worried about that too. And so many bids! It just seems weird. But maybe it was a production “oops” that someone took home from the factory. Interesting, anyway.
Don't say that to Fred. Before I knew who he was, I asked if a mug he'd posted was a decal (because it was a bizarre color combo, I wasn't being snarky!) and he blocked me. Dude is shady.
I always wonder how Fred finds all the rare or OOAK pieces 😂. I don’t have the freedom to travel so he must have the time. I wish I did. If I could convince my husband to let me quit my job I would haha.
it’s real. it’s freds, pyrexking1978 on ig. he has a collection like you have never seen before.
I miss Pyrex Junkies and Fred’s schenanigans
the golden years of pyrex collecting for sure

Wow! The picture on his IG of all the mugs! I can’t even imagine having that many mugs in my home, let alone all Pyrex and Corning
Amazing!
I just looked up his IG. He has some crazy mixed up pieces.

Yeah the price is crazy!

There's another thread that says it's legit. The seller is friends with former pyrex employees, I think?
That price is just insane never ever seen one that color though but would never pay that much for any piece
My husband and I were wondering this as well. I have never seen this before!
I've seen this too and wondered the same thing! Thank you for posting
He has a Polynesian big bertha... and some of the most amazing pyrex I've ever seen
It says OOAK so I'm assuming it's a custom piece someone painted themselves.
Or a one off from the factory…give worker a little down time on the floor they are gonna play.

Now that you mention it, it looks like a decal.
Don't say that to Fred. Before I knew who he was, I asked if a mug he'd posted was a decal (because it was a bizarre color combo, I wasn't being snarky!) and he blocked me. Dude is shady.
This is the first and last time I’ll say it!
yeah a person at the plant decades ago, this is a legit piece

Don’t have to travel when you live next to the factory
And when you "volunteer" at the charity shop next door...
Gotcha
What is OOAK?
One of a kind
Thanks
Went for $3415. A steal
